Abstract:In this paper, the equivalence classification of the linear non-autonomous dynamic systems near singularities is given. Under some conditions their equivalence classes are the same as the autonomous ones. Using a series of linear and nonlinear transforms, the equivalence classification is proved.

Abstract:With the linear matrix inequalities (LMI) method, this paper investigates the stability of a class of hybrid systems with uncertain nonlinear subsystems. Based on single Lyapunov function, the sufficient conditions of this system for global asymptotic stability are proposed. Furthermore, using the method of piecewise quadratic Lyapunov function, the sufficient conditions of this system for local asymptotic stability are derived. By applying the result, the sufficient conditions of stability can be formulated as a convex problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be solved by relevant software.

Abstract:In this paper, the finite-time stability of nonautonomous systems is studied by using Lyapunov Krasovskii method and Gronwall inequality. Firstly, a new lemma for the finite-time stability for nonautonomous systems is given by using Gronwall inequality. which make the derivative of Lyapunov function not to be negative all the time. Then, based on the new lemma and Lyapunov Krasovskii method, some finite-time stability criteria about nonautonomous linear systems and nonlinear systems are proposed. Based on this, by designing controllers, the finite-time stabilizable theorem is obtained. In addition, it is pointed out that the conclusion of this paper is more general than the existing literature in the remarks. Finally, several examples are simulated with MATLAB to verify the effectiveness of the results.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss the classification problem for linear time-invariant multivariable systems without control. It turns out that the observability and stability are invariant for topological equivalent systems. Abstract results concerning system decomposition according to eigenvalues and observability are obtained. Finally, as concrete examples, the topological equivalence canonical forms for a three dimensional system equipped with a scalar observation are presented explicitly.

Abstract:This paper considers global properties of a class of nonlinear systems with infinite equilibria. Time-domain and frequency-domain criteria for dichotomy and gradient-like behavior are established. Similar to the sector condition in absolute stability problems, the bounded derivative condition of nonlinear functions can be used to reduce the conservativeness of the given criteria. Compared with the frequency-domain conditions, the time-domain inequalities can be solved easily by linear matrix inequality (LMI) toolbox and used to discuss controller design problems. Several examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the results.
On the Local Controllability of a Class of Quadratic Systems

Abstract:The local controllability of a rich class of affine nonlinear control systems with nonhomogeneous quadratic drift and constant control vector fields is analyzed. The interest in this particular class of systems stems from the ubiquity in science and engineering of some of its notable representatives, namely the Sprott system, the Lorenz system and the rigid body among others. A necessary and sufficient condition for strong accessibility reminiscent of the Kalman rank condition is derived, and it generalizes Crouch's condition for the rigid body. This condition is in general not sufficient to infer small-time local controllability. However, under some additional mild assumptions local controllability is established. In particular for the Sprott and Lorenz systems, sharp conditions for small-time local controllability are obtained in the single-input case.

Abstract:This paper establishes topological (equi-)semiconjugacy and (equi-)conjugacy between induced non-autonomous set-valued systems and subshifts of finite type. First, some necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a non-autonomous discrete system to be topologically semiconjugate or conjugate to a subshift of finite type. Further, several sufficient conditions for it to be topologically equi-semiconjugate or equi-conjugate to a subshift of finite type are obtained. Consequently, estimations of topological entropy and several criteria of Li-Yorke chaos and distributional chaos in a sequence are derived. Second, the relationships of several related dynamical behaviors between the non-autonomous discrete system and its induced set-valued system are investigated. Based on these results, the paper furthermore establishes the topological (equi-)semiconjugacy and (equi-)conjugacy between induced set-valued systems and subshifts of finite type. Consequently, estimations of the topological entropy for the induced set-valued system are obtained, and several criteria of Li-Yorke chaos and distributional chaos in a sequence are established. Some of these results not only extend the existing related results for autonomous discrete systems to non-autonomous discrete systems, but also relax the assumptions of the counterparts in the literature. Two examples are finally provided for illustration.

Abstract:In this paper, several different concepts of controllability are investigated for a class of linear singular systems which system parameters are piecewise constant. Necessary and sufficient geometric criteria for C-controllability and R-controllability of such systems are established, respectively. These conditions can be easily transformed into algebraic form. By applying the principle of duality, C-observability is discussed as well. Furthermore, the intrinsic relationship between these results and existing results are also discussed. Then, a novel necessary, and sufficient criterion for C-controllability of linear time-invariant singular systems is derived as a byproduct.

Abstract:Linear switched systems are an important class of hybrid dynamic systems. The controllability of linear switched systems and the necessary and sufficient criteria for the controllability of linear switched systems were studied by analyzing the performance of linear switched systems using nonsingular transformations. The controllability of linear switched systems was found to be invariant for any nonsingular transformation. Then, with the proper nonsingular transformation, the system state space could be decomposed into two parts which gave a new proof for a necessary condition for controllability of linear switched systems. Finally, an example is given to verify that the controllability is not changed by any nonsingular transformation.
