Abstract:A highly diastereoselective [3 + 2] cycloaddition of aziridines with difluorinated silyl enol ethers has been developed. This approach provides a facile methodology for highly functionalized gem-difluorinated pyrrolidines in good to excellent yields with good functional group tolerance. A one-pot, two-step approach for synthesis of structurally interesting fluorinated pyrroles has also been developed through a cycloaddition/aromatization/desulfonation sequence. Moreover, readily available substrates, mild reaction conditions, and easy scale-up synthesis show practical advantages.

A diverse range of functional groups are tolerated in this type of reaction. The reaction mechanism investigation indicates that the highly reactive phenyl cation intermediate is probably involved in this process. Abstract:A new type of metal-free [5+1] cycloaddition reactions of donor-acceptor aziridines with 2-(2-isocyanoethyl)indoles were reported herein. The method exhibited broad substrate scope and atom-economy. A series of 2H-1,4-oxazines containing indole heterocycles skeleton were obtained in up to 92% yield under mild reaction conditions. Control experiments revealed that free indole N-H is crucial for the above transformations. The theoretical calculations studies provided guidance on the in-depth insight into the reaction mechanism and hydrogen-bond between free indole N-H and carbonyl group was identified to lower the free energy barrier in transition states.

Abstract:In this work, a mild and straightforward approach to synthesize various substituted 2‐arylallylmalonates from readily available donor‐acceptor (D‐A) cyclobutanes in the presence of thiourea is reported. The scope and limitations of this reaction of D‐A cyclobutane components are explored. A straightforward access to various substituted 2‐arylallylmalonates from readily available donor‐Acceptor (D‐A) cyclobutanes catalyzed by Al(OTf)3 in the presence of thiourea is reported. This is a new and convenient approach for isomerization of donor‐acceptor cyclobutanes into 2‐arylallylmalonates.
