Abstract:Layer structural MoO2/carbon hybrid composites (LMC) were prepared via simply two-step method by using organic–inorganic MoO3/(dodecyl amine, DDA) as precursor followed with annealing at 600 °C under reducing atmosphere. As an anode material, the hybrid composites deliver a good capacity of 675 mAh/g after 60 cycles and show a much better performance in cycling and rate capability than that of bare MoO2. The significant improvement may be partially ascribed to the layered structure of the composites, which is beneficial for diffusion of Li+ by decreasing the diffusion path lengths. In addition, combining carbon with MoO2 improves the electronic conductivity of composites and maintains the mechanical integrity of electrode, thus decreases the mechanical degradation and pulverization. The presented work provides a strategy to design and prepare electrode carbon-containing electrode materials for better energy storage properties.
