Abstract:In this paper, we study a p(x) -biharmonic equation with Navier boundary condition Δ^2_p(x)u+a(x)|u|^p(x)-2u= λ f(x,u)+μ g(x,u) in Ω, u=Δ u=0 on ∂Ω. Here Ω⊂ℝ^N ( N≥1 ) is a bounded domain with smooth boundary ∂ Ω, Δ^2_p(x)u is a p(x) -biharmonic operator with p(x) ∈ C(Ω) , p(x)>1 . λ,μ∈ℝ , a∈ L^∞(Ω) such that inf_x∈Ωa(x)=a^->0 . By variational methods, we establish the results of existence and non-existence of solutions.

We make use of the concentration-compactness principle and variational methods to obtain the multiplicity of solutions both in non-degenerate and degenerate case.

Abstract:Existence and uniqueness of positive radial solution u(p) of the Navier boundary value problem: {Delta(2)u = u(p) in R-N\(B) over bar, u > 0 in R-N\(B) over bar, u = Delta u = 0 on partial derivative B, where B subset of R-N (N >= 5) is the unit ball and p > N-4/N+4, are obtained. Meanwhile, the asymptotic behavior as p -> infinity of u(p) is studied. We also find the conditions such that u(p) is non-degenerate.

Abstract:In this paper, we first prove some propositions of Sobolev spaces defined on a locally finite graph G=(V,E), which are fundamental when dealing with equations on graphs under the variational framework. Then we consider a nonlinear biharmonic equationΔ2u−Δu+(λa+1)u=|u|p−2u on G=(V,E). Under some suitable assumptions, we prove that for any λ>1 and p>2, the equation admits a ground state solution uλ. Moreover, we prove that as λ→+∞, the solutions uλ converge to a solution of the equation{Δ2u−Δu+u=|u|p−2u,inΩ,u=0,on∂Ω, where Ω={x∈V:a(x)=0} is the potential well and ∂Ω denotes the boundary of Ω.

Abstract:This paper deals with a singular biharmonic equations with p -Laplacian and Hardy potential. Using Mountain Pass Theorem and Fountain Theorem with Cerami condition, we obtain the existence and multiplicity of sign-changing high-energy solutions under some suitable conditions on the nonlinear term f(x,u) . In addition, by applying an abstract critical point theorem of Kajikiya in [A critical point theorem related to the symmetric mountain pass lemma and its applications to elliptic equations. J Funct Anal. 2005;225(2):352–370], a sequence of sign-changing solutions converging to zero for the biharmonic equations with sublinear nonlinearities is also obtained.

Abstract:The authors of this article study the existence and uniqueness of weak solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for ut=div((|u|σ+d0)|∇u|p(x,t)−2∇u)+f(x,t)(0<σ<2).. They apply the method of parabolic regularization and Galerkin's method to prove the existence of solutions to the mentioned problem and then prove the uniqueness of the weak solution by arguing by contradiction. The authors prove that the solution approaches 0 in L2(Ω) norm as t → ∞.

The symmetry and monotonicity properties of the singular solutions will be given by taking advantage of the moving plane method and the approach of moving spheres.

Abstract:In this article, we investigate generalized solutions for elliptic equations involving double-phase (p(x),q(x)) -Laplacian operators with Hardy potential in variable exponent spaces. (p(x),q(x)) -Laplacian operators include p -Laplacian, q -Laplacian, p(x) -Laplacian and q(x) -Laplacian operators. Additionally, (p(x),q(x)) -Laplacian elliptic equations with singular coefficients under mixed boundary conditions are seldom mentioned in previous work. Some new theorems of the existence on the generalized solutions are reestablished for such equations via variational methods when the nonlinearity satisfies suitable hypotheses in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces.
