Abstract:Due to his individual efforts,the instruction of his teacher Wu Mei and the encouragement of Lu Qian,Ren Zhongmin(1897~1991) made many remarkable achievements in the study of Qu.He together with Lu Qian initiated the discipline of San Qu,making some pioneering contribution in theoretical construction and literature collation.His research in the dramas of Tang Dynasty brought fresh notions into the field by making important modification of Wang Guowei's ideas.
Hu Shih's New Interpretation of "the Renaissance of Modern China"

Abstract:Although Hu Shih's ideas on literary reform were affected to a certain extent by the ideas of the Western Renaissance,he,comparatively and consciously,used the ideas of Renaissance to interpret Chinese literary reform and literary revolutionary movement during the twenties,thirties and fifties of the twentieth century.As for the content,for one thing,his ideas on Renaissance were modern centered around the May Fourth new literary and new cultural movement;for another,it was renaissance which lasted for about one thousand years from the eleventh century to China.However,Hu Shih's theoretical interpretation of the May Fourth new literature had changed from the twenties to the fifties,namely,from the absolute focus on the May Fourth new literature to the Chinese literature based on the perspective of the world new literature and culture,as a result of combination between alien culture and the local meaning and local worth of Chinese culture.Then,he resorted to new cultural ideas resulting from the adaptation and consequences of the new literature and new culture.
The Summary of Studies on Yu Hua in the Recent Twenty Years

Abstract:From the first research paper "the January Fresh Wind" on Yu Hua to May,2007,the research work on Yu Hua has developed for 23 years.Up to the present,the studies are launched form five aspects: First,in the aspect of the writer's literature view,the "spirit of truth" which Yu Hua advocates and the departure of his novels from the present situation by "the false form" are the main issues.Second,it is difficult to reach a consensus on the vanguard of the "pioneer spirit" and creative transformation.Third,in his novels' performance world,the critics have discovered several key words: violence,death,misery,desire.Fourth,in the research of the text form,the researchers constantly describe the works by narration language,the genre subversion,the repetition narrates,and such studies show "thinning" tendency.Fifth,in the impact of local and foreign levels,Lu Xun,Kawabata and Kafka are undoubtedly the objects which researchers are ready to compare with Yu Hua.

Abstract:It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Hai-yan Wang on 11 December 2014 at the age of 77. Behind this internationally renowned name was a woman of great will, enthusiasm, and outstanding intelligence. She became one of the very few who helped give birth, growth, and strength to modern nephrology in China. Hai-yan Wang was born on 8 July 1937 in Qing-dao, Shan-dong Province, China. She graduated from Beijing Medical College in 1959 and started her career as a nephrologist under the mentorship of the late Professor Shu-xian Wang, founder of modern nephrology in China. From 1980 to 1983, she was a pioneering visiting scholar, under the supervision of Professor R. Glassock and Professor W. Border at the University of California, Los Angeles. Hai-yan was a lifelong tenured professor of medicine at Peking University First Hospital and president of the Peking University Institute of Nephrology. She was a well-known leading physician-scientist, recognizing the heterogeneity of various causes of intrinsic acute renal failure and improving the concept of primary glomerulonephritis in China in the 1980s. At the same time, her work in establishing a clinical database and biobank on various kidney diseases played a fundamental role in future translational studies. Aside from these successes, she launched clinical epidemiology in China involving chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury. Not only did she build one of the most successful renal programs at Peking University First Hospital, but she also trained many nephrologists throughout the country. In 2013, she was awarded the International Society of Nephrology Roscoe R. Robinson Award and the first ISN Pioneer in Nephrology Award for her outstanding contributions to nephrology education and the development of modern nephrology in China. Professor Hai-yan Wang was very active in the academic area of national and international nephrology as well as internal medicine. She served as Council member of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) (2004–2008), ISN executive councilor (2006–2008), and chair of the ISN East Asia Committee (2004–2013) and was a member of the ISN 0by25 advisory group. She was vice president of the Chinese Medical Association (1999–2009), president of the Chinese Society of Internal Medicine (2000–2008), and president of the Chinese Society of Nephrology (1992–1998). Hai-yan Wang: a name, a woman, and a history. Her legacy will continue to guide the development of nephrology in China and worldwide.

Abstract:Haishangshushisheng(Sun Yusheng) was an influential scholar in the fields of newspaper,novel and drama in late Qing Dynasty and early Republic China.He not only inherited urban literati’s modern writing space and model initiated by Wang Tao and some others after Shanghai became an open port city in late Qing,but also had a close relationship with Mandarin Duck and Butterfly School’s popular literary writing.However,as to his birth and death dates and life activities,opinions are widely divided and have not reached a definitive conclusion.Based on his writings such as Shushisheng liushi chang heji and Baohai qianchen lu,we can find out his birth and death dates and have a clear understanding of his life.

Abstract:Zhu Qi,born in 1935,a researcher at the China Institute of Health Education of the former Min-istry of Health,served as the office director of behavioral education,disease prevention and AIDS prevention educa-tion.Dedicated AIDS prevention education,he set foot in the field of sexology research in the late 1980s,focusing on sexual morality education.He once severed as a committee member of the former Ministry of Health AIDS Expert Advisory Committee,Secretary -General and Vice Chairman of the China Sexology Association and chief editor of the Chinese Journal of Human Sexuality and vice president of Beijing Mental Health Association.He is now a re-search in the Sexology Research Center of Peking University Health Service Center.
