Abstract:A nonnilpotent finite group G is called a PN-group if for any prime p, NG(P) is nilpo-tent provided that P is a non-normal j?subgroup of G such that P Z∞(G). In this paper, the author determines the structure of soluble PJV-groups. Some characterization theorems of PN-groups are obtained.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and p be a prime. We define to be the intersection of the normalizers of the p -nilpotent residuals of all two-generator subgroups of G whose p -nilpotent residuals are nilpotent. We show that . Using the method in the present paper, we will be able to give an affirmative answer to an open problem in Shen et al. (Mediterr J Math 19:191, 2022), which also indicates that similar conclusions hold for many formations. It is also proved that if and only if every three-generator subgroup H of G satisfies . To this end, we introduce and investigate the IO - -groups, i.e., the groups G such that but each proper subgroup and each proper quotient of G equals its p -nilpotent norm. Moreover, new results in terms of the p -nilpotent norm and the p -nilpotent hypernorm are given.

Abstract:Let $H$ be a subgroup of a group $G$. $H$ is said satisfying $\Pi$-property in $G$, if $|G/K:N_{G/K}(HK/K\cap L/K)|$ is a $\pi(HK/K\cap L/K))$-number for any chief factor $L/K$ of $G$, and, if there is a subnormal supplement $T$ of $H$ in $G$ such that $H\cap T\le I\le H$ for some subgroup $I$ satisfying $\Pi$-property in $G$, then $H$ is said $\Pi$-normal in $G$. By these properties of some subgroups, we obtain some new criterions of $p$-nilpotency of finite groups.

Abstract:The centralizers and normalizers of abelian subgroups play a strong part in the structure of finite groups.In this paper,we consider some abelian subgroups whose centralizers are equal to its normalizers,so we obtain some sufficient conditions of p-nilpotent groups and p-closed groups.

Abstract:The aim of this paper is to determine the structure and to establish the isomorphic invariant of the finitely generated nilpotent group G of infinite cyclic commutator subgroup. Using the structure and invariant of the group which is the central extension of a cyclic group by a free abelian group of finite rank of infinite cyclic center, we provide a decomposition of G as the product of a generalized extraspecial ℤ-group and its center. By using techniques of lifting isomorphisms of abelian groups and equivalent normal form of the generalized extraspecial ℤ-groups, we finally obtain the structure and invariants of the group G.
p-Nilpotent maximal subgroups in finite groups

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime number and suppose that every maximal subgroup of a finite group is either $p$-nilpotent or has prime index. Such group need not be $p$-solvable, and we study its structure by proving that only one nonabelian simple group of order divisible by $p$, which belongs to the family ${\rm PSL}_n(q)$, can be involved in it. For $p=2$, we specify more, and in fact, such simple group must be isomorphic to ${\rm PSL}_2({r^a})$ for certain values of the prime $r$ and the parameter $a$.

Abstract:It is well known that if $G$ is a group and $H$ is a normal subgroup of $G$ of finite index $k$, then $x^k \in H$ for every $x \in G$. We examine finite groups $G$ with the property that $x^k \in H$ for every subgroup $H$ of $G$, where $k$ is the index of $H$ in $G$. We prove that a finite group $G$ satisfies this property if and only if $G$ is nilpotent.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the properties of totally local formations of finite groups. We will prove that if F is a non-nilpotent totally local formation, then F/F-infinity(0) is a complemented lattice if and only if it is Boolean lattice, where F-o is the local nilpotent subformation of F. Thus, the interesting problem proposed by A.N. Skiba in his monograph, "Algebra of Formations" can be answered positively.

Abstract:If G is a non-nilpotent group and nil(G) = {g \in G : <g, h> is nilpotent for all h\in G}, the nilpotent graph of G is the graph with set of vertices G-nil(G) in which two distinct vertices are related if they generate a nilpotent subgroup of G. Several properties of the nilpotent graph associated with a finite non-nilpotent group G are studied in this work. Lower bounds for the clique number and the number of connected components of the nilpotent graph of G are presented in terms of the size of its Fitting subgroup and the number of its strongly self-centralizing subgroups, respectively. It is proved the nilpotent graph of the symmetric group of degree n is disconnected if and only if n or n-1 is a prime number, and no finite non-nilpotent group has a self-complementary nilpotent graph. For the dihedral group Dn, it is determined the number of connected components of its nilpotent graph is one more than n when n is odd; or one more than the 2'-part of n when n is even. In addition, a formula for the number of connected components of the nilpotent graph of PSL(2,q), where q is a prime power, is provided. Finally, necessary and sufficient conditions for specific subsets of a group, containing connected components of its nilpotent graph, to contain one of its Sylow p-subgroups are studied; and it is shown the nilpotent graph of a finite non-nilpotent group G with nil(G) of even order is non-Eulerian.

Abstract:Let $A$ and $G$ be finite groups such that $A$ acts coprimely on $G$ by automorphisms. We provide a complete classification of a finite group $G$ in which every maximal $A$-invariant subgroup containing the normalizer of some $A$-invariant Sylow subgroup is nilpotent. Moreover, we show that both the hypothesis that every maximal $A$-invariant subgroup of $G$ containing the normalizer of some $A$-invariant Sylow subgroup is nilpotent and the hypothesis that every non-nilpotent maximal $A$-invariant subgroup of $G$ is normal are equivalent.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and 3 a formation of finite groups. We say that a subgroup H of G is J(h)-normal in G if there exists a normal subgroup T of G such that TIT is a normal Hall subgroup of G and (H boolean AND T)H-G/H-G is contained in the J-hypercenter Z(infinity)J(G/H-G) of G/HG. In this paper, we obtain some results about the J(h)-normal subgroups and use them to study the structure of finite groups. Some new characterizations of supersoluble groups, soluble groups and p-nilpotent groups are obtained and some known results are generalized.

Abstract:Abstract A finite group G is said to be a PST -group if every subnormal subgroup of G permutes with every Sylow subgroup of G . We shall discuss the normal structure of soluble PST -groups, mainly defining a local version of this concept. A deep study of the local structure turns out to be crucial for obtaining information about the global property. Moreover, a new approach to soluble PT -groups, i.e., soluble groups in which permutability is a transitive relation, follows naturally from our vision of PST -groups. Our techniques and results provide a unified point of view for T -groups, PT -groups, and PST -groups in the soluble universe, showing that the difference between these classes is quite simply their Sylow structure.
