Abstract:To improve effect of desulfurization in dry FGD process, bed inventory and circulating rate in circulating fluidized bed (CFB) were designed too high, which brought more pressure drop. For the analysis of calcium loss on FGD process at Medium Temperature in CFB, the secret of utilization rate of calcium (UR) in sorbent mostly less than 50% was found that respectable part of effective calcium ran away from CFB too early. According to the FGD process with T-T sorbent (Hydrated Pulverized CaO/Fly ash) in TGA and experiment parameters in CFB, 26.1%, 53.6% and 78.0% of sorbent were drained from CFB on the first 2 minutes, 5 minutes and 10 minutes after the sorbent entering CFB, while the loss of effective calcium was 10.6%, 22.2% and 32.6%. All the results became stable when FGD process in CFB went into balance. The fresh sorbent and spent sorbent circulated together in CFB, which brought many problems, such as loss of fresh sorbent, delay of desulfurization process, waste of energy for circulation, and so on. Therefore, staged dry FGD process on CFB was proposed for the inevitable calcium loss in normal FGD process in CFB. Additional reactor was arranged before CFB. The flue gas was desulfurized in the first reactor and CFB orderly. Fresh sorbent worked in the first reactor. Partly spent sorbent from the first reactor then worked in CFB. The advantage of staged FGD process on CFB was discussed in detail, going with the feasibility and disadvantage. It was found that staged dry FGD process reduced bed inventory and pressure drop, improved UR and was feasible for industrial purpose.
