Abstract:Rh(III)-catalyzed C(sp(3)) - H bond aminocarbonylation of 8-methylquinolines and isocyanates has been realized under mild conditions. This approach is applicable to different aryl and alkyl isocyanates, leading to the synthesis of various alpha-quinolinyl amide compounds in moderate to excellent yields. A plausible mechanism for this transformation is proposed according to the experimental results obtained.

Abstract:A simple and efficient procedure for the synthesis of pyridazin-3(2H)-ones through copper-catalyzed dehydrogenation of a single C-C bond of 4,5-dihydropyridazin-3(2H)-ones to a C=C bond with oxygen as the terminal oxidant is described. Functional groups including hydroxy, carboxylic, bromo, chloro, cyano, nitro and alkoxy were all tolerated under the reaction conditions. Moreover, this methodology was applied to the preparation of a series of structurally similar N-substituted 6-phenylpyridazinone compounds containing fluorine. The dehydrogenation reactions exhibit good yields and selectivity.

Abstract:A novel and efficient copper-catalyzed cascade method for the synthesis of quinazoline derivatives has been developed. The protocol uses readily available substituted (2-bromophenyl)methylamines and amidine hydrochlorides as the starting materials, inexpensive CuBr as the catalyst, and economical and environment friendly air as the oxidant, and the corresponding quinazoline derivatives were obtained in moderate to good yields. The procedure underwent sequential intermolecular N-arylation, intramolecular nucleophilic substitution and aerobic oxidation.

Abstract:An efficient approach to H-pyrazolo[5,1-a]isoquinolines through a reaction of N′-(2-alkynylbenzylidene)hydrazide with amine in the presence of a cooperative catalysis under mild conditions is reported. The palladium-catalyzed oxidation of amine in air leading to the formation of enamine is the key step during the transformation.

Abstract:A series of 15-arylisoquinolino[2′,1′:1,2]imidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolines was synthesized by a copper(I)-catalyzed reaction of 2-(2-bromophenyl)-1H-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10] phenanthrolines and terminal alkyne in the presence of Cs2CO3. It was proved to be an efficient method for the synthesis of hexacyclic compounds bearing three kinds of heterocycles which were isoquinoline, imidazole and phenanthroline.

Abstract:A novel, efficient, and practical method for the synthesis of imidazopyridine derivatives has been developed through the copper-catalyzed aerobic oxidative CH functionalization of substituted pyridines with N-(alkylidene)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amines. The procedure occurs by cleavage of the NN bond in the N-(alkylidene)-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amines and activation of an aryl CH bond in the substituted pyridines. This is the first example of the preparation of imidazopyridine derivatives by using pyridines as the substrates by transition-metal-catalyzed CH functionalization. This method should provide a novel and efficient strategy for the synthesis of other nitrogen heterocycles.
