Abstract:A facile and highly chemoselective protocol for the synthesis of benzil derivatives has been developed by oxidation of stilbenes in an I-2-H2O system under air. Notably, the method was applicable to 26 examples and provided up to 98% yield, avoiding the use of acid, metal catalysts and so on.

Abstract:Several aromatic aldehydes and sodium bisulfite were mixed to prepare hydroxyl sulfonates,which were added to o-phenylenediamine or substituted o-phenylenediamine in refluxing ethanol to afford 2-substi-tuted benzimidazoles through oxidation by air directly.One of the fifteen synthesized compounds,2-(4-chlorophyenyl)-6-methoxyl-1H-benzimidazole has not been reported.All the compounds were identified by IR,1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis.The method is simple,mild,eco-friendly and requires no catalyst.

Abstract:p-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile was prepared from p-(trifluoromethyl)chlorobenzene and potussium cyanide catalyzed by tris(triphenylphosphine)nickle(0), which was prepared from anhydrous NiCl2 and triphenylphosphine in the presence of zinc.And then, the produced intermideate, p-trifluoromethylbenzonitrile was treated with hydrogen sulfide to give p-(trifluoromethyl)thiobenzamide and the yield of 90% with the purity of 99.7% was obtained for the objective product.The structure is correct through IR and GC-MS testing.The operation process is simple and reaction condition is moderate.

Abstract:The first aryl iodide catalyzed intramolecular C-H amination of phenylurea has been disclosed for high-efficiency synthesis of benzimidazolone derivatives in excellent yields (up to 97%) by an operationally simple one-step organocatalytic oxidative process. Fluorinated protic alcohols can efficiently accelerate the conversion of this transformation. The straightforward method has good functional group tolerance and can be performed with an inexpensive and readily accessible catalyst with high proficiency.

Abstract:A novel, simple and efficient method for the synthesis of benzothiazoles in solvent-free conditions has been developed from 2-aminophenthiols and aromatic aldehydes, using ionic liquid [Bmim]PF 6 as a catalyst. It is noteworthy that [Bmim]PF 6 acts as both the catalyst and solvent, and no additional organic solvents are required in this reaction. In addition, this reaction has a wide range of substrate scope and a series of benzothiazoles are smoothly synthesized with good to excellent yields.

Abstract:A highly efficient and convenient protocol was developed to access 2-amino-4H-benzothiopyran-4-ones through a process of conjugated addition-elimination. The sulfinyl group was proved to be the optimum leaving group by thorough investigations on the elimination of sulfide, sulfinyl, and sulfonyl groups at the 2-position of benzothiopyranone. Most 2-aminobenzothiopyranones were obtained in good to excellent yields under refluxing in isopropanol within 36 h. This method is base-free and the substrate scope in terms of electronic properties of the substituents of the benzothiopyranone is broad. The ten grams scale-up synthesis of the representative compounds 4a and 4d was implemented to show the practical application of this reaction, which afforded the corresponding compounds in good yields and excellent chemical purity without requiring column chromatographical purification.
