Abstract:The performance and stability of anode materials in solid oxide fuel cells are generally compromised due to sulfur poisoning. This study constructs a three-layer composite anode consisting of a perovskite oxide substrate (La 0.75 Sr 0.25 Cr 0.5 Mn 0.5 O 3- delta , LSCrM), a metal catalyst (Ni), and an oxide catalyst (CeO2). 2 ). Various anode processes are analysed using the distribution of relaxation times method. The sulfur poisoning resistance and O2 2--pumping regeneration capability of LSCrM-Ni-CeO2 2 are experimentally investigated. Additionally, density functional theory calculations are employed to determine the interface structure binding energies, oxygen vacancy formation energies of the LSCrM-based anodes, and the activation energies of chemical and electrochemical oxidative reactions. Consequently, the bonding interfaces between LSCrM and the catalysts (Ni or CeO2), 2 ), catalytic mechanisms, sulfur removal mechanisms, and the regeneration sequence of different sulfur-poisoned products during O2 2--pumping regeneration are examined. The findings offer insights into the sustainable regeneration of LSCrM anodes, ultimately enhancing their electrochemical performance.
