Abstract:This article presents a study that combines experimental and simulation methods to investigate the characteristics of high-frequency pulse discharge in saline solution. The researchers have designed a needle-needle reactor structure and examined the discharge behavior under pulse voltage. They have also explored the impact of various experimental parameters, such as voltage amplitude, saline concentration, electrode spacing, and pulse frequency, on the discharge characteristics and the intensity of the $\mathrm{OH}\left( \mathrm{A}^{2}\Sigma ^{+}\to \mathrm{X}^{2}\Pi \right)$ emission spectra in the discharge plasma. The findings reveal that an increase in pulse amplitude voltage leads to a higher injected energy, resulting in an increase in the intensity of the $\mathrm{OH}\left( \mathrm{A}^{2}\Sigma ^{+}\to \mathrm{X}^{2}\Pi \right)$ emission spectrum. Additionally, the intensity of the $\mathrm{OH}\left( \mathrm{A}^{2}\Sigma ^{+}\to \mathrm{X}^{2}\Pi \right)$ emission spectral is found to increase with higher pulse frequencies. The variation in electrode spacing, however, has minimal influence on plasma discharge. Based on these results, the researchers propose equivalent circuit models for both nondischarge and discharge scenarios, along with simplified discharge models. The output waveforms of these equivalent circuit models closely align with the experimental results. By using the discharge model, the plasma’s electron density is estimated to be approximately ${10}^{16}~{\mathrm{cm}}^{-3}$ .
