Abstract:Let X n , n ≥1 be a sequence of π-mixing random variables, S(n) = ∑_i = 1^n X_i , 0< p< 2, q ⩾ p, φ (x) ∈ , S , δ>0, d =1 or −1. This note investigates that ∑_n = 1^∞n^q/p - 2 (sup (_k ⩾ n| S(k)|/(k(φ (k))^d )^1/p ) ⩾ε )< ∞ , where ε is an arbitrary but fixed positive number. As application we give some results on the convergence rates for randomly indexed partial sums. Some known results are extended and generalized.

Abstract:We establish strong invariance principles for sums of stationary ρ-mixing random variables with finite and infinite second moments under weaker mixing rates.Some earlier results are improved.As applications,some results of the law of the iterated logarithm with finite and infinite variance are obtained,also a conjecture raised by Shao in 1993 is solved.

Abstract:For the sequence of ρ˜-mixing identically distributed random variables, we show two general strong laws of large numbers (SLLNs) in which the coefficient of sum and the weight are both general functions, and as a consequence we obtain the Marcinkiewicz SLLN. Finally, we get a Chung type SLLN for ρ˜-mixing random variables.

When ɛ > ($\sqrt 2 $)1/p , for p > 1/2 and r > 1, the conditions for ∫ ɛ ∞ f(x p dx < ∞ to hold is established, by using coupled methods together with strong approximation, which are different from the traditional symmetrization and Hoffman-Jørgensen inequality.

Abstract:In the paper, we give the almost sure limiting behaviour of the increments of partial sums of aϕ-mixing sequence when the moment generating functions do not exist. The results obtained are close to those for an independent sequence provided that the mixing coefficients tend to zero rapidly enough.

Abstract:Under some conditions on probability, we discuss the results in [1] for thepart r ＞ 1, which Yang[1] had not solved, such that the convergence rates are solvedthoroughly in this case. Obviously, our conditions are weaker than Yang's corresponding moment conditions. Meanwhile, Banach spaces of type p(1 ＜ p ＜ 2) are characterized. For 0 ＜ t ＜ 1, we prove that the corresponding results hold for independent randomelements in any Banach space. As application we give the corresponding results forrandomly indexed partial sums.

Abstract:We show that dynamical systems with phi-mixing measures have local escape rates which are exponential with rate 1 at non-periodic points and equal to the extremal index at periodic points. We apply this result to equilibrium states on subshifts of finite type, Gibbs-Markov systems, expanding interval maps, Gibbs states on conformal repellers, and more generally to Young towers, and by extension to all systems that can be modeled by a Young tower.

Limiting principle for i.i.d random sequences is perfect.Limiting principle for mixing random sequences has achieved good result lately.In this paper the convergence properties of -mixing random sequences are studied.As a result,convergence for weighted sums of mixing random sequences is obtained.
