Abstract:A highly enantioselective intramolecular 6-exo-trig aza-Michael addition was developed to afford chiral 3-substituted 1,2-oxazinanes in high yields (up to 99% yield) and good enantioselectivities (up to 98/2 er). These reactions were enabled by a quinine-derived primary-tertiary diamine as a catalyst and pentafluoropropionic acid (PFP) as a co-catalyst.

Abstract:The enantioselective synthesis of phenanthroquinolizidine alkaloids cryptopleurine and boehmeriasin A was achieved in eight steps from commercial available Cbz-protected 2-piperidinone in 22% and 20% overall yield, respectively. The key steps of this route are intramolecular enantioselective aza-Michael addition, intramolecular aldol addition, and oxidative coupling.

Abstract:An efficient and enantioselective strategy to synthesize benzoindolizidines from alpha,beta-unsaturated amino ketones via domino intramolecular aza-Michael addition/alkylation was developed. These reactions were enabled by cinchona alkaloid-derived quaternary ammonium salts as the phase-transfer catalyst. A variety of benzoindolizidines were prepared in good yields (up to 93%) and enantioselectivities (up to 92.8 : 7.2 er).

Abstract:A new useful and effective chiral amine-catalyzed oxa- and aza-Michael-Michael cascade methodology for the construction of enantiomerically enriched indolinones spiro-fused with chromans or tetrahydroquinolines is reported. Abstract:A four-component asymmetric α-aminoxylation/aza-Michael/Mannich cascade reaction for the construction of fully substituted chiral tetrahydro-1,2-oxazine derivatives was accomplished in high yields with excellent enantio- and diastereoselectivities under mild conditions. The 1,2-oxazine derivative could be transformed to the corresponding multifunctional chiral amino alcohol by N-O cleavage and fused-tricyclic 4-amino-substituted tetrahydroquinolines in good yields with excellent stereoselectivities followed by a Friedel-Crafts reaction. Also a 4-alkoxy-substituted tetrahydroquinoline was achieved by C-4 inversion of a 4-amino-substituted tetrahydroquinoline.

Abstract:An organocatalytic enantioselective Michael addition of 5 H ‐thiazol‐4‐ones to 1‐azadienes has been developed. In the presence of chiral phosphoric acid, a series of optically active benzofuran derivatives featured by vicinal sulfur‐containing quaternary and tertiary stereocenters were obtained in high yields (42‐99%) with high stereoselectivities (15‐96% ee and 2:1‐>20:1 dr).
