Abstract:Novel chiral aminophosphine phosphinite, DPAMPP was designed and synthesized from (1S,2R)-1,2-diphenyl-2-aminoethanol. Its cationic rhodium complex has been found to be an excellent catalyst for enantioselective hydrogenation of dehydroamino acids (more than 95.0%e.e.).

Abstract:A series of chiral spiroketal bisphosphine ligands containing 1,1'-spirobi(3 H,3' H)isobenzofuran backbones was accessed through asymmetric synthesis and subsequently tested in enantioselective Rh-catalyzed hydrogenation of α-dehydroamino acid esters. The ligand providing the highest enantioselectivity (up to 99.5%) was obtained in seven steps in an overall 38% yield. The synthesis could be performed on a gram scale, and no kinetic resolution of enantiomers is required. Overall, the developed ligand provides an easily accessible alternative to SDP ligands as well as other chiral bisphosphine ligands.

Abstract:A practical procedure has been developed for efficient synthesis of chiral aromatic spiroketals and the relevant diphosphine ligands. The procedure includes first asymmetric hydrogenation of readily available ,-bis(2-benzyloxyarylidene) ketones catalyzed by the Ir(I)/SpinPHOX (S,S)-1a (0.5-1mol%) and subsequent hydrogenative deprotection of the resultant benzyl ethers catalyzed by palladium on carbon (Pd/C), as well as simultaneous spiroketalization of the corresponding diphenolic ketones by (S,S)-1a in one pot. The corresponding chiral aromatic spiroketals (R,R,R)-4a-j have been obtained in high yields (77-94%) with good diastereoselectivities (trans/cis=81/19 to 96/4), and excellent enantioselectivities for the trans products (97->99% ee). In addition, the reaction of aromatic spiroketal difluoride (R,R,R)-4b with potassiodiarylphosphide (KPAr2) in refluxing tertahydrofuran (THF) has also provided an alternative and practical synthesis of chiral spiroketal-based diphosphine (SKP) ligands in 78-95% yields on multigram scale.

Abstract:Synthesis of the electron-rich 2-substituted-6-(phenylsulfonyl)pyridines is presented. A series of air-stable, tunable, P-chiral pyridyl-dihydrobenzooxaphosphole ligands were designed and synthesized by a diastereoselective S(N)Ar substitution of the corresponding sulfonyl pyridines. The ligands were successfully applied in the Ir-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of unfunctionalized alkenes with good enantioselectivities.

Abstract:An asymmetric synthesis of a series of tricycle‐fused dispirooxindoles frameworks assembled in different rings was disclosed via multicomponent cascade 1,3‐dipolar cycloadditions of electron‐deficient 2‐pyrones and trifluoroethylisatin ketimines under the catalysis of hydroquinine or (DHQD)2PHAL with 61‐>99% ee and >19:1 dr. Meanwhile, these potentially biologically important dispirooxindoles fused pyrrolidinyl/tetrahydropyranone/pyrrolidinyl frameworks bear eight contiguous stereocenters and functionalized pharmacophores which could further transfer to liner dispirooxindoles and spirooxindoles bearing epoxyethyl moiety with retentive enantioselectivity.
