Aim, Responsibility and Morality : Kerr's Ideas on Modern Universities

Abstract:As far as Kerr is concerned, modern universities have more than one educational aim, which include providing a constructive environment for the education and development of the students, enhancing the individual development of the whole society, realizing the fair education for those who have received secondary education, ensuring the accomplishment of pure learning and supporting the intellectual and artistic creativity, improving personal ability of social evaluation, implementing pure education and developing critical assessment. Modern universities should be aware of their own responsibilities and adhere to the academic morality in scholastic life in order to achieve the above aims.
