Abstract:Constructive dualities have been recently proposed for some lattice based algebras and a related project has been outlined by Holliday and Bezhanishvili, aiming at obtaining "choice-free spatial dualities for other classes of algebras [$\ldots$], giving rise to choice-free completeness proofs for non-classical logics''. We present in this article a way to complete the Holliday-Bezhanishvili project (uniformly, for any normal lattice expansion) by recasting recent relational representation and duality results in a choice-free manner. These results have some affinity with the Moshier and Jipsen duality for bounded lattices with quasi-operators, except for aiming at representing operators by relations, extending the Jónsson-Tarski approach for BAOs, and Dunn's follow up approach for distributive gaggles, to contexts where distribution may not be assumed. To illustrate, we apply the framework to lattices (and their logics) with some form or other of a (quasi)complementation operator, obtaining canonical extensions in relational frames and choice-free dualities for lattices with a minimal, or a Galois quasi-complement, or involutive lattices, including De Morgan algebras, as well as Ortholattices and Boolean algebras, as special cases.

Abstract:A distributive lattice structure ${\mathbf M}(G)$ has been established on the set of perfect matchings of a plane bipartite graph $G$. We call a lattice {\em matchable distributive lattice} (simply MDL) if it is isomorphic to such a distributive lattice. It is natural to ask which lattices are MDLs. We show that if a plane bipartite graph $G$ is elementary, then ${\mathbf M}(G)$ is irreducible. Based on this result, a decomposition theorem on MDLs is obtained: a finite distributive lattice $\mathbf{L}$ is an MDL if and only if each factor in any cartesian product decomposition of $\mathbf{L}$ is an MDL. Two types of MDLs are presented: $J(\mathbf{m}\times \mathbf{n})$ and $J(\mathbf{T})$, where $\mathbf{m}\times \mathbf{n}$ denotes the cartesian product between $m$-element chain and $n$-element chain, and $\mathbf{T}$ is a poset implied by any orientation of a tree.

Abstract:We first introduce the definitions of weak semi-Hopf group coalgebras, weak group entwining structures and weak group coalgebra Galois extensions, then we state that any weak group coalgebra. Galois extension induces a weak group entwining map compatible with the right group coaction. Notice that when the group is trivial our results axe just those of weak entwining structures in [3], at the same time they are also a generalization of group coalgebra Galois extensions and group entwining structures introduced by Shuan-hong Wang in [9].

Abstract:Let G be a real reductive group with an involution σ on it. Let H be an open subgroup of Gσ with a character χ on it. Associated to a “theta stable”, “σ-split” parabolic subalgebra, and using the Zuckerman functor, we construct representations of G together with χ-equivariant linear functionals on them. We apply this construction to prove a non-vanishing hypothesis of H. Grobner and A. Raghuram in the study of algebraicity of critical L-values.

Abstract:We give a new, direct proof of the tetrachotomy classification for the model-checking problem of positive equality-free logic parameterised by the model. The four complexity classes are Logspace, NP-complete, co-NP-complete and Pspace-complete. The previous proof of this result relied on notions from universal algebra and core-like structures called U-X-cores. This new proof uses only relations, and works for infinite structures also in the distinction between Logspace and NP-hard under Turing reductions. For finite domains, the membership in NP and co-NP follows from a simple argument, which breaks down already over an infinite set with a binary relation. We develop some interesting new algorithms to solve NP and co-NP membership for a variety of infinite structures. We begin with those first-order definable in (Q;=), the so-called equality languages, then move to those first-order definable in (Q;<), the so-called temporal languages. However, it is first-order expansions of the Random Graph (V,E) that provide the most interesting examples. In all of these cases, the derived classification is a tetrachotomy between Logspace, NP-complete, co-NP-complete and Pspace-complete.

Abstract:Lattice theory has close connections with modal logic via algebraic semantics and lattices of modal logics. However, one less explored direction is to view lattices as relational structures based on partial orders, and study the modal logic over them. In this paper, following the earlier steps of Burgess and van Benthem in the 1980s, we use the basic tense logic and its nominal extensions with binary modalities of infimum and supremum to talk about lattices via standard Kripke semantics. As the main results, we obtain a series of complete axiomatizations of lattices, (un)bounded lattices over partial orders or strict preorders. In particular, we solve an axiomatization problem left open by Burgess (1984).

Abstract:Aristotelian diagrams, such as the square of opposition and other, more complex diagrams, have a long history in philosophical logic. Alpha-structures and ladders are two specific kinds of Aristotelian diagrams, which are often studied together because of their close interactions. The present paper builds upon this research line, by reformulating and investigating alpha-structures and ladders in the contemporary setting of logical geometry, a mathematically sophisticated framework for studying Aristotelian diagrams. In particular, this framework allows us to formulate well-defined functions that construct alpha-structures and ladders out of each other. In order to achieve this, we point out the crucial importance of imposing an ordering on the elements in the diagrams involved, and thus formulate all our results in terms of ordered versions of alpha-structures and ladders. These results shed interesting new light on the prospects of developing a systematic classification of Aristotelian diagrams, which is one of the main ongoing research efforts within logical geometry today.

Abstract:Every Sahlqvist formula is an elementary complete one.If we take Sahlqvist formulae as addition axioms to the minimal normal modal logic K,we get a strong elementary logic,namely Sahlqvist logic.In this paper we discuss properties of the class of Sahlqvist logics S.It is closed under intersection and another set operation that can be looked upon as logical union,so that S forms a lattice.Let E denote the class of logics K(?)fin_(mn).It is easy to determine that E is a subclass of S.We can deduce that every K(?)fin_(mn) is a canonical logic,following from the Sahlqvist theorem.We can also get the same result by studying properties of the canonical frame of K(?)fin_(mn).E is an interesting subclass of S.It is a sublattice of S.It has a regular geometric form, in which there are infinite length chains,but every antichain in E is finite.Besides, the well known tabular logics are closely related to E,for every tabular logic is an extension of some K(?)fin_(mn).From the result that E has infinite length chains,we can easily know that S also has infinite length antichain.We can prove that in the class {K(?)~i□p→□(?)~ip|i<ω},every logic is not contained in others,so that this class is an infinite length antichain of S,which is different from the result of E.The incomplete degree is an important concept when we study logical lattices.Usually,it is not easy to study the incomplete degree problems.However,we can easily conclude that the incomplete degree of Sahlqvist logic respect to the lattice S is 1.

The logic of this structure is discussed and the Genzten-style sequent calculus of it is presented. Moreover, we prove the decidability of this logic.

Abstract:Furstenberg–Zimmer structure theory refers to the extension of the dichotomy between the compact and weakly mixing parts of a measure-preserving dynamical system and the algebraic and geometric descriptions of such parts to a conditional setting, where such dichotomy is established relative to a factor and conditional analogs of those algebraic and geometric descriptions are sought. Although the unconditional dichotomy and the characterizations are known for arbitrary systems, the relative situation is understood under certain countability and separability hypotheses on the underlying groups and spaces. The aim of this article is to remove these restrictions in the relative situation and establish a Furstenberg–Zimmer structure theory in full generality. As an independent byproduct, we establish a connection between the relative analysis of systems in ergodic theory and the internal logic in certain Boolean topoi.

Abstract:G-structures and Cartan geometries are two major approaches to the description of geometric structures (in the sense of differential geometry) on manifolds of some fixed dimension $n$. We show that both descriptions naturally extend to the setting of manifolds of dimension $\geq n$ which are endowed with a distinguished involutive distribution $F$ of rank $n$. The resulting ``partial'' structures are most naturally interpreted as smooth families of standard G-structures or Cartan geometries on the leaves of the foliation defined by $F$. We prove that for the special class of AHS-structures (also known as $|1|$-graded parabolic geometries) the construction of a canonical Cartan geometry associated to a G-structure extends to this general setting. As an application, we prove that for partial AHS-structures there is an analog of the machinery of BGG sequences. This constructs sequences of differential operators of arbitrarily high order intrinsic to the structures. Under appropriate flatness conditions, these sequence are fine resolutions of sheaves which locally can be realized as pullbacks of sheaves on local leaf spaces for the foliation defined by $F$.

The General Apple Property and Boolean terms in Integral Bounded Residuated Lattice-ordered Commutative Monoids

Abstract:In this paper we give equational presentations of the varieties of {\em integral bounded residuated lattice-ordered commutative monoids} (bounded residuated lattices for short) satisfying the \emph{General Apple Property} (GAP), that is, varieties in which all of its directly indecomposable members are local. This characterization is given by means of Boolean terms: \emph{A variety $\mathsf{V}$ of \brl s has GAP iff there is an unary term $b(x)$ such that $\mathsf{V}$ satisfies the equations $b(x)\lor\neg b(x)\approx \top$ and $(x^k\to b(x))\cdot(b(x)\to k.x)\approx \top$, for some $k>0$}. Using this characterization, we show that for any variety $\mathsf{V}$ of bounded residuated lattice satisfying GAP there is $k>0$ such that the equation $k.x\lor k.\neg x\approx \top$ holds in $\mathsf{V}$, that is, $\mathsf{V} \subseteq \mathsf{WL_\mathsf{k}}$. As a consequence we improve Theorem 5.7 of \cite{CT12}, showing in theorem that a\emph{ variety of \brls\ has Boolean retraction term if and only if there is $k>0$ such that it satisfies the equation $k.x^k\lor k.(\neg x)^k\approx\top$.} We also see that in Bounded residuated lattices GAP is equivalent to Boolean lifting property (BLP) and so, it is equivalent to quasi-local property (in the sense of \cite{GLM12}). Finally, we prove that a variety of \brl s has GAP and its semisimple members form a variety if and only if there exists an unary term which is simultaneously Boolean and radical for this variety.

Abstract:This paper proposes the concept of generalized L systems, GL systems for short, which can describe asynchronized concurrent phenomena. We have proved that the GL systems are proper extensions of the traditional L systems. We have also defined a classification of GL systems and proved a sufficient and necessary condition for the equivalence of two subclasses of GL systems: two GPD0L (a class of deterministic GL systems) systems L[m 1, m 2, …, m j ] and L[n 1, n 2, …, n k ] are equivalent, iff k = j and there exists a common divisor g of all m l and a common divisor h of all n l such that ∀ i: m i/g = n i/h.

Abstract:In this dissertation, we present for each natural number $k$, semantic characterizations of the $\exists^k \forall^*$ and $\forall^k \exists^*$ prefix classes of first order logic sentences, over all structures finite and infinite. This result, that we call the *generalized Łoś-Tarski theorem*, abbreviated $\mathsf{GLT}(k)$, yields the classical Łoś-Tarski preservation theorem when $k$ equals 0. It also provides new characterizations of the $\Sigma^0_2$ and $\Pi^0_2$ prefix classes, that are finer than all characterizations of these classes in the literature. Further, our semantic notions are finitary in nature, in contrast to those contained in the literature characterizations. In the context of finite structures, we formulate an abstract combinatorial property of structures, that when satisfied by a class, ensures that $\mathsf{GLT}(k)$ holds over the class. This property, that we call the *Equivalent Bounded Substructure Property*, abbreviated $\mathsf{EBSP}$, intuitively states that a large structure contains a small "logically similar" substructure. It turns out that this simply stated property is enjoyed by a variety of classes of interest in computer science: examples include words, trees (unordered, ordered or ranked), nested words, graph classes of bounded tree-depth/shrub-depth, and $m$-partite cographs. Further, $\mathsf{EBSP}$ remains preserved under various well-studied operations, such as complementation, transpose, the line-graph operation, disjoint union, cartesian and tensor products, etc. This enables constructing a wide spectrum of classes that satisfy $\mathsf{EBSP}$, and hence $\mathsf{GLT}(k)$. Remarkably, $\mathsf{EBSP}$ can be regarded as a finitary analogue of the classical downward Löwenheim-Skolem property. In summary, this dissertation provides new notions and results in both contexts, that of all structures and that of finite structures.

On the existence of analytic families of G-stable lattices and their reductions

Abstract:In this article, we prove the existence of rigid analytic families of $G$-stable lattices with locally constant reductions inside families of representations of a topologically compact group $G$, extending a result of Hellman obtained in the semi-simple residual case. Implementing this generalization in the context of Galois representations, we prove a local constancy result for reductions modulo prime powers of trianguline representations of generic dimension $d$. Moreover, we present two explicit applications. First, in dimension two, we extend to a prime power setting and to the whole rigid projective line a recent result of Bergdall, Levin and Liu concerning reductions of semi-stable representations of $\text{Gal}(\overline{\mathbb{Q}}_p / \mathbb{Q}_p)$ with fixed Hodge-Tate weights and large $\mathcal{L}$-invariant. Second, in dimension $d$, let $V_n$ be a sequence of crystalline representations converging in a certain geometric sense to a crystalline representation $V$. We show that for any refined version $(V, \sigma)$ of $V$ (or equivalently for any chosen triangulation of its attached $(\varphi, \Gamma)$-module $D_{\text{rig}} (V)$ over the Robba ring), there exists a sequence of refinement $\sigma_n$ of each of the $V_n$ such that the limit as refined representations $(V_n , \sigma_n )$ converges to the $(V, \sigma)$. This result does not hold under the weaker assumption that $V_n$ converges only uniformly $p$-adically to $V$ (in the sense of Chenevier, Khare and Larsen).

Abstract:It is known that a (concept) lattice contains an n-dimensional Boolean suborder if and only if the context contains an n-dimensional contra-nominal scale as subcontext. In this work, we investigate more closely the interplay between the Boolean subcontexts of a given finite context and the Boolean suborders of its concept lattice. To this end, we define mappings from the set of subcontexts of a context to the set of suborders of its concept lattice and vice versa and study their structural properties. In addition, we introduce closed-subcontexts as an extension of closed relations to investigate the set of all sublattices of a given lattice.

Abstract:There are standard logics DTC, TC, and LFP capturing the complexity classes L, NL, and P on ordered structures, respectively. In [4] we have shown that LFP_{inv}, the ``order-invariant least fixed-point logic LFP,'' captures P (on all finite structures) if and only if there is a listing of the P subsets of the set TAUT of propositional tautologies. We are able to extend the result to listings of the L-subsets (NL-subsets) of TAUT and the logic DTC_{inv} (TC_{inv}). As a byproduct we get that LFP_{inv} captures P if DTC_{inv} captures L. Furthermore, we show that the existence of a listing of the L-subsets of TAUT is equivalent to the existence of an almost space optimal algorithm for TAUT. To obtain this result we have to derive a space version of a theorem of Levin on optimal inverters.
Decomposition and Structure theorems for Garside-like groups with modular lattice structure

Abstract:Despite being a vast generalization of Garside groups, right $\ell$-groups with noetherian lattice structure and strong order unit share a lot of the properties of Garside groups. In the present work, we prove that every modular noetherian right $\ell$-group with strong order unit decomposes as a direct product of beams, which are sublattices that correspond to the directly indecomposable factors of the strong order interval. Furthermore, we show that the beams of dimension $\delta \geq 4$ can be coordinatized by the $R$-lattices in $Q^{\delta}$, where $Q$ is a noncommutative discrete valuation field with valuation ring $R$. In particular, this gives a precise description of a very big family of modular Garside groups.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a compact simple Lie group equipped with the left invariant framing $L$. It is known that there are several groups $G$ such that $(G, L)$ is non-null framed bordant. Previously we gave an alternative proof of these results using the decomposition formula of its bordism class into a Kronecker product by E. Ossa. In this note we propose a verification formula by reconsidering it, through a little more ingenious in the use of this product formula, and try to apply it to the non-null bordantness results above.
