Abstract:Knowledge service is critical to enterprise collaboration in cluster supply chain. However, current cluster enterprises have limited capabilities for knowledge sharing. In order to address the knowledge service needs of cluster supply chain, this paper proposes a novel semantic-based knowledge service approach. In the approach, a multi-level knowledge model is presented to achieve uniform and flexible representation for cluster public knowledge and enterprise private knowledge, which further forms complex knowledge network for cluster supply chain. Then the knowledge collaboration mechanism is utilized to support knowledge collaborative creating and enriching, and cooperative sharing. In addition, the knowledge access control scheme is employed to ensure high security. To demonstrate the practicality of the proposed approach, a knowledge service platform is implemented, including several core services such as knowledge collaborative editing, retrieval and visual navigation, etc. Applications show that this platform can support knowledge sharing between enterprises effectively and further promote the development of cluster supply chain efficiently.

Abstract:A new KSP (Knowledge Service Provider)-based collaboration model for CAPP in networked manufacturing environment is proposed. Built on web services on the Semantic Web, a semantic architecture is presented to describe capabilities of knowledge services for CAPP. According to the concept of work flow, a new technology of knowledge service flow for CAPP is explored to realize automatic management of service processes in this model. Finally, a method of service matching is discussed and its algorithm is provided. This model has produced satisfactory effects in practice.

Abstract:In China, the advent of knowledge economy requires changes of traditional construction supply chain process by innovative ways. While in the time that knowledge is power, some construction companies and organization have designed and implemented Knowledge Management (hereafter KM) with success and many researchers paid attention to KM in construction industry or among construction supply chain participants. However, there is no quantity prove of die proposition that knowledge share will improve Construction Supply Chain (hereafter CSC) integration. In proposing this perspective on the concept of knowledge share, this paper starts with the review of the formal research of construction supply chain management and KM in construction, finding that in order to develop effective knowledge share, we need to consider knowledge context. We consider the problems of supporting knowledge share between heterogeneous construction supply chain participants, which have been recognized as the critical source of innovation in them. We introduce a model for knowledge share among CSC participants by putting a context factor as a possible solution, and describe it in a mathematical model and prove it by means of system dynamic theory. We find that the proposition is right that knowledge share can improve CSC integration. Finally, based on the mathematic analysis, this paper gives the impact factors of knowledge share.

Abstract:Complex Product and System(CoPS) involves the knowledge of multi-organization and multi-discipline,requiring knowledge sharing and cooperation among different organizations.An inter-organization knowledge cooperation network would be established,supporting complex product development and innovation.The activities of knowledge management in CoPS are analyzed and inter-organization knowledge supernetwork model is constructed.Firstly,with the help of Web2.0 technologies,inter-organization knowledge sharing model is built.Secondly,based on the model,the theories and methodologies of supernetwork enable us to establish an inter-organization knowledge supernetwork model.Finally,the applications of inter-organization knowledge supernetwork model in CoPS are discussed.

Abstract:PurposeThis paper aims to propose a new knowledge creation model called Grey SECI (G-SECI), study the knowledge creation mechanism and the relationship between knowledge creation models and innovation performance during complex product systems (CoPSs) development. Research and development of CoPSs relies heavily on knowledge creation. However, most scholars have studied CoPS innovation stages from the view of design process of system products, focussing on functional management and project management during the R&D process for CoPS. Attention is lacking with regards to the key and essence of creating a complex technology: the creation of knowledge.Design/methodology/approachModified from the classic SECI model’s spiral process of knowledge creation, a grey-SECI (G-SECI) knowledge creation model is here proposed vis-à-vis three knowledge categories: explicit knowledge, grey knowledge and tacit knowledge. Then, this paper further analyzes the effects of knowledge creation from the perspective of individual and the view of organization. Besides, an empirical study is conducted.FindingsStatistical analysis indicates that there are three main paths of knowledge creation: individual experience knowledge acquisition, individual communication and reflection and organizational knowledge learning. Results further suggest that knowledge internalization by practice (KIP) is the key mode of knowledge creation, as well as the most important step for high-quality CoPS performance. Moreover, individual innovation performance is influenced by knowledge internalization by reflection and KIP; and organization innovation performance is influenced by knowledge combination and knowledge systematization.Research limitations/implicationsThe coverage of geographical distribution is limited. Therefore, there are no data from foreign enterprises. The impact of different geographical cultures on CoPS knowledge creation model could be further investigated; in addition, the statistical analysis results of this study need to be further verified in other industries.Practical implicationsThis paper provides a series of insights for CoPS project leaders. The results may also provide practical guidance for the related management personnel in the fields of human resource training, project planning, project quality and technology R&D in CoPS R&D management.Originality/valueThe paper’s main contribution is to modify classic SECI knowledge conversion model by introducing grey knowledge and build a new G-SECI knowledge creation model. Besides, the paper adds empirical evidence on the knowledge creation paths in CoPS and reveals that internalization by practice is the key mode of knowledge creation.

Abstract:In the knowledge economy the one sure source of lasting competitive advantage is knowledge. In the theoretical field, interest in knowledge management has grown dramatically. In the business community, organizations are coming to regard knowledge-based intangible assets such as technological know-how and innovation as their most valuable and strategic resource, and they are also increasingly realizing that they must effectively and efficiently manage and cultivate their knowledge and competencies to maintain sustainable competitive advantage. However, there is scarcity on knowledge strategy toward dynamically integrating technological innovation with knowledge management in academic and practical domain. Therefore, based on some theories such as technological innovation, strategic management, transaction cost economics, organizational learning and knowledge management, the framework of knowledge strategy and the model of knowledge-based communities of creation are put forward and analyzed empirically in this paper. Several important knowledge management practices to push technological innovation process are discussed.

Abstract:To realize integration between context and other components of Knowledge Management (KM), a model of Knowledge Management Integrating Context (KMIC) was proposed. This model was composed of four main KM components: knowledge context, knowledge process, knowledge (item) and knowledge agent. The modeling methods for these components and the relationships among them were described. The architecture of KMIC-based KM system was constructed. In this architecture, KMIC index base, KMIC service, KMIC engine were introduced to deal with the context and its relevant information to endow KM system with context sensitivity. Finally, the benefits from the applications of KMIC and KMIC-based system in KM were analyzed and suggested.

Abstract:Effective supply chain management requires successful knowledge sharing among multiple participating stakeholders, which is particularly important when each entity holds heterogeneous knowledge sources. However, very little research has been conducted to investigate knowledge sharing in supply chain management, especially inter-organizational knowledge integration from the technological or system perspectives. In the current study, we fill the gap in the literature by analyzing the characteristics and requirements of knowledge sharing in supply chains and proposing new knowledge sharing methods based on semantic web technology. We extend RDF/OWL for representing knowledge and design a query language based on this representing method. We also provide automatic combinatorial query and results integration functions to search the relevant knowledge distributed in supply chain and integrate heterogeneous knowledge from, multiple entities based on semantic reasoning and transformation.

Abstract:PurposeSupply chain integration (SCI) dominates supply chain strategy and is receiving increasing academic attention. The purpose of this paper is to provide a systematic review of the knowledge trajectory and structure of the SCI field.Design/methodology/approachBased on 3,533 papers extracted from the Web of Science (WoS), this paper adopts the main path analysis (MPA) method to detect three distinct knowledge development trajectories. Coupling-based clustering is combined with MPA to reveal three critical subfields.FindingsThe findings show that the definition, content and dimensions of SCI lack unified conclusions. The influencing factors and performance consequences of SCI are long-standing research elements. Building theoretical models and integrated systems and applying blockchain technology to improve SCI are the key research contents. The intertwining of collaboration and SCI cannot be ignored, and the green SCI may be a hot topic in the future.Research limitations/implicationsThis study explores knowledge in the SCI field based on the limited literature collected by WoS rather than all published papers. The omissions of some relevant papers and books may exist.Practical implicationsThe study methodology provides a framework for similar studies in the future, and the results help researchers to get a comprehensive picture of the knowledge trajectory and structure of the SCI field.Originality/valueCompared to existing reviews, MPA combines cluster analysis to develop a synthetic framework of the knowledge trajectory and structure in the SCI domain. It contributes to a systematic review of the development of SCI.

Consequently, this paper analysis restrictive factor of supply chain strategy alliance operation firstly. And then, based on the thought of Knowledge Management, an advanced model is supposed to be structured for supply chain strategy alliance by means of taking knowledge integration among knot enterprises. At last, supply chain strategy alliance optimize tactics are listed as following: re-define alliance culture, transform organization framework among knot enterprise, reinforce the special use resource "binding" effect and apply knowledge management system.

Abstract:Affected by complicated issues, such as regional conflicts, trade wars, and the COVID-19 pandemic, manufacturing firms face enormous challenges in reconstructing the global supply chain landscape to form new cooperative innovation mechanisms. This study investigates the relationship between supply chain partnerships (SCP) and innovation performance (IP) from a knowledge-management perspective. A multi-factor conceptual model of this relationship was proposed, considering the mediating effect of knowledge sharing (KS) and the moderating effect of knowledge distance (KD). SCP is measured in three dimensions: trust relationship (TR), commitment relationship (CMR), and contractual relationship (CTR). IP is measured in two aspects: technological innovation performance and management innovation performance. An empirical study was conducted to test the hypotheses using data from 417 valid questionnaires. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were applied to test the hypotheses. The results demonstrate that (1) KS plays a significant mediating role in how SCP impacts IP and that the indirect effect of TR through KS on IP is greater than that of CTR or CMR. (2) KD between supply chain partners plays a significant negative moderating role between KS and IP; that is, the smaller the KD, the higher the IP achievable through sufficient KS. These findings shed new light on building collaborative innovation mechanisms for supply chain management.

As a new way of doing business, however, a growing number of firms have begun to realize the strategic importance of planning, controlling, and designing a supply chain as a whole. In an effort to help firms capture the synergy of inter-functional and inter-organizational integration and coordination across the supply chain and to subsequently make better supply chain decisions, this paper synthesizes past supply chain modeling efforts and identifies key challenges and opportunities associated with supply chain modeling. We also provide various guidelines for the successful development and implementation of supply chain models.

Abstract:Compared with knowledge sharing within one organization,cross-organizational knowledge sharing in supply chain is very complex.This paper presents a knowledge sharing system based on semantic web technologies in supply chain,which can overcome the obstacles of knowledge sharing in both syntax and semantic levels.It proposes a knowledge representation format based on OWL,a knowledge query language for search and integrate scattered knowledge and a knowledge integration technology based on Ontology.The former two technologies provide a mechanism for sharing knowledge in the syntax level and the last can help knowledge requestor integrate knowledge in the semantic level.Finally,a simulated experiment of a knowledge sharing process in the supply chain environment is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the prototype system.

Abstract:Aiming at the product quality problem of some virtual enterprise in China at present, explained from the perspective of supply chain management. Based on the literature at home and abroad, this study built the relation framework of supply chain inter-firm relationship quality, quality knowledge transfer and quality performance, Quality knowledge distance as a moderator variable, built a Mediated-moderation model. This models assumed that supply chain inter-firm relationship quality has a significant positive impact on the quality performance through the intermediary role of quality knowledge transfer , quality knowledge distance has negative effect on the relationship between relationship quality and knowledge transfer. The interaction between relationship quality and quality knowledge distance has a significant positive impact on the quality performance through the intermediary role of quality knowledge transfer , thus explaned the complex relationship between supply chain inter-firm relationship quality and quality performance.

Abstract:Purpose Knowledge management (KM) significantly affects supply chain management (SCM) and its performance in today's highly competitive corporate climate. It is crucial to consider this relationship to achieve optimal supply chain performance (SCP). This study aims to assess this impact by defining and examining the multi-dimensional relationships between KM Process Elements (KMPEs) and SCP Evaluation Criteria (SCPEC) within a comprehensive theoretical framework. Design/methodology/approach Integrating KMPEs and SCPEC becomes an uncertain decision-making problem due to data deficiency and the vagueness of decision-makers' judgments. To address uncertainties, this study uses interval-valued neutrosophic (IVN) sets and proposes an IVN model consisting of SWARA, which is one of the effective multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approaches, and house of quality (HOQ) methods. IVN-SWARA is used to weight the SCPEC while IVN-HOQ establishes relationships and prioritizes the KMPEs and SCPEC. Findings The results show that reliability is the most significant SCP evaluation criterion. Among the KMPEs, capitalization, sharing, and transfer exhibit stronger associations with the SCPEC compared to the other elements. Capitalization as one of the KMPEs was found to be the most critical one, and efficiency is the criterion most affected by all elements of the KM process. Originality/value This study uses innovative methodologies to evaluate the adoption of KM processes on SCP under uncertain environments and involving multi-decision-makers. The proposed integrated model demonstrates flexibility and practicality in combining KM and SCM, leading to improved SCP. Notably, this study presents the development of IVN-SWARA and the use of the integrated IVN-SWARA - IVN-HOQ decision tool, which are novel contributions to the existing literature.

Abstract:Existing literature on knowledge exchange in inter-organizational relationships (e.g., a supply channel) reveals two opposing forces at work: (1) collaborative behavior and (2) opportunistic behavior. A concurrent assessment of the opposing perspectives and the contingencies under which each is relevant for supply channel performance can add valuable insights about the dynamics of knowledge exchange. We juxtapose the two behavior patterns using social capital theory and transaction cost economics (TCE) respectively as the explicators and employ knowledge complementarity as the contingency to reconcile the opposing behavior patterns. The choice of knowledge complementarity in this role stems from ample theoretical and empirical support in prior literature about the criticality of this factor in inter-firm knowledge exchange.We propose a research model, and use data from a field study of 82 firms in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry to test our model. Our findings indicate that overall inter-organizational trust (a surrogate for social capital) and knowledge complementarity promote knowledge exchange behavior in a supply channel. The retarding effect of risk of opportunism (a TCE dimension) manifests only when knowledge complementarity is low. However, when knowledge complementarity is high, contrary to expectations, inter-organizational trust appears to impede knowledge exchange. Our post hoc analysis of this intriguing, counterintuitive result leads us to knowledge interdependence and dependence asymmetry as potentially critical antecedents to knowledge complementarity. Implication of our findings to academic research and supply chain scenario is also articulated.
