Abstract: In this paper the Orlicz-Minkowski problem for torsional rigidity, a generalization of the classical Minkowski problem, is studied. Using the flow method, we obtain a new existence result of solutions to this problem for general measures.

Abstract:In this paper, the extended Musielak-Orlicz-Gauss image problem is studied. Such a problem aims to characterize the Musielak-Orlicz-Gauss image measure C˜G,Ψ,λ(Ω,⋅) of convex body Ω in Rn+1 containing the origin (but the origin is not necessary in its interior). In particular, we provide solutions to the extended Musielak-Orlicz-Gauss image problem based on the study of suitably designed parabolic flows, and by the use of approximation technique (for general measures). Our parabolic flows involve two Musielak-Orlicz functions and hence contain many well-studied curvature flows related to Minkowski type problems as special cases. Our results not only generalize many previously known solutions to the Minkowski type and Gauss image problems, but also provide solutions to those problems in many unsolved cases.

Abstract:The Minkowski problem for torsional rigidity ($2$-torsional rigidity) was firstly studied by Colesanti and Fimiani \cite{CA} using variational method. Moreover, Hu, Liu and Ma \cite{HJ00} also studied this problem by method of curvature flows and obtain the existence of smooth even solutions. In addition, the Minkowski problem for $2$-torsional rigidity was also extended to $L_p$ version and Orlicz version. Recently, Hu and Zhang \cite{HJ2} introduced the concept of Orlicz mixed $q$-torsional rigidity and obtained Orlicz $q$-torsional measure through the variational method for $q>1$.Specially, they established the functional Orlicz Brunn-Minkowski inequality and the functional Orlicz Minkowski inequality. Motivated by the forgoing works, we can propose the Orlicz Minkowski problem for $q$-torsional rigidity, and then confirm the existence of smooth non-even solutions to the Orlicz Minkowski problem for $q$-torsional rigidity with $q>1$ by method of a Gauss curvature flow.

Abstract:In this paper we study a contracting flow of closed, convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space ℝ^n+1 with speed f r^α K, where K is the Gauss curvature, r is the distance from the hypersurface to the origin, and f is a positive and smooth function. If α≥ n+1, we prove that the flow exists for all time and converges smoothly after normalisation to a soliton, which is a sphere centred at the origin if f ≡ 1. Our argument provides a parabolic proof in the smooth category for the classical Aleksandrov problem, and resolves the dual q-Minkowski problem introduced by Huang, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang (Acta Math. 216 (2016): 325-388), for the case q<0. If α < n+1, corresponding to the case q>0, we also establish the same results for even function f and origin-symmetric initial condition, but for non-symmetric f, counterexample is given for the above smooth convergence.

Abstract:We consider the problem of conformally deforming a metric by a fully nonlinear flow on a compact manifold with totally geodesic boundary. We prove that the k-curvature defined by the modified Schouten tensor always can be deformed in a natural way to a constant at exponential rate and the boundary preserves totally geodesic.

Abstract:We consider a shrinking flow of smooth, closed, uniformly convex hypersurfaces in (n+1)-dimensional Euclidean space with speed fu^{alpha}{sigma}_n^{beta}, where u is the support function of the hypersurface, alpha, beta are two constants, and beta>0, sigma_n is the n-th symmetric polynomial of the principle curvature radii of the hypersurface. We prove that the flow has a unique smooth and uniformly convex solution for all time, and converges smoothly after normalisation, to a soliton which is a solution of an elliptic equation, when the constants alpha, beta belong to a suitable range, provided the initial hypersuface is origin-symmetric and f is a smooth positive even function on S^n. For the case alpha>= 1+n*beta, beta>0, we prove that the flow converges smoothly after normalisation to a unique smooth solution of an elliptic equation without any constraint on the initial hypersuface and smooth positive function f. When beta=1, our argument provides a uniform proof to the existence of the solutions to the equation of L_p Minkowski problem for p belongs to (-n-1,+infty).

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the rigidity of ancient solutions of the mean curvature flow with arbitrary codimension in space forms. We first prove that under certain sharp asymptotic pointwise curvature pinching condition the ancient solution in a sphere is either a shrinking spherical cap or a totally geodesic sphere. Then we show that under certain pointwise curvature pinching condition the ancient solution in a hyperbolic space is a family of shrinking spheres. We also obtain a rigidity result for ancient solutions in a nonnegatively curved space form under an asymptotic integral curvature pinching condition.

Abstract:The $L_p$ chord Minkowski problem based on Chord measures and $L_p$ chord measures introduced firstly by Lutwak, Xi, Yang and Zhang [38] is a very important and meaningful geometric measure problem in the $L_p$ Brunn-Minkowski theory. Xi, Yang, Zhang and Zhao [45] using variational methods gave a measure solution when $p > 1$ and $0<p<1$ in the symmetric case. Recently, Guo, Xi and Zhao [18] also obtained a measure solution for $0\leq p<1$ by similar methods without the symmetric assumption. In the present paper, we investigate and confirm the orlicz chord Minkowski problem, which generalizes the $L_p$ chord Minkowski problem by replacing $p$ with a fixed continuous function $\varphi:(0,\infty)\rightarrow(0,\infty)$, and achieve the existence of smooth solutions to the orlicz chord Minkowski problem by using methods of Gauss curvature flows.

The dual Minkowski problem for $q$-torsional rigidity

Abstract:The Minkowski problem for torsional rigidity ($2$-torsional rigidity) was firstly studied by Colesanti and Fimiani \cite{CA} using variational method. Moreover, Hu \cite{HJ00} also studied this problem by the method of curvature flows and obtained the existence of smooth even solutions. In addition, the smooth non-even solutions to the Orlicz Minkowski problem $w. r. t$ $q$-torsional rigidity were given by Zhao et al. \cite{ZX} through a Gauss curvature flow. The dual curvature measure and the dual Minkowski problem were first posed and considered by Huang, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang in \cite{HY}. The dual Minkowski problem is a very important problem, which has greatly contributed to the development of the dual Brunn-Minkowski theory and extended the other types dual Minkowski problem. To the best of our knowledge, the dual Minkowski problem $w. r. t$ ($q$) torsional rigidity is still open because the dual ($q$) torsional measure is blank. Thus, it is a natural problem to consider the dual Minkowski problem for ($q$) torsional rigidity. In this paper, we introduce the $p$-th dual $q$-torsional measure by the variational method and propose the $p$-th dual Minkowski problem for $q$-torsional rigidity with $q>1$. Then we confirm the existence of smooth even solutions for $p<n$ ($p\neq 0$) to the $p$-th dual Minkowski problem for $q$-torsional rigidity by method of a Gauss curvature flow. Specially, we also obtain the smooth non-even solutions with $p<0$ to this problem.

Abstract:Let $X_1^t$ and $X_2^t$ be volume preserving Anosov flows on a 3-dimensional manifold $M$. We prove that if $X_1^t$ and $X_2^t$ are $C^0$ conjugate then the conjugacy is, in fact, smooth, unless $M$ is a mapping torus of an Anosov automorphism of $\mathbb T^2$ and both flows are constant roof suspension flows. We deduce several applications. Among them is a new result on rigidity of Anosov diffeorphisms on $\mathbb T^2$ and a new "weighted" marked length spectrum rigidity result for surfaces of negative curvature.

Abstract:In this paper, we prove that if the geodesic flow of a complete manifold without conjugate points with sectional curvatures bounded below by is of Anosov type, then the constant of contraction of the flow is . Moreover, if M has a finite volume, the equality holds if and only if the sectional curvature is constant. We also apply this result to get a certain rigidity for bi-Lipschitz, and consequently, for -conjugacy between two geodesic flows.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation on compact Kähler manifold with non-negative orthogonal bisectional curvature. We prove that the curvatures of deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills metrics are parallel with respect to the background metric if there exists a positive constant C such that $$\begin{aligned} -\frac{1}{C}\omega<\sqrt{-1}F<C\omega . \end{aligned}$$ We also consider the self-shrinker over $$\mathbb {C}^n$$ to the corresponding parabolic flow. We prove that the self-shrinker over $${\mathbb {C}}^n$$ is a quadratic polynomial function. At last, we show a similar rigidity theorem for the J-equations and the self-shrinkers over $${\mathbb {C}}^n$$ to J-flow.

Abstract:This paper explores the behavior of the torsional rigidity of a precompact domain as the ambient manifold evolves under a geometric flow. Specifically, we derive bounds on torsional rigidity under the Ricci Flow for Heisenberg spaces and homogeneous spheres. Additionally, we establish bounds under the Inverse Mean Curvature Flow for strictly convex, free-boundary, disk-type hypersurfaces within a ball. In this latter case, by extending the analysis to the maximal existence time of the flow, we obtain inequalities of comparison with the flat disk for both volume and torsional rigidity.

Abstract:We are concerned with rigidity properties of steady Euler flows in two-dimensional bounded annuli. We prove that in an annulus, a steady flow with no interior stagnation point and tangential boundary conditions is a circular flow, which addresses an open question proposed by F. Hamel and N. Nadirashvili in [J. Eur. Math. Soc., 25 (2023), no. 1, 323-368]. The proof is based on the study of the geometric properties of the streamlines of the flow and on `local' symmetry properties for the non-negative solutions of semi-linear elliptic equations with a continuous nonlinearity.

Abstract:Fully developed viscoelastic flows in rotating curved pipes with circular cross section are investigated theoretically and numerically employing the Oldroyd-B fluid model. Based on Dean's approximation, a perturbation solution up to the secondary order is obtained. The governing equations are also solved numerically by the finite volume method. The theoretical and numerical solutions agree with each other very well. The results indicate that the rotation, as well as the curvature and elasticity, plays an important role in affecting the friction factor, the secondary flow pattern and intensity. The co-rotation enhances effects of curvature and elasticity on the secondary flow. For the counter-rotation, there is a critical rotational number R-Omega', which can make the effect of rotation counteract the effect of curvature and elasticity. Complicated flow behaviors are found at this value. For the relative creeping flow, R-Omega' can be estimated according to the expression R-Omega'=-4We delta. Effects of curvature and elasticity at different rotational numbers on both relative creeping flow and inertial flow are also analyzed and discussed. (c) 2006 American Institute of Physics.

Abstract:We apply the technique of matching functions in the setting of contact Anosov flows satisfying a bunching assumption. This allows us to generalize the 3-dimensional rigidity result of Feldman and Ornstein [ Ergodic Theory Dynam. Syst. , 7 , No. 1, 49–72 (1987)]. Namely, we show that if two Anosov flow of this kind are C 0 conjugate, then they are C r conjugate for some r ∈ [1 , 2) or even C ∞ conjugate under certain additional assumptions. This, e.g., applies to geodesic flows on compact Riemannian manifolds of 1 / 4-pinched negative sectional curvature. We can also use our result to recover Hamendstädt's marked length spectrum rigidity result for real hyperbolic manifolds.

Abstract:Using a size condition of the sharp log Sobolev functional (log entropy) near infinity only, we prove a rigidity result for ancient Ricci flows without sign condition on the curvatures. The result is also related to the problem of identifying type II ancient Ricci flows and their backward limits.
