Abstract:One-pot synthesis of 6-bromo-4,4-dimethylthiochroman from bromobenzene is reported. The crucial connection between the three steps is that the byproducts in the first two steps are used as the catalyst in the third step. Abstract:A green and simple synthesis of 4-ayrl-3,4-dihydro-1H-pyrimido[1,2-a]benzimidazole derivatives was accomplished in excellent yields via the reaction of aryl aldehyde, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and 1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-amine in ionic liquid of [bmim(+)][BF4-]. This protocol has the advantages of easier work-up, mild reaction conditions, high yields, and an environmentally benign procedure compared with the reported methods.

Abstract:An efficient one-pot synthesis of 5-(trifluoromethyl)-4,7-dihydro-7-aryl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine derivatives was performed via the reaction of aryl aldehyde, 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole and ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoro-3-oxobutanoate or 4,4,4-trifluoro-1-phenylbutane-1,3-dione in ionic liquid. Abstract:A simple and efficient method is proposed for the synthesis of tetrahydrobenzo[b]pyrans with aromatic aldehydes, active methylene compounds, and dimedone using basic ionic liquid catalyst in water. The procedure offers several advantages including short reaction time, good yield, easy procedure, and good recyclability of catalysts, which may be a practical alternative to conventional processes for preparation of 4-hpyrans.

Abstract:A novel, simple and efficient method for the synthesis of benzothiazoles in solvent-free conditions has been developed from 2-aminophenthiols and aromatic aldehydes, using ionic liquid [Bmim]PF 6 as a catalyst. It is noteworthy that [Bmim]PF 6 acts as both the catalyst and solvent, and no additional organic solvents are required in this reaction. In addition, this reaction has a wide range of substrate scope and a series of benzothiazoles are smoothly synthesized with good to excellent yields.

Abstract:An effective synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one derivatives using ionic liquid 1-n-butyl-3-methylimmidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([bmim]PF6) as the catalyst from aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea (thiourea) under microwave irradiation is described. Abstract:2-Trifluoromethyl and 2-difluoromethyl substituted benzimidazole, benzoxazole and benzothiazole derivatives were efficiently prepared through a one-pot reaction of trifluoroacetic acid and difluoroacetic acid, respectively, with commercially available o-phenylenediamines, 2-aminophenols, and 2-aminobenzenethiols in good to excellent yields. Subsequential bromination of 2-difluoromethyl groups by photolysis with NBS led to the formation of bromodifluoromethyl benzo-1,3-diazoles which may be utilized to prepare the new generation of gem-difluoromethylene linked identical or non-identical twin molecules for drug synthesis.

Abstract:A green method for the synthesis of 2,3-dihydro-2-benzoyl-2-phenylquinazolin-4(1H)-one derivatives, is described in high yields using ionic liquids as green media. The method involves a reaction of 2-aminobenzamide and benzil catalyzed by iodine. The structure of the product 2-benzoyl-3-phenethyl-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one (3f) was confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.

Abstract:3,4-Dihydropyrirnidine-2-(1 H)-ones were synthesized by one-pot three-component Biginelli condensation in ethanol media under catalysis of acidic ionic liquids. It was found that the catalytic activity of [bmim] [HSO 4] is more effective among the used acidic ionic liquids. The reactions were completed during 3 ̃ 5h with 78 ̃ 98 % yields. The products were convenient to work up. The catalysts could be recycled and reused eight times without noticeably decrease in the catalytic activity.
