Abstract:Faced with an overall crisis in China since the early 20th century, the Communist Party of China has pursued a Party-centric path to modernising the country, thus delivering its people out of an unorganised chaos. With democratic centralism at the core, China has developed a form of government distinct from Western representative democracy. Democratic centralism prevails throughout the organisational structure of power and the policy implementation process. This best shows the Party’s affinity to its people. China’s road to modernisation and success in governance, which are rooted in its own rich historical legacies, have meaningful implications for other developing countries.

Abstract:The centennial exploration of the Chinese road started with the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). This road is essentially characterized by modernization and adapting Marxism to the Chinese context. The fundamental correlation between China's modernization and Marxism lies in the fact that China must go through a thorough social revolution to lay the foundation for its modernization cause, which charted a historical course from new democracy to socialism. However, only adapting Marxism to the Chinese context can help China's modernization, because it is this philosophy that is intrinsically related to China's practice in revolution, construction and reform. The contemporary form of adapting Marxism to the Chinese context is socialism with Chinese characteristics, which holds great significance for both the Chinese nation and international socialism and the overall development of human society in the new historical phase. This is a kind of "significance for world history" because the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation lies not only in its own development into a modern power, but also in the fact that it is actively opening up the possibility of a new type of civilization besides completing the modernization mission and obtaining achievements from modern civilization.

Abstract:The road of national development is the forward track for the country to achieve revival and go to prosperity. Road selection is related to the guiding ideology of the ruling, to the arrangements of system selection, to the adaptability of the practice of governance with the ruling regime. Abstract:Modernization is the process of transformation and development from traditional agricultural society to modern industrial society and information society. A necessary path and inevitable choice for human society in its development to an advanced stage, modernization represents the direction of progress and driving force of development for human civilization. At once a reflection and critique, a dialectical sublation, and an overall transcendence of traditional society, modernization is led by an advanced class that embodies the contemporary spirit. For its promotion, modernization relies principally on the three levers of science and technology, capital, and the market, and as its goal, it posits the realization of industrialization, urbanization, and informatization. Led by the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Chinese path to modernization is socialist in its essence, and possesses not only the common properties of modernization, but also Chinese characteristics based on China's particular national conditions. Specifically, this path embodies the people-centered concept of modernization, is committed to achieving all-round human development and social progress, surpasses the object-centered model of Western modernization guided by the logic of capital, and provides a new choice and development direction for humanity in achieving modernization.

Abstract:The Chinese path to modernization shares characteristics with modernization in all countries,but it also has the characteristics based on its own national conditions. Common prosperity is an important feature and essential requirement of the Chinese path to modernization. This journal presents a series of written discussions on the major issues in this area such as the universality of common prosperity,the Chinese path to modernization,and the provincial first exploration of practice pathways. People-centered modernization leads to common prosperity. The fundamental pathway for human modernization is to improve the allocation of rights and opportunities to achieve the general equality of capabilities. The team of private entrepreneurs in Zhejiang is a valuable resource and bearer of high-quality development and common prosperity in Zhejiang. The high-quality development of the private economy is related to the Chinese path to modernization. Abstract:To examine the directions and developmental process of China's socialist construction at a time when the Chinese economy is growing rapidly despite the current world economic crisis is an act of no ordinary significance. Broadly speaking, China's sixty years of socialist construction can be divided into two phases: the first thirty years from 1949 to 1979 and the second thirty from 1979 to 2009. The first thirty years of China's socialist revolution and construction laid a solid foundation for the reform and opening up of the next thirty years, a period in which China's continued exploration of new directions led to spectacular achievements. History teaches us that the linchpin of building socialism is not whether you have a detailed blueprint for socialism, but whether you have a grand vision for understanding socialism and the courage to direct socialist construction. Although China today faces many problems and even grave challenges, we will open up an ever wider path for socialism with Chinese characteristics so long as our country adheres to the direction of socialism.

Abstract:China's proposal of the significant "the Belt and Road" in the new historical period holds profound significance for the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. Promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization is a key element in the report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Therefore, promoting high-quality "the Belt and Road" development is not only a crucial step towards advancing high-level opening-up but also of paramount importance in achieving Chinese-style modernization. Based on a thorough summary and elaboration of related concepts and theories, this thesis deeply analyzes the logic behind advancing "the Belt and Road" under the new journey of Chinese-style modernization from four aspects: policy, industry, technology, and finance. Abstract:Chinese modernization is formed in the historical process that adapts Marxism to the Chinese context and to the needs of our times. It represents a great initiative of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese people. Chinese modernization has broken through the problematic model of capital-centered modernization found in Western countries, and has established a model of people-centered socialist modernization that has enormous global importance.
