Abstract:In order to improve the dynamic balancing efficiency,accuracy and the automation of the crankshaft for the inland manufacture,an automatic dynamic balancing scheme is studied.Form the view point of the system,the key problems that should be considered is summarized,w hich include the balancing test unit and driving system,the support-up and rotating unit,the drilling unit,the scraps disposal unit,the control system structure,the controller,the analogue and the digital signal process,the mathematic model,the cut positioning method,the sequence control method and so on.The prototype machine is developed.And the experimental results prove that the scheme is successful.

Abstract:Firstly the dynamics model of rotor is set up,then the design methods of rigid bearing for dynamic balancing machine is presented,meanwhile the natural frequency of system and damping coefficient between different part of the machine is calculated out;Secondly,after analyzing the disadvantages of existing methods,a optimized calibrating method is advanced;Finally,based on the characteristics of vibrating signals,combined with existing digital signal processing algorithms,a more accurate unbalancing elements extracting algorithm is discussed for enhancing the precision and sensitivity of the machine.Experiments results show that our system is feasible,effective and stability.

Abstract:In order to insure the large controllable pitch propeller's reliability in its whole life cycle, it should be exhaustively tested. Water test is important and necessary, but due to its difficulty and high costs, ground tests are more widely used. This article focuses on dynamical loads simulation of large controllable pitch propellers, which is the key problem of ground tests. A centrifugal loading device was designed by the principle of couple to simulate the loads of bending moment and blade spindle torque to pitch control mechanism, and it was confirmed by finite element analysis. Finally, the dynamic loading test system was proposed for large controllable pitch propellers onshore tests. The results of stability pitch test and controllable pitch test show that the simulation is effective and accurate.

Abstract:The load simulation test bench plays an important role in tracked vehicle development. The stability and accuracy of the system have a vital impact on the experimental results. To accurately reproduce the power performance of a tracked vehicle on the test platform, this paper aims to investigate the model, control, and calibration method of the test bench. Firstly, the dynamic model of a tracked vehicle under complex driving conditions is analyzed and established, which takes driving torque as the input and driving wheel speed as the output. Then, considering the uncertainties and disturbances in the system model, a 2-degree-of-freedom (2-DOF) control method combined with a disturbance observer is proposed to solve the stability problem of the system. Furthermore, in order to investigate the accuracy of the simulation on the test bed, a method of calibrating the system by a flywheel set with standard inertia is proposed. In the calibration process, the influence of the system resistance torque and the original mechanical inertia on the results is considered, and the response time of the inertia simulation is analyzed in both a steady and dynamic state. Finally, the load simulation test is carried out with the corrected system. The test results show that the system has a high load simulation accuracy under various load simulation tests.

Abstract:In connection with the design of Single Plane hard bearing dynamic balancing measurement ma-chine, a series of theoretical analysis was done, including the dynamics analysis of the machine, analyzing the factors influencing permanent calibration error and presenting a stiffness principle of spring board, sensor and preloaded spring. After this, the experiments of testing and minimum achievable residual unbalance are done with a prototype designed by the design scheme. The result demonstrates that the prototype has high measurement precision.

Abstract:Dual-motor Electric Drive Tracked Vehicles (DDTVs) have attracted increasing attention due to their high transmission efficiency and economical fuel consumption. A test bench for the development and validation of new DDTV technologies is necessary and urgent. How to load the vehicle on a DDTV test bench exactly the same as on a real road is a crucial issue when designing the bench. This paper proposes a novel dynamic load emulation method to address this problem. The method adopts dual dynamometers to simulate both the road load and the inertia load that are imposed on the dual independent drive systems. The vehicle’s total inertia equivalent to the drive wheels is calculated with separate consideration of vehicle body, tracks and road wheels to obtain a more accurate inertia load. A speed tracking control strategy with feedforward compensation is implemented to control the dual dynamometers, so as to make the real-time dynamic load emulation possible. Additionally, a MATLAB/Simulink model of the test bench is built based on a dynamics analysis of the platform. Experiments are finally carried out on this test bench under different test conditions. The outcomes show that the proposed load emulation method is effective, and has good robustness and adaptability to complex driving conditions. Besides, the accuracy of the established test bench model is also demonstrated by comparing the results obtained from the simulation model and experiments.

Abstract:This paper covers ADAMS and Matlab based fuzzy dynamic balancing simulation analysis of compound dynamic balancing device for high-speed rotor system, focusing on how to build the model of the dynamic balancing device and simulation analysis of the prototype. It is proved that vibration is reduced 95% at the speed of about 10 000 r/min and rotor dynamic balancing standard is met.

Abstract:A vehicle model by using the software-ADAMS(Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical System) was builded,and introduces the principles which the ADAMS/Car(one of the professional modules of ADAMS) used to realize control and analyze.Based on this,the author did the steering wheel impulse input test by using ADAMS/Car,and analyzed the results.The virtual experiment system is created by using the virtual—reality software package WTK under VC compiling environment.By applying the emulation curve obtained by ADAMS to drive the motorcar model in the system,the whole dynamic emulation virtual test system is realized and this provides a new method to evaluate the operation stability of vehicles.

Abstract:The dynamic imbalance model of wheel has been established in the paper, so the conclusion, that the decrease of static imbalance can improve the imbalance of moment can be drawn. Non-regressive static imbalance testing system based on physics theory has been designed to prevent it from going back to its original state. The testing result has been analyzed to find the error source resource and furthermore to find ways to try to avoid and decrease errors. By structure design, error caused by mounting has been compensated to judge the imbalance of the testing tire correctly. According to the deficiency of the machine we had designed, a kind of improving design has been put forward, and the development of tire imbalance technology has been pointed out.
The Study of an On-line Automatic Dynamic Balancing System and Its Dynamic Balancing Method when Used on a Flexible Rotor

Abstract:An innovative on-line automatic dynamic balancing system is proposed along with a description of its working principle, construction and dynamic balancing method. The system is equipped with one or more than one automatic dynamic balancing head on the shaft of a rotating machine. The stator of the balancing head is capable of producing a non-contact electromagnetic force to drive the balancing disc installed on a rotating shaft. Each balancing head has two or three balancing discs, each of which has been provided with a balancing block (or called the balancing mass). The total balancing vector as a resultant composed of the balancing masses of the two or three balancing discs can balance the loss of balance of the rotor. The vibration of the shaft and positioning of the balancing discs can be detected by relevant sensors. The balancing disc assumes a single-direction movement mode, which can considerably simplify a control system. The movement principle and procedures of the balancing disc aimed at a dynamic balancing of the rotor are also discussed. The dynamic balancing test has been successfully conducted on an experimental test rig incorporating a flexible rotor.

Abstract:To improve the accuracy and actual road equivalence of vehicle performance testing using test benches, a double-drum test bench that meets the test requirements of vehicle control system prototypes and in-use vehicles was designed. Dynamic models of the single-wheel test bench and the vehicle test bench were established, and mechanisms were theoretically analyzed for single-wheel variable adhesion and vehicle load transfer for equivalent testing using the variable placement angle. The mechanism of electromechanical inertia compensation was studied to realize stepless simulation of vehicle inertia and simulate dynamic load while braking. The simulation model of the vehicle test bench system was established based on MATLAB/Simulink. Simulations were carried out to verify the anti-lock braking system (ABS) performance test functionality of the test bench under high adhesion, bisectional, and low adhesion conditions. Referring to the simulation conditions, ABS tests under actual test bench and road conditions were carried out. Results demonstrated that the mechanism of variable load transfer simulation by electromechanical inertia compensation improves the equivalent accuracy compared to that of its road test equivalent, verifying the feasibility of the simulation mechanism. This study could help further improve the accuracy and reduce the cost of vehicle performance testing, thus greatly benefitting the vehicle development and testing industry.
An Analysis on the Rolling Characteristics Between Tire and Dynamometer Drum

Abstract:In this paper,the drum and flat-belt models for tire rolling resistance measurement are set up and the characteristics of contact between tire and dynamometer drum with different sizes are analyzed.Then a measurement/simulation of tire rolling resistance is conducted with a scheme,in which the reaction forces of wheel shaft are calculated based on the stain data of sensors and are then transformed into tire rolling resistance.Finally a rig test of tire rolling resistance is carried out.The results of static loading show that the vertical deflection of tire reduces with the increase of drum diameter,but the tendency weakens when the drum diameter is larger than 2m.The results of steady state measurement/simulation indicate that the tire rolling resistance slightly goes up with the increase in wheel speed,and rises with increased loading almost proportionally,but lowers with the rise in tire inflation pressure.The above tendency agrees well with test results.Under all three conditions with the changes in speed,loading and inflection pressure,the tire rolling resistance reduces with the increase in drum size.

Mechanics Based Design of Structures and Machines

Abstract:Dynamic imbalance is one of the primary issues in rotary compressor applications, which can generate significant vibration. A dynamic balance design is required to minimize the moment and additional inertia force, which can be eliminated by adding a counterweight. This paper utilized a solid plate that has cavities filled with particle damper as a novel design to satisfy the dynamic balance. Vibrational energy is dissipated in collisions between particles through momentum exchange and is converted into energy for consumption that consists of inelastic collision energy and frictional energy. The discrete element method (DEM) and multi-body dynamics (MBD) were applied for two-way coupling for a dynamic balance simulation. The impact of particle size, friction coefficient, and restitution coefficient on energy dissipation in rotary compressors was evaluated, and the particle radius of 1 mm produced the most satisfactory. The experiment measured the vibrational acceleration in the tangential and radial directions at a particular duration and frequency to reflect the particle damper's dynamic balance and energy dissipation effect. Both simulation and experimental results confirmed that the novel design features are more acceptable than the original to satisfy the dynamic balance of a rotary compressor.

A direct and exact solution of the problem is offered, which makes it possible to balance a rotor completely by means of a definite procedure utilizing the data obtained from only three balancing runs of the machine. The system is so developed as to require a minimum of mental effort on the part of the operator.

Abstract:The development of dynamic balancing machinery has gradually become mature. Experts and scholars have developed many kinds of actuators, which can achieve dynamic balance. But the imbalance in most dynamic balancing machinery is still obtained by using the influence coefficient method. In this paper, it made an analysis of the influence coefficient method and its improved method. The analysis indicates that, with the limitation of adding trial mass, these methods are mostly used in experimental environment. But for the actual production and processing, the feasibility of the application is not so hot. Therefore, looking for an imbalance calculation method without trial mass is particularly important, which is the development direction of dynamic balance technology in future.

Abstract:The research on the dynamic strain of drum brakes is of great significance in performance evaluation, structure optimization and fatigue prediction. Based on current research of strain experiments and measuring technology, a new test procedure is proposed to investigate strain and temperature information of a working drum. Wireless data acquisition system and high-temperature strain gauges are applied. The strain-time and temperature-time curves are studied on the conditions of emergency brake and continuous brake. A tribological and thermo-mechanical analysis are conducted by using software ABAQUS. Results show that the strain is uneven when the drum contacts different zones of friction plates. Seasonal variation is another feature and a set of four wave crests repeats during the rotation. Meanwhile, thermal effect is proved important to strain. The simulation results coincide well with experiments, proving that this method provides a practical way to verify the calculation. The study also lays the foundation for the following fatigue analysis and optimization design.
Application of multi-body dynamics simulation to predict the balance performance of diesel engines

Abstract:In order to eliminate the unbalanced 1st order inertia force acting on diesel engine blocks, a multi-body dynamics based simulation was proposed, in which the engine vibration was analyzed to assess whether the designed balance achieves the goals. The dynamic model of the engine was established and the design parameters were set according to the results balance shaft. The single-cylinder diesel engine without and with balshafts which can 100% balance 1st order reciprocating inertia force were simulated. The results showed that installation of a balance shaft, the overhang of the 3 bands the direction of a velocity decreased significantly, which would help improve the NVH (noise, vibration, harchness) performance. The simulation results were consistent with experimental results.

Pneumatic Liquid Online Automatic Balancing System for Rotating Machinery

Abstract:Online automatic balancing is considered to be the best solution to reduce unbalance vibrations of rotating machinery. The pneumatic liquid online automatic balancing device presented in this paper is a new type of liquid balancers, including a sealed balancing disc rotating with rotor and an air distributor mated with the balancing disc. Balancing liquid is transferred between opposite chambers by compressed air and a correcting mass is formed to balance the detected device through the change of liquid distribution in balancing disc. For a horizontal experimental installation, several performance parameters of the balancing device were analyzed, such as the volume of balancing liquid, the maximum of balancing ability and the liquid flow velocity in the connecting tube. A simulation model of the balancing device was also built using Labview virtual instrument platform and its parameters were set in accordance with the experimental device. A one by one chamber trial algorithm and a target vector algorithm were used to simulate in the model. The simulation results demonstrated that both of the two algorithms could reduce the unbalance vibrations efficiently by choosing appropriate control parameters although the liquid flow rate of balancing device was a variable value, and the target vector algorithm had a faster balancing speed and avoided the misadjustment phenomenon during the balancing process.

Abstract:Two methods of high accuracy testing of eccentric mass of huge rotors are proposed. Based on the principle of hydrostatic bearing, the new equipment can support a rotor as heavy as hundreds of tons while keeps it in a floating state.Therefore, the influence of friction is diminated. Two kinds of structures of the equipment are introduced with the comparison of their advantages and disadvantages. Experiments show that the new equipment can reach high accuracy as well as high feasibility of engineering achievement.
