Abstract:Firstly, in Scheme 1 c of this Communication, the chemical structure of D is incorrect. The correct version is shown in the updated Scheme 1 below. Secondly, there is a mistake in the first paragraph of the Experimental Section. The “calcium hydride (methanol)” in the sixth line is wrong and should be “I2/Mg (methanol)”. Thus, the first paragraph should read as follows: “General materials: Except for the visible-light-induced final step which was carried out without nitrogen atmosphere protection, other manipulations were carried out under a nitrogen atmosphere by using standard Schlenk techniques. Solvents were distilled under nitrogen from sodium benzophenone (diethyl ether, tetrahydrofuran) or I2/Mg (methanol), and degassed prior to use. The starting materials of [OsCl2(PPh3)3], 1 a′–1 e”, 3 a“ and 3 b” were prepared by procedures described in the literature.[13] Other reagents were used as received from commercial sources without further purification.“ The authors apologize for these mistakes and for any inconvenience caused.

Abstract:On pages S11, S65 and S68 of the Supporting Information of our paper “Organocatalytic Direct Vinylogous Michael Addition of α,β-Unsaturated γ-Butyrolactam to α,β-Unsaturated Aldehydes and an Illustration to Scaffold Diversity Synthesis” (Chem. Eur. J. 2010, 16, 10309–10312), it was found that the 1H NMR data and spectra of compound 9 k and its diastereomer 9 k′ were mismatched. The corrected version of the Supporting Information now has been presented. Abstract:A highly efficient asymmetric [1,3]- and [3,3]-O-to-C sigmatropic rearrangement of 3-allyloxy-4 H -chromenones and their analogues was developed. Chiral N , N ′-dioxide complexes of 3d late transition metal complexes enabled two mechanistically different processes, giving a series of optically active 2,2-disubstituted chromane-3,4-diones and 2-allyl-3-hydroxy-4 H -chromen-4-ones as well as their related compounds in excellent yield and enantioselectivity. Systemic mechanistic studies and DFT calculation revealed the nature of the vinyl ether unit of the substrate, which biased regioselectivity via a stepwise tight ion pair pathway and a concerted pericyclic pathway, respectively. The enantioselectivity of the two processes is also disclosed.
