Abstract:We present new generalized Jacobson's lemma for generalized Drazin inverses. This extend the main results on g-Drazin inverse of Yan, Zeng and Zhu (Linear $\&$ Multilinear Algebra, {\bf 68}(2020), 81--93).

Abstract:Algebra Colloquium, Volume 31, Issue 03, Page 407-416, September 2024. We present a new generalized version of Cline's formula and Jacobson's lemma for g-Drazin inverses in a ring. These generalized results extend many known results, e.g., Chen and Abdolyousefi [Generalized Jacobson's lemma in a Banach algebra, Comm. Algebra 49 (2021) 3263–3272], and Yan and Zeng [The generalized inverses of the products of two elements in a ring, Turkish J. Math. 44 (2020) 1744–1756].

Abstract:We present necessary and sufficient conditions under which the anti-triangular matrix $\left( \begin{array}{cc} a&b 1&0 \end{array} \right)$ over a Banach algebra has g-Drazin inverse. New additive results for g-Drazin inverse are obtained. Then we apply our results to $2\times 2$ operator matrices and generalize many known results, e.g.,~\cite[Theorem 2.2]{D}, ~\cite[Theorem 2.1]{YL} and \cite[Theorem 4.1]{Y}.

Abstract:This article introduces new classes of generalized inverses for square matrices named GD1, and the dual, called 1GD inverse. In addition, we discuss a few characterizations and representations of these inverses. The explicit expressions of these inverses have been established via core-nilpotent decomposition. Further, we introduce a binary relation for GD1 inverse and 1GD inverse, along with a few derived properties.

Abstract:Let $R$ be a ring with identity $1$. Jacobson's lemma states that for any $a,b\in R$, if $1-ab$ is invertible then so is $1-ba$. Jacobson's lemma has suitable analogues for several types of generalized inverses, e.g., Drazin inverse, generalized Drazin inverse, and inner inverse. In this note we give a constructive way via Groebner-Shirshov basis theory to obtain the inverse of $1-ab$ in terms of $(1-ba)^{-1}$, assuming the latter exists.

Abstract:Motivated by the very recent work of Gao, Y., Chen, J., Wang, J., Zou, H. [Comm. Algebra, 49(8) (2021) 3241-3254; MR4283143], we introduce two new generalized inverses named weak Drazin (WD) and weak Drazin Moore-Penrose (WDMP) inverses for elements in rings. A few of their properties are then provided, and the fact that the proposed generalized inverses coincide with different well-known generalized inverses under certain assumptions is established. Further, we discuss additive properties, reverse-order law and forward-order law for WD and WDMP generalized inverses. Some examples are also provided in support of the theoretical results.

Abstract:We present new additive properties of the g-Drazin inverse of a linear operator on a Banach space. The g-Drazin invertibility of certain block operator matrices on a Banach space is thereby established. These results extend many known results, e.g., by Yang and Liu [J. Comput. Applied Math. 235 , 1412–1417 (2011)] and Dopazo and Martinez-Serrano [Linear Algebra Appl. 432 , 1896–1904 (2010)].

Abstract:The dual Drazin inverse is an important dual generalized inverse. In this paper, to extend it we introduce the weak dual Drazin inverse which is unique and exists for any square dual matrix. When the dual Drazin inverse exists, it coincides with the weak dual Drazin inverse. In addition, we introduce the weak dual group inverse and apply it to studying one type restricted dual matrix equation.

Abstract:We introduce and study a new class of generalized inverses in rings. An element a in a ring R has generalized Zhou inverse if there exists <math>b∈R</math> such that <math>bab=b,b∈comm2(a),an−ab∈J(R)</math> for some <math>n∈N.</math> We prove that <math>a∈R</math> has generalized Zhou inverse if and only if there exists <math>p=p2∈comm2(a)</math> such that <math>an−p∈J(R)</math> for some <math>n∈N.</math> Cline's formula and Jacobson's lemma for generalized Zhou inverses are established. In particular, the Zhou inverse in a ring is characterized.

Abstract:Given a complex Banach space $X$, let $\mathcal{B}(X)$ be the collection of all bounded linear operators on $X.$ For $A,B\in\mathcal{B}(X)$ we define $A,B$ are $A$-weakly commutative if there exists $C\in\mathcal{B}(X)$ satisfying $$AB=CA\text{ and }BA=AC.$$ The objective of this paper is to study the Drazin invertibility of $A+B$ and $AB$, when $A, B\in\mathcal{B}(X)^D$ are $A\text{ and }B$-weakly commutative. Consequently, this extends some of the additive and multiplicative results established by Huanyin and Marjan Sheibani (Linear and Multilinear Algebra \textbf{70.1} (2022): 53-65) for a distinct family of elements. Moreover, we also establish these additive and multiplicative properties for g-Drazin inverses in a complex Banach algebra.
