Abstract:In this paper, von Neumann entropy is used to study three kinds of bipartite qutrit model, which represent SU(3) strongly correlated model, three-level Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model, and spin-1 model. The relation between the ground-state entanglement and the quantum phase transition in those models is exhibited and the connection between the entanglement extremes and the symmetries is also discussed.

Abstract:We propose a new way of description of the global entanglement property of a multi-partite pure state quantum system. Based on the idea of bipartite concurrence, by dividing the multi-partite quantum system into two subsystems, a combination of all the bipartite concurrences of a multi-partite quantum system is used to describe the entanglement property of the multi-partite system. We derive the analytical results for GHZ-state, W-state with arbitrary number of qubits, and cluster state with the number of particles no greater than 6.

Abstract:For a multipartite system, we sort out all possible entanglements, each of which is among a set of subsystems. Each entanglement can be measured by a generalized relative entropy of entanglement, which is conserved on average under reversible local operations and classical communication (LOCC) defined for all the parties. Then we derive a series of inequalities of different entanglements that have to be satisfied by any pure state which can be generated by reversible LOCC from the set of all GHZ-like states.

Abstract:Abstract A global multi-partite entanglement may place a constraint on the wave-particle duality. We investigate this constraint relation of the global entanglement and the quantitative wave-particle duality in tripartite systems. We perform quantum state tomography to reconstruct the reduced density matrix by using the OriginQ quantum computing cloud platform. As a result, we show that, theoretically and experimentally, the quantitative wave-particle duality is indeed constrained by the global tripartite entanglement.The present constraint relation can not only provide the foundational explanation for experimentally testing wave-particle duality, and also give the global entanglement a motivated physical meaning from the point of view of the quantitative wave-particle duality.

Abstract:In quantum information and quantum computation, a bipartite system provides a basic few-body framework for investigating significant properties of thermodynamics and statistical mechanics. A Hamiltonian model for a bipartite system is introduced to analyze the important role of interaction between bipartite subsystems in quantum non-equilibrium thermodynamics. We illustrate discrimination between such quantum thermodynamics and classical few-body non-equilibrium thermodynamics. By proposing a detailed balance condition of the bipartite system, we generally investigate the properties of the entropy and heat of our model, as well as the relation between them.

Abstract:The entanglement quantification and classification of multipartite quantum states is an important research area in quantum information. In this paper, in terms of the reduced density matrices corresponding to all possible partitions of the entire system, a bounded entanglement measure is constructed for arbitrary-dimensional multipartite quantum states. In particular, for three-qubit quantum systems, we prove that our entanglement measure satisfies the relation of monogamy. Furthermore, we present a necessary condition for characterizing maximally entangled states using our entanglement measure.

Abstract:Quantum entanglement and quantum entropy are crucial concepts in the study of multipartite quantum systems. In this work we show how the notion of concurrence vector, re-expressed in a particularly useful form, provides new insights and computational tools for the analysis of both. In particular, using this approach for a general multipartite pure state, one can easily prove known relations in an easy way and to build up new relations between the concurrences associated with the different bipartitions. The approach is also useful to derive sufficient conditions for genuine entanglement in generic multipartite systems that are computable in polynomial time. From an entropy-of-entanglement perspective, the approach is powerful to prove properties of the Tsallis-$2$ entropy, such as the subadditivity, and to derive new ones, e.g. a modified version of the strong subadditivity which is always fulfilled; thanks to the purification theorem these results hold for any multipartite state, whether pure or mixed.

Abstract:Quantum entanglement plays an important role in quantum information processes, such as quantum computation and quantum communication. Experiments in laboratories are unquestionably crucial to increase our understanding of quantum systems and inspire new insights into future applications. However, there are no general recipes for the creation of arbitrary quantum states with many particles entangled in high dimensions. Here we exploit a recent connection between quantum experiments and graph theory and answer this question for a plethora of classes of entangled states. We find experimental setups for Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger states, W states, general Dicke states, and asymmetrically high-dimensional multipartite entangled states. This result sheds light on the producibility of arbitrary quantum states using photonic technology with probabilistic pair sources and allows us to understand the underlying technological and fundamental properties of entanglement.

Abstract:Quantum mechanical systems exhibit particle wave duality property. This duality property has been exploited for information processing. A duality quantum computer is a quantum computer on the move and passing through a multi-slits. It offers quantum wave divider and quantum wave combiner operations in addition to those allowed in an ordinary quantum computer. It has been shown that all linear bounded operators can be realized in a duality quantum computer, and a duality quantum computer with n qubits and d-slits can be realized in an ordinary quantum computer with n qubits and a qudit in the so-called duality quantum computing mode. The quantum particle-wave duality can be used in providing secure communication. In this paper, we will review duality quantum computing and duality quantum key distribution.

Abstract:Genuine multipartite entanglement is crucial for quantum information and related technologies but quantifying it has been a long-standing challenge. Most proposed measures do not meet the ``genuine'' requirement, making them unsuitable for many applications. In this work, we propose a journey toward addressing this issue by introducing an unexpected relation between multipartite entanglement and hypervolume of geometric simplices, leading to a tetrahedron measure of quadripartite entanglement. By comparing the entanglement ranking of two highly entangled four-qubit states, we show that the tetrahedron measure relies on the degree of permutation invariance among parties within the quantum system. We demonstrate potential future applications of our measure in the context of quantum information scrambling within many-body systems.

Duality quantum computer is a new type of quantum computer that exploits the particle wave duality of quantum mechanics. In a duality computer, the computing gates need not be unitary. This provides more flexibility and familiarity to computer scientists. Here we use the unsorted database search problem as an example to show how to construct search algorithms in quantum computer and duality quantum computers.

Abstract:We investigate the bipartite entanglement dynamics of the system composed by three qubits A,B,and C.There is no interaction between A and B,and that of C and B is Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya （DM） spin-orbit interaction.We find that the purity of qubits A and B and the initial state of the qubit C are the two effective parameters tocontrol the entanglement dynamics of the bipartite subsystems.This study sheds some lights on the control of quantumentanglement,which would be helpful for quantum information processing.

Abstract:Quantum entanglement and its paradoxical properties hold the key to an information processing revolution. Much attention has focused recently on the challenging problem of characterizing entanglement. Entanglement for a two qubit system is reasonably well understood, however, the nature and properties of multiple qubit systems are largely unexplored. Motivated by the importance of such systems in quantum computing, we show that typical pure states of N qubits are highly entangled but have decreasing amounts of pairwise entanglement (measured using the Wootter's concurrence formula) as N increases. Above six qubits very few states have any pairwise entanglement, and generally, for a typical pure state of N qubits there is a sharp cut-off where its subsystems of size m become PPT (positive partial transpose i.e., separable or only bound entangled) around N >~ 2m + 3, based on numerical analysis up to N=13.

Abstract:We propose to define multipartite entanglement of pure states as transformations acting on some parts of a system that can be undone by transformations acting on other parts. This leads to a definition of multipartite entanglement in terms of groups, namely certain quotients of the stabilizer group and its subgroups. We analyze properties of these entanglement groups and show that they lead to restrictions which give a precise meaning to monogamy of entanglement. We use these groups to propose a finite classification of entanglement types in multi-partite quantum systems and we show that this characterization of entanglement underlies several well-known quantum tasks.

Data-driven approach to mixed-state multipartite entanglement characterisation

Abstract:We develop a statistical framework, based on a manifold learning embedding, to extract relevant features of multipartite entanglement structures of mixed quantum states from the measurable correlation data of a quantum computer. We show that the statistics of the measured correlators contains sufficient information to characterise the entanglement, and to quantify the mixedness of the state of the computer's register. The transition to the maximally mixed regime, in the embedding space, displays a sharp boundary between entangled and separable states. Away from this boundary, the multipartite entanglement structure is robust to finite noise.

Abstract:A new entanglement measure, the multiple entropy measures (MEMS), is proposed to quantify quantum entanglement of multi-partite quantum state. The MEMS is vector-like with $m=[N/2]$, the integer part of $N/2$, components: $[S_1, S_2,..., S_m]$, and the $i$-th component $S_i$ is the geometric mean of $i$-body partial entropy of the system. The $S_i$ measures how strong an arbitrary $i$ bodies from the system are entangled with the rest of the system. The MEMS is not only transparent in physical picture, but also simple to calculate. It satisfies the conditions for a good entanglement measure. We have analyzed the entanglement properties of the GHZ-state, the W-states and cluster-states under MEMS. The cluster-state is more entangled than the GHZ-state and W-state under MEMS.
