Abstract:At present, with the continuous deterioration of the ecological environment and the gradual deepening of human understanding of the relationship between man and nature, the construction of an ecological city has become the trend and inevitable urban construction in the future. Finding harmonious development among cities, human beings, and the natural environment through the construction of the ecological environment is an inevitable choice for human and urban development. In order to provide sufficient theoretical exploration for the construction of ecological cities, this paper first introduced the two important concepts of ecological environment and environmental engineering and the necessity of ecological construction. Abstract:This review article discusses the relationships between ecology and ecological civilization,describes the conflicted behaves with ecological civilization,and documents the ecological ways to construct ecological civilization.Ecological science is closely coupled with Ecological Civilization Construction(ECC);the former is a scientific base of the latter,while ECC provides opportunities and platforms for the former.The major behaves that conflict with ecological civilization include polluting environments,over-using nature,over-consuming resource,and destroying natural habitats.There are many ways for ECC,such as enhancement of ecological education and ecological popularization,application of ecological knowledge and achievements in national key development projects,participation of ecological experts in administrations of governments and factories/companies,and promotion of research on national ecological strategies,ecological risk assessments,and ecological predictions.

Abstract:The construction of ecological civilization in China is not only a discourse, but also a practical strategy. At the same time, it is also a Marxist response put forward by China in the process of promoting its own economic and social practice. This response has concentrated on achieving "the harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature." What exactly is ecological civilization (<i>shengtai wenming</i>)? This is the first theoretical issue that needs clarification. Furthermore, why is ecological civilization popular in China, but not ecological modernization theory, organic Marxism, ecological Marxism, or something else? At present, China's ecological environment is facing enormous challenges and pressures, and it also presents corresponding opportunities and factors of change. This seems to explain why there is a wave of ecological civilization construction in China. In this context, China needs to adjust its strategy and make some changes, including focusing on the quality of urbanization and strengthening of urban and rural integration, promoting public participation in environmental governance, building a green economy and strengthening ecological legislation to truly move towards ecological civilization.

Abstract:Ecological civilization is to normalize human development behaviors to harmonize the relationships between social and ecological development and eco-environment protection. In this paper, a comparative analysis was made on the ecological demonstration activities of ecological demonstration areas led by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, exemplar cities of national environmental protection, and ecological provinces, cities, and counties. It was considered that all the ecological demonstration activities had the problems of lacking pertinence of construction goals, disordered construction subjects, inefficient construction processes, and lacking continuous incentive mechanisms of assessment. In the meantime, through the analysis of the connotations of eco-civilization, the relationships between eco-civilization and eco-demonstration constructions were approached, and the eco-civilization construction mode was put forward in terms of construction goal, construction subject, and construction processes and assessment. The construction mode included the construction goal based on regional characteristics; the synergistic cooperation of construction subjects, the expanding ways of public participation, and the establishment of evaluation system for comprehensively measuring the 'actions and results'.

Abstract:After the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics entered a new era. However, the contradiction between China's economic and social development and the sustainable development of environment is still outstanding. That is mainly due to the fact that China pays some attention to the economic development but neglects the ecological protection to a certain extent. In the report of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, it is clearly proposed that it is necessary to adhere to the harmonious coexistence between man and nature, and to establish the concept of green development firmly, focusing on solving the problem of the environmental pollution and destruction and other outstanding issues, and strengthening the construction of the ecological environment supervision system, and the legal guarantee of the construction of ecological civilization. Only by adhering to the concept of ecological civilization in the new era can we finally realize the fundamental improvement of ecological environment.

Abstract:Landscape planning is clearly ecologically and socially relevant. Concern about sustainability between human and environment is now a driving paradigm for this professional. However, the explosion of the sustainable landscape in China is a very recent phenomenon. What is the sustainable landscape? How is this realized in practice? In this article, on the basis of the reviews of history and perplexities of Chinese landscape and nature analysis of sustainable landscape, the ecothinking model, an implemental tool for sustainable landscape, was developed, which applies ecothinking in vision, culture, conservation and development of site, and the process of public participation for a harmonious relationship between human and environment. And a case study of the south entrance of TongNiuling Scenic Area was carried out, in which the most optimum scenario was chosen from among three models according to the ecothinking model, to illustrate the construction of the ecothinking model and how to achieve a sustainable landscape.
