Abstract:This paper aims to grasp the current situation of Korean education in colleges and universities in China, and to analyze the main problems and challenges as well as to put forward suggestions for future improvement. This paper first divides the development history of Korean education in China into four periods, and then analyzes the current situation of Korean education in China before pointing out its main characteristics and problems. Based on the above discussions, this paper puts forward some suggestions on the development of Korean education in China from seven aspects: the development direction, the training of teachers, the construction of teaching materials, the cultivation of graduate students, the reinforcement of academic communications, the development of Korean teaching and research, and the diversification of Korean education.

Abstract:China’s launch of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) has had profound linguistic implications on its foreign language education policy. Successful foreign language programs are vital to any country’s national security and global interest promotion. An analysis of China’s current foreign language education with the BRI compliance will provide the backdrop for this paper’s suggestions. The challenges and opportunities associated with the development of foreign language education in today’s China will be analyzed under these four aspects: 1) improving in the variety and quality of foreign language education, 2) developing students’ international and intercultural competence, 3) deepening general education in target languages, and 4) strengthening English as the lingua franca for expertise training. Even with the significant progress made thus far since 40 years of “Reform and Opening-up”, China still has a long way to go in developing its national foreign language capacity to serve its expanding national interests for development.

Abstract:From the start of reforming and opening to the outside world,China's education reform has been gradually enlarged and deepened,like reforms in other social fields.Education reform has greatly promoted the development of all kinds of public education and made important historical achievement.This paper divides the history of China's education reform into four stages,that is,(i) the preparation of education reform and restoration of education system(1978-1984);(ii) the inauguration and steady advancement(1985-1992);(iii) the all-round execution and rapid development of education(1993-1998);(iv) the continuous deepening and complete promotion of education quality(1999-2008).Based upon such retrospect,this paper analyses the characteristics of China's education reform in the past 30 years,including its nature,background recognition,road choice and value assumptions.It generalizes that the 30 years education reform is part of the whole social reforms and a kind of political enterprise.The fundamental dynamics originates from objective needs of economical growth and scientific researches.The road of education reform is top-down.The value assumptions emphasize the orientation of nationalism and economicism.Considering the new changes in social and educational development,this paper proposes some ideas and suggestions about further steps in ten or fifteen years,such as more unifications between education reform and other social reforms,more completeness of background recognition,more choices of reform ways and more humanisticality in respect of value assumption.

Abstract:Under the policy “reform admission and management for foreign students” promoted by Chinese government from 1990s, the admission system construction for foreign students of primary and secondary schools becomes an unneglectable issue. At present, there is a discrepancy existing between regulation and facts that the “international students’ division” was established noncompliance with the principle “learning in regular class”. The main reason is that it is more convenient to do necessary Chinese language instruction at “international students’ division”. In view of the above, this paper clarifies the problems on Chinese language education through analysis of relative policies and regulations at national and local level as well as investigating on 6 typical primary and secondary schools in Shanghai. According to the empirical research, the actual situation of Chinese language education for foreign students in primary and secondary schools has been revealed , such as the shortage of TCFL teacher, no amiable teaching materials and insufficient financial support etc. In conclusion, this paper proposed some suggestions to improve Chinese language education like training and allocation of TCFL teachers or development of professional TCFL materials adaptive to students in primary and secondary schools under the educational administration financial supports and so on.

Abstract:For more than 20 years the People's Republic of China has engaged in a significant transformation of its economy and social institutions, including its education system. This article provides a general picture of what changes have taken place in Chinese teacher education at a time of rapid transition from central control to devolved and distributed management and decision making, along with the country's shift from a planned economy to a socialist market one. Two major topics of this work focus on how institutions of higher and teacher education respond to the challenges of the changing environment, and on the major trends, priorities and direction of recent education reform. Embedded in the discussion are issues such as the merger and amalgamation of institutions, teachers' professional development under the auspices of market and knowledge economy, educational information, internationalisation and others, and their effects on Chinese teacher education both in the short and the long term.

Abstract:In the new era, Sino-foreign cooperative education requires new actions. To be specific, relevant systems should be formulated and implemented. As for the current Sino-foreign cooperative education system, on the one hand, China actively promotes the development of Sino-foreign cooperative education with both laws and policies. On the other hand, the quality of Sino-foreign cooperative education does not match its increase in quantity, which results from many existing problems in current systems. Therefore, efforts should be made to establish and improve relevant legal systems, strengthen government supervision, and coordinate Sino-foreign educational cooperation in an overall manner in the new era. These improvement solutions will help promote increase in both the quantity and the quality of school running, train international talents with national consciousness, serve the Belt and Road, and build a community of a shared future for mankind.

Abstract:This paper reviews on the topic of foreign language education policies in China from 1949 to 2023. It mainly focuses on English and Russian. In this paper, the timeline is separated by three important timepoint. The first important section is in 1949. As the People's Republic of China came into being, complicated and convoluted foreign language education policies in China started to emerge. The second important section is in 1978. In this year, Chinese government launched the famous national strategy of reform and opening up, and thus many changes in Chinese foreign language education policy happened. The third important section is in 2021, and in this year, Chinese government launched the Double Reduction Policy. This is a policy aiming to alleviate students' homework burden and off campus training burden in the compulsory educational stage. This policy uses various kinds of measures to reduce students' burden in academic learning, help families who cannot afford luxurious after-class tutoring fee, and enable children to have more time and space needed for all round development. In general, this paper concludes the development of foreign language education policies in China from 1949 to 2023 and gives some points in economic and historical effects to English and Russian learning during this historical process.

Abstract:Against the backdrop of growing national strength and rapid economic development, the government has placed more emphasis on education. In recent years, remarkable achievements have been registered in terms of education in China, which lays a solid foundation for cultivating comprehensive professionally-trained personnel in the new era. However, the current education system is ridden with many setbacks and problems. This paper conducts an analysis of the specific conditions of education both at home and abroad, status quo of education in China, makes some reflections on the direction and measures of China's education reform based on the practical reality of education in China. Measures should be taken to inject personalities into the traditional, exam-oriented education system, which keeps pace with the new era. As is known to all, it's important to strike a balance between public education and non-government funded education in a scientific and reasonable manner. The overhauling of traditional education policies will pave the way for China's educational renaissance and realize the great blueprint of the Chinese dream.
