Abstract:In this paper, we study the regularity of convex solutions to the Dirichlet problem of the homogeneous Monge-Ampere equation det D(2)u = 0. We prove that if the domain is a strip region and the boundary functions are locally uniformly convex and C-k+2,C-alpha smooth, then the solution is C-k+2,C-alpha smooth up to boundary. By an example, we show the solution may fail to be C-2 smooth if boundary functions are not locally uniformly convex. Similar results have also been obtained for the Dirichlet problem on bounded convex domains.

Abstract:We prove a relative $L^\infty$ estimate for a class of complex Monge-Ampère type equations on Kähler manifolds. It provides a unified approach to Tundinger type estimate and uniform estimate. It also improves the previous results about modulus of continuity, stability estimates, and $W^{1,1}$-estimates of Green's functions. The argument is based on the PDE method developed by Guo-Phong-Tong and constructing appropriate comparison metrics from entropy bound.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate the interior Hölder regularity of solutions to the linearized Monge-Ampère equation. In particular, we focus on the cases with singular right-hand side, which arise from the study of the semigeostrophic equation and singular Abreu equations. In the two-dimensional case, we give a new proof of the Caffarelli-Gutiérrez Hölder estimate (\textit{Amer. J. Math.} \textbf{119} (1997), no.\,2, 423-465) and the result of Le (\textit{Comm. Math. Phys.} \textbf{360} (2018), no.\,1, 271-305) for the linearized Monge-Ampère equation with singular right-hand side term in divergence form. The main new ingredient in the proof contains the application of the partial Legendre transform to the linearized Monge-Ampère equation. Building on this idea, we also establish a new Moser-Trudinger type inequality in dimension two. In higher dimensions, we derive the interior Hölder estimate under certain integrability assumptions on the coefficients using De Giorgi's iteration.

Abstract:We describe how to use the perturbation theory of Caffarelli to prove Evans–Krylov type $C^{2,\alpha }$ estimates for solutions of nonlinear elliptic equations in complex geometry, assuming a bound on the Laplacian of the solution. Our results can be used to replace the various Evans–Krylov type arguments in the complex geometry literature with a sharper and more unified approach. In addition, our methods extend to almost-complex manifolds, and we use this to obtain a new local estimate for an equation of Donaldson.

Abstract:For any $\theta<\frac{1}{3}$, we show that very weak solutions to the two-dimensional Monge-Ampère equation with regularity $C^{1,\theta}$ are dense in the space of continuous functions. This result is shown by a convex integration scheme involving a subtle decomposition of the defect at each stage. The decomposition diagonalizes the defect and, in addition, incorporates some of the leading-order error terms of the first perturbation, effectively reducing the required amount of perturbations to one.
