Abstract:The Ethernet is more and more used in the industrial environments. Because of the non-deterministic protocol of CSMA/CD, Ethernet is thought not to be suitable for the control of real time applications. With the worldwide application and development of Ethernet, its transmission rate is considered sufficiently high enough to estimate that all messages can be received inside a predefined temporal window. Especially, using Ethernet in industrial network will brings a lot of advantages: (1) consistency with the other communication systems installed in the enterprise; (2) employment of the same hardware all over the factory; (3) short cycle-times due to the high transmission speed; (4) large availability of chips implementing the MAC protocol, etc. In this paper, we first analyze the real-time capability of Ethernet and features of traffic for industrial network. Then, we propose some technologies for the design of an Ethernet-based real-time application. Finally, we present an EPA (Ethernet for Plant Automation)-based open network control system.

Abstract:Real-time Ethernet（RTE） control systems with critical real-time requirements are called fast real-time（FRT） systems.To improve the real-time performance of Ethernet for plant automation（EPA）,we propose an EPA-FRT scheme.The minimum macrocycle of EPA networks is reduced by redefining the EPA network frame format,and the synchronization process is modified to acquire higher accuracy.A multi-segmented topology with a scheduling scheme is introduced to increase effective bandwidth utilization and reduce protocol overheads,and thus to shorten the communication cycle significantly.Performance analysis and practical tests on a prototype system show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme,which achieves the best performance at small periodic payload in large scale systems.

Abstract:Considering the increasing use of information technology with established standards, such as TCP/IP and XML in modern industrial automation, we present a high cost performance solution with FPGA (field programmable gate array) implementation of a novel reliable real-time data transfer system based on EPA (Ethernet for plant automation) protocol and IEEE 1588 standard. This combination can provide more predictable and real-time communication between automation equipments and precise synchronization between devices. The designed EPA system has been verified on Xilinx Spartan3 XC3S1500 and it consumed 75% of the total slices. The experimental results show that the novel industrial control system achieves high synchronization precision and provides a 1.59-μs standard deviation between the master device and the slave ones. Such a real-time data transfer system is an excellent candidate for automation equipments which require precise synchronization based on Ethernet at a comparatively low price.

Abstract:The EtherNet MAC frame detection experimental system based on RTL8019AS was introduced.The hardware components of the experimental system was introduced,and then the working principle and the implementation process of driver program of RTL8019AS were elaborated in detail.The experimental result showed that this system could catch the whole EtherNet MAC frame from transmission medium,and it could be widely used in the teaching of EtherNet.

Abstract:In order to exhibit the key technologies of industry Ethernet,the Ethernet experimental system used in industrial area is designed.This system is based on microcontroller S3C44BOX and Ethernet controller RTL8019AS,and uses keyboard and liquid crystal display as interactive medium.This paper focuses primarily on overall planning and design of the system,hardware design framework,implementation model and main flow charts of the software.An experiment of "using IP protocol to complete sending and receiving data" is analyzed,which is used to show the design method and the key part of the implementation.Practical application shows that every experiment makes users realize the protocol function step by step,so the experimental system can make users master the key communication technologies of industry Ethernet quickly and straightly.

Abstract:The architecture of traditional smart home system is multi-bus and multi-protocol one,which is not convenient and difficult to operate.The paper provides a way to communicate with Ethernet by the RTL8019AS-Ethernet controller chip based on an embedded system platform.It discusses the function of every module in the main controller hardware,and presents inner architecture of RTL8019AS and implementation process of the bottom driver in Ethernet.The method is flexible,stable and can reduce the volume of the product in Information Appliance.

Abstract:It shows the importance of Ethernet interface of computer control network touching flat knitting machine.Based on the technical request of computer control network touching flat knitting machine,it selects S3C44B0X as master control chip and RTL8019AS as Ethernet interface chip,designs the hardware circuits of control terminal.It uses TCP/IP protocol stack uIP to link the platform of S3C44B0X and builds the Ethernet interface.In the porting process,it improves the packet receiving mode and packet checksum algorithm,puts forward a macro named UIP_UDP_APPCALL() to implement UDP communication.It introduces the method of uIP communication with other hosts via TCP,UDP protocol.

Abstract:In recent years, along with the development of industrial control equipments and electric vehicles, the control and communication communities have witnessed the growing demand of system interconnection, intercommunication, and interoperation. Therein a key issue is to connect these objects to a network through embedded control chips. In this paper, we design and implement an embedded Ethernet system based on the Renesas RX62N. The Renesas RX62N 32-bit chip has an embedded Ethernet Controller. To achieve stable and reliable embedded network connection, we transplant μC/OS-II, a realtime operating system written by Micriμm Company, to the platform; In the TCP/IP layer, we write device drivers of the DP83640 physical chip and the RX62N Ethernet controller such that they are compatible to the μC/TCP-IP protocol stack; In the application layer, the main challenge is dynamic IP address assignment, which is solved by μC/DHCPc protocol stack. After obtaining the address, a simple TCP client-server socket application is implemented. The embedded Ethernet system is verified in a real-world network environment. Experiments demonstrate that the system is able to fulfill basic network communication.

Abstract:An IP (intellectual property) core is a block of logic or data that is used in making a field programmable gate array (FPGA) or application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for a product. As essential elements of design reuse, IP cores are part of the growing electronic design automation (EDA) industry trend towards repeated use of previously designed components. Ethernet continues to be one of the most popular LAN technologies. Due to the robustness resulting from its wide acceptance and deployment, there has been an attempt to build Ethernet-based real-time control networks for manufacturing automation. There is a growing demand for low cost, power efficient MAC IP Core for various embedded applications. In this paper a project is discussed to design an Ethernet MAC IP Core solution for such embedded applications. The proposed 10_100_1000 Mbps tri-mode Ethernet MAC implements a MAC controller conforming to IEEE 802.3 specification. It is designed to use less than 2000 LCs/LEs to implement full function. It will use inferred RAMs and PADs to reduce technology dependence. To increase the flexibility, three optional modules can be added to or removed from the project. A GUI configuration interface, created by Tcl/tk script language, is convenient for configuring optional modules, FIFO depth and verification parameters. Furthermore, a verification system was designed with Tcl/tk user interface, by which the stimulus can be generated automatically and the output packets can be verified with CRC-32 checksum. A solution which would consume a smaller part of the targeted FPGA, and thus giving room for other on-chip peripherals or enable the use of a smaller sized FPGA. To employ a smaller FPGA is desirable since it would reduce power consumption and device price. Abstract:Aiming at bad real-time performance, low reliability and high cost of distributed industry Ethernet data gathering system, this paper uses EtherCAT bus to realize multichannel data gathering system. It analyzes the characteristics of EtherCAT bus, and gives the general design scheme and the design of hardware and software. System performance is tested, and the result proves that the system can realize high-speed and real-time data gathering.

Abstract:It is the requirements of limited resources and realtime in embedded system. Design of network communication system based on embedded system is hard. In this paper, we propose the architecture of embedded network using Modbus TCP/IP protocol, analyze the composition of Modbus TCP/IP protocol. It is that Modbus protocol information can be made in the TCP/IP protocol of the Internet transmission, and thus extend the application of Modbus protocol. The network communication system is designed and implemented on the ARM platform using non-blanking socket in Linux. The system is available, stable and worthy of popularization.
