Abstract:Using theory of finite regular p-groups and locally nilpotent groups, we get that if G is soluble and each proper infinite subgroupsis regular, and G is an extension of divisible abelian p-group of rank p-1 by a cyclic p-group.

Abstract:We study the dependence of the structure of finite p-soluble groups on the indices of normalizers of Sylow subgroups. We obtain estimates for the p-length of these groups, and for small values of indices we find the nilpotent length of a soluble group.

Abstract:For n ∈ N, we denote by π(n) the set of prime divisors of n. Let G be a finite group. Denote by IBrp(G) and cl(Gp′) the set of irreducible p-Brauer characters and the set of p-regular conjugacy classes of G, respectively. Set ρp(G) = {q prime: q|ϕ(1), ϕ ∈IBrp(G)}, , σp(G) = max{|π(ϕ(1))|: ϕ ∈IBrp(G)}, and . For a solvable group G, we prove that |ρp(G)| and are bounded by σp(G) and , respectively, if a well-known Diophantine equation has finite integer solutions.

Abstract:Let $G$ be an infinite-dimensional real classical group containing the complete unitary group (or complete orthogonal group) as a subgroup. Then $G$ generates a category of double cosets (train) and any unitary representation of $G$ can be canonically extended to the train. We prove a technical lemma about the complete group $GL$ of infinite $p$-adic matrices with integer coefficients, this lemma implies that the phenomenon of automatic extension of unitary representations to trains is valid for infinite-dimensional $p$-adic groups.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to determine the structure and to establish the isomorphic invariant of the finitely generated nilpotent group G of infinite cyclic commutator subgroup. Using the structure and invariant of the group which is the central extension of a cyclic group by a free abelian group of finite rank of infinite cyclic center, we provide a decomposition of G as the product of a generalized extraspecial ℤ-group and its center. By using techniques of lifting isomorphisms of abelian groups and equivalent normal form of the generalized extraspecial ℤ-groups, we finally obtain the structure and invariants of the group G.

We say that G is quasisupersoluble (resp., p-quasisupersoluble) if for every non-cyclic chief factor H/K of G (resp., for every non-cyclic chief factor H/K of G of order divisible by p), every automorphism of H/K induced by an element of G is inner. In this paper, we study the structure of quasisupersoluble and p-quasisupersoluble finite groups.

Abstract:In the late 19th century, Klein inaugurated a program for describing the finite subgroups of $PGL_2(k)$ by treating the case in which the field $k$ is the complex numbers. Gierster and Moore extended Klein's arguments to deal with finite fields. In the past century, additional contributions to this problem were made by Serre, Suzuki, and Beauville, among others. We complete this program by giving a classification of the finite subgroups of $PGL_2(k)$ with order divisible by $p$, up to conjugation, for an arbitrary field $k$ of positive characteristic $p$.

Abstract:As an extension of Schmidt theorem,the following results are obtained:(1) A finite group with less than 3 classes of non-nilpotent proper subgroups of the same order is solvable;(2) G is a non-solvable group with exactly 3 classes of non-nilpotent proper subgroups of the same order if and only if G≌A_5 or G≌SL_2(5).Furthermore,non-solvable groups with at most 5 classes of non-trivial nilpotent subgroups of the same order and non-solvable groups with at most 9 classes of non-trivial subgroups of the same order are completely classified.
On a bijection between a finite group to a non-cyclic group with divisibility of element orders

Abstract:Consider a finite group $G$ of order $n$ with a prime divisor $p$. In this article, we establish, among other results, that if the Sylow $p$-subgroup of $G$ is neither cyclic nor generalized quaternion, then there exists a bijection $f$ from $G$ onto the abelian group $C_{\frac{n}{p}}\times C_p$ such that for every element $x$ in $G$, the order of $x$ divides the order of $f(x)$. This resolves Question 1.5 posed in [15]. As application of our results, we show that the group with the third largest value of the sum of element orders in the set of all finite groups of order $n$ is a solvable $p$-nilpotent group where $p$ is the smallest prime divisor of $n$ such that the Sylow $p$-subgroups are not cyclic.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove the following theorem: Let p be a prime number, P a Sylow p-subgroup of a group G and π = π(G) \ {p}. If P is seminormal in G, then the following statements hold: 1) G is a p-soluble group and P′ ≤ O p (G); 2) l p (G) ≤ 2 and l π (G) ≤ 2; 3) if a π-Hall subgroup of G is q-supersoluble for some q ∈ π, then G is q-supersoluble.

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime and $\mathbb{F}_p$ be a finite field of $p$ elements. Let $\mathbb{F}_pG$ denote the group algebra of the finite $p$-group $G$ over the field $\mathbb{F}_p$ and $V(\mathbb{F}_pG)$ denote the group of normalized units in $\mathbb{F}_pG$. Suppose that $G$ is a finite $p$-group given by a central extension of the form $$1\longrightarrow \mathbb{Z}_{p^n}\times \mathbb{Z}_{p^m} \longrightarrow G \longrightarrow \mathbb{Z}_p\times \cdots\times \mathbb{Z}_p \longrightarrow 1$$ and $G'\cong \mathbb{Z}_p$, $n, m\geq 1$ and $p$ is odd. In this paper, the structure of $G$ is determined. And the relations of $V(\mathbb{F}_pG)^{p^l}$ and $G^{p^l}$, $\Omega_l(V(\mathbb{F}_pG))$ and $\Omega_l(G)$ are given. Furthermore, there is a direct proof for $V(\mathbb{F}_pG)^p\bigcap G=G^p$.

Abstract:Let p be a prime and Fp be a finite field of p elements. Let FpG denote the group algebra of the finite p -group G over the field Fp and V(FpG) denote the group of normalized units in FpG . Suppose that G is a finite p -group given by a central extension of the form 1→Zpn×Zpm→G→Zp×⋯×Zp→1 and G′≅Zp, n,m≥1 and p is odd. In this paper, the structure of G is determined. And the relations of V(FpG)pl and Gpl, Ωl(V(FpG)) and Ωl(G) are given. Furthermore, there is a direct proof for V(FpG)p∩G=Gp .

Abstract:A condition on abelian p -groups, that of being finitely fully transitive , is defined and studied. It is shown that many groups satisfy this condition, including all of the separable groups. We also consider the class of groups G for which there is an ordinal such that is finite and is universally fully transitive . It is shown that the groups in either of these classes have the property that every uniformly fully inert subgroup is commensurable with a fully invariant subgroup. This gives a positive answer to a conjecture of Dardano et al. (Int J Group Theory 7(3):17–62, 2018) for the groups in these classes.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and 3 a formation of finite groups. We say that a subgroup H of G is J(h)-normal in G if there exists a normal subgroup T of G such that TIT is a normal Hall subgroup of G and (H boolean AND T)H-G/H-G is contained in the J-hypercenter Z(infinity)J(G/H-G) of G/HG. In this paper, we obtain some results about the J(h)-normal subgroups and use them to study the structure of finite groups. Some new characterizations of supersoluble groups, soluble groups and p-nilpotent groups are obtained and some known results are generalized.
Finite subgroups of the profinite completion of good groups

Abstract:Let $G$ be a residually finite, good group of finite virtual cohomological dimension. We prove that the natural monomorphism $G\hookrightarrow\hat{G}$ induces a bijective correspondence between conjugacy classes of finite $p$-subgroups of $G$ and those of its profinite completion $\hat{G}$. Moreover, we prove that the centralizers and normalizers in $\hat{G}$ of finite $p$-subgroups of $G$ are the closures of the respective centralizers and normalizers in $G$. With somewhat more restrictive hypotheses, we prove the same results for finite solvable subgroups of $G$. In the last section, we give a few applications of this theorem to hyperelliptic mapping class groups and virtually compact special toral relatively hyperbolic groups (these include fundamental groups of $3$-orbifolds and of uniform standard arithmetic hyperbolic orbifolds).
