Abstract:Diffusive and segregating processes promote the formation of stacking faults and microtwins at the intermediate temperature in Ni-based disc superalloys. Improved understanding of elemental segregation behaviors at creeping substructures plays an important role in improving the high temperature properties of these superalloys. Here, we studied the segregation behavior on stacking faults in 718Plus superalloy crept at 650°C/800MPa. The creep deformation modes under this condition is mainly stacking faults and microtwins. Our results showed enrichment of Nb and Co and depletion of Al and Ni at the stacking faults. Additionally, formation of γ″-Ni 3 Nb precipitates was also observed at intersections of stacking faults. This might be due to the orderly arrangement of Nb atoms on the stacking faults and/or migration of {111} oriented APB to {100} one. These findings contribute to a further understanding of the creep mechanism and the mechanism of γ″ formation in atomic scale in the 718Plus superalloy.
