Abstract:Predictive control is a control algorithm based on model and optimization, which has much difference from the traditional optimization. The concept of predictive control means the idea of satisfactory control. In this paper, the satisfactory predictive control under fuzzy constraints is studied and the satisfactory predictive control algorithm is improved by adding the membership degrees of errors between the predictive outputs and their setpoints into the fuzzy constraints for the system with hard constraints and soft constraint. Using the satisfactory control algorithm presented in this paper, whether the setpoint control problem or horizon control problem can be satisfied, while the hard constraints are guaranteed; the soft constraints and the output tracking are satisfied as much as possible. Abstract:This article deals with the interval type-2 (IT2) fuzzy model-based H infinity control problem for networked singularly perturbed systems (SPSs) under fading channel. To prevent data colli-sion, a weighted try-once-discard (WTOD) communication scheme is adopted to adjust the communication sequence of sensor nodes. Based on this transmission strategy, only one sensor with more considerable difference is allowed to be transmitted at each time instant. On the other hand, a time-varying stochastic process model is introduced to describe the behavior of the fading channels in unreliable networks. Based on fading state signal and known bounds, the imperfectly matched membership functions (MFs) are reconstructed in the controller. Accordingly, under the effect of fading channels and WTOD protocol, a new IT2 fuzzy controller is constructed for the networked IT2 fuzzy SPSs. Meanwhile, by con-structing a singular perturbation parameter (SPP) dependent Lyapunov function, sufficient conditions are established to guarantee the mean square stability of networked IT2 fuzzy SPSs, and the numerical stiffness issue is avoided. Finally, the practicability of the proposed methods is proved through a tunnel diode circuit simulation. (c) 2023 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
A Direct Adaptive Predictive Functional Control Based on T-S Fuzzy Model

Abstract:An adaptive predictive functional control algorithm based on T-S fuzzy model for discrete-time nonlinear systems is proposed. In this algorithm the consequent parameters of T-S fuzzy model are identified by the weighting recursive least square method, Parameters of the fuzzy model are used to directly recursively compute the model prediction output, and needn't solve Diophantine equations. Analysis solution of the predictive control input is derived. Simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm is an effective control strategy with excellent tracing ability and strong robustness.

Based on the derived condition, the reliable H infinity control problem is solved, and an explicit expression of the desired controller is also given. The case of no failure in the actuator is also considered. A numerical example is given to demonstrate that our results are effective and less conservative.

Abstract:In this research, a fast finite-time control scheme is proposed for nonstrict feedback systems with quantized input signals. It is known that nonstrict feedback form and input quantization are common problems caused by the complexity and performance requirements in practical systems. To deal with these difficulties, the obstacle generated by the nonstrict feedback structure is first solved by a fuzzy logic system (FLS) through the amazing characteristic of the Gaussian function. Second, a nonlinear decomposition method for the hysteretic quantizer is applied to simplify the procedures of controller design and stability analysis. Next, an adaptive controller is designed using backstepping theory, and a fast finite-time stability criterion is introduced to confirm its effectiveness and stability. Then, a given simulation example and a practical nonstrict feedback application about one-link manipulator are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method. The simulation results illustrate that the proposed adaptive fuzzy controller ensures all the state variables are bounded and the tracking error converges to a small interval around zero.

Abstract:This study deals with the problem of finite-time reliable L2 - L-infinity/H-infinity control for non-linear systems with actuator faults through Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model approach. The actuator failure model under consideration is assumed to be governed by a homogenous Markov chain. The focus is on the design of a fuzzy Markov switching fault-tolerant controller such that the resulting closed-loop system is stochastically finite-time bounded with a mixed L2 - L-infinity/H-infinity performance level over a finite-time interval. Some sufficient conditions for the solvability of the above problem are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities by introducing a new mixed L2 - L-infinity/H-infinity performance function. Finally, a quarter-vehicle suspension model is employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach.

Abstract:The problem of state feedback control for a class of continuous-time switched nonlinear systems is investigated in this paper. By using the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model to represent each subsystem of the switched nonlinear systems, the switched nonlinear systems are modeled into the switched T-S fuzzy systems. Different from existing studies in the literature, by proposing a novel performance index which can be viewed as extended dissipativity, the weighted H-infinity, L-2 - L-infinity, passive and dissipative control problems for continuous-time switched nonlinear systems are studied in a unified framework. Some weighted matrices are included in the new performance index. Through adjusting the values of these weighted matrices, the new performance index will reduce to the weighted H-infinity, L-2 - L-infinity, passive and dissipative performance index for the switched systems. By using the multiple Lyapunov functions (MLFs) approach and the average dwell time (ADT) technique, the state feedback controllers are designed to ensure the closed-loop switched T-S fuzzy system to be asymptotically stable and satisfy the novel performance index. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the applicability of the obtained results.

Abstract:This paper considers predictive control of a TakagiSugeno fuzzy model with bounded disturbance, strictly satisfying the input and state constraints. The membership-functiondependent dynamic output feedback law, as in a previous work, is utilized. The novelty lies in the following technical improvements. For the notion of quadratic boundedness, which specifies closed-loop stability and invariance properties, the full Lyapunov matrix is utilized. The real-time ellipsoidal bound of true state is recursively optimized by invoking the S-procedure. Some relaxation scalars, being optimized by the norm-bounding technique, are introduced for better handling the input and state constraints. The multistep approach, where a sequence of dynamic output feedback laws are optimized at each sampling instant, is given to improve the single-step approach. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.

Abstract:This paper addresses the output feedback predictive control for a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system. Like many existing results, the controller optimizes an infinite-horizon objective function respecting input constraint. The infinite-horizon control moves are parameterized as a free control move followed by an output feedback based on the prespecified state estimator. While the use of a free control move is well practiced in the existing research works of model predictive control (MPC), it was not previously applied in the output feedback MPC when: 1) the future model parameters are uncertain; and 2) the recursive feasibility and closed-loop stability are guaranteed. A key point for us to overcome this difficulty is to introduce a formula for refreshing the bound of the estimation error. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed output feedback controller.

Abstract:This paper addresses the output feedback predictive control for a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy system with bounded noise. The controller optimizes an infinite-horizon objective function respecting the input and state constraints. The control law is parameterized as a dynamic output feedback that is dependent on the membership functions, and the closed-loop stability is specified by the notion of quadratic boundedness. Online algorithms that guarantee the recursive feasibility of the convex optimization problem and the convergence of the augmented state to a neighborhood of the equilibrium point are proposed in this paper. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed output feedback controllers.
