Abstract:A novel three-component cascade radical reaction involving non-activated olefins,quinoxalin-2(1H)-ones,and AgSCF3 was proposed.Under the action of the oxidizing agent K2S2O8,40 quinoxaline derivatives containing SCF3 were obtained with the highest yield of 78％.This method provides a mild and environmentally friendly approach to prepare trifluoromethylthio-substituted quinoxalines,offering advantages such as high yield,broad substrate scope,atom economy,and environmental efficiency.

Abstract:Copper(II)-catalyzed synthesis of sulfones from sulfinate salts and aryl halides was investigated by means of a combination of experiment and DFT calculation. Experimental results demonstrated the wide applicability of the title approach. The reaction mechanisms are revealed by in-situ IR and theoretical study. It reveals remarkable ligand effect the bidentate amine plays in the reaction, that is, it initially activats the C-I bond of iodobenzene so as to enhance the whole catalytic process. Abstract:A Cu(I)‐catalyzed three‐component reaction of 2‐iodo‐2,2‐difluoroacetophenones, alkynes and TMSCN is described. The reaction provided a facile method for the synthesis of difluoroacyl‐substituted nitriles, which might be served as potentially useful fluoroorganic intermediates for further transformation in drug discovery. This method has broad substrate scope, good efficiency and excellent stereoselectivity . Preliminary mechanistic investigation indicated that radical‐mediate process was involved in this cyanodifluoroalkylation reaction.

Abstract:A copper-catalyzed four-component trifluoromethylthio-arylsulfonylation between styrene derivatives, AgSCF3, aryldiazonium tetrafluoroborates, and ex situ generated sulfur dioxide (from SOgen) is presented. This reaction features mild reaction conditions, good functional group tolerance, a broad substrate scope, good yields, and excellent diastereoselectivity. Abstract:Although α-chiral C( sp 3 )–S bonds are of enormous importance in organic synthesis and related areas, the transition-metal-catalysed enantioselective C( sp 3 )–S bond construction still represents an underdeveloped domain probably due to the difficult heterolytic metal–sulfur bond cleavage and notorious catalyst-poisoning capability of sulfur nucleophiles. Here we demonstrate the use of chiral tridentate anionic ligands in combination with Cu(I) catalysts to enable a biomimetic enantioconvergent radical C( sp 3 )–S cross-coupling reaction of both racemic secondary and tertiary alkyl halides with highly transformable sulfur nucleophiles. This protocol not only exhibits a broad substrate scope with high enantioselectivity but also provides universal access to a range of useful α-chiral alkyl organosulfur compounds with different sulfur oxidation states, thus providing a complementary approach to known asymmetric C( sp 3 )–S bond formation methods. Mechanistic results support a biomimetic radical homolytic substitution pathway for the critical C( sp 3 )–S bond formation step.

Abstract:An efficient copper-catalyzed tandem oxidation/alpha-formylation reaction of 2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrroles in an oxygen atmosphere has been developed. The new reaction is conducted in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), which serves as both the carbonyl carbon source and solvent, in the presence of trifluoroacetic acid to directly generate structurally diverse alpha-formylpyrrole derivatives in one pot in moderate to good yields. Sensitive aldehyde groups remain intact in the presence of an oxidant, trifluoroacetic acid and a transition metal salt. A possible mechanism is presented.

Abstract:A cobalt-promoted coupling reaction of triethoxysilanes, sulfur dioxide, and electrophiles is developed. Benzylic, allylic or alkyl bromides are all efficient as electrophiles in this transformation. Moreover, the reactions with other electrophilic partners including iodonium salts and electron-poor (hetero) aryl chlorides proceed smoothly as well under the standard conditions. The sulfinate intermediates are generated in situ from the reaction of triethoxysilanes and sulfur dioxide under cobalt-promoted conditions, which subsequently combine with various electrophiles to produce the corresponding sulfones in moderate to good yields.
