Abstract:In the communication by Ke-Feng Zhang, Jing Nie, Ran Guo, Yan Zheng and Jun-An Ma, in Issue 17, 2013 (Adv. Synth. Catal. 2013, 355, 3497–3502; DOI: ), there was an error in the naming of the absolute stereochemistry of the catalyst 1. All examples of catalyst 1 used in this article are the (R)-enantiomer: they were incorrectly named (S) throughout the article. Nevertheless, the drawings shown in both Table 1 and in the proposed transition state structure are correct. In addition, there were errors in the drawings of the structures of 4a in Table 1 and of 4u in Figure 2, top; the correct structures are the following:1 The authors apologize for these nomenclature and drawing errors.

Abstract:An enantioselective Mannich-type reaction of in situ generated cyclic ketimines with difluoroenoxysilanes catalyzed by chiral spirocyclic phosphoric acid has been developed. This methodology provides a facile route to difluoroalkyl-substituted chiral isoindolinones bearing a quaternary stereogenic center in high yields and up to 96% enantioselectivity.
