Abstract:The authors study finite p-groups G such that A(G) is minimal non-abelian for all non-normal subgroup A < G. This topic is Problem 805 posed by Berkovich and Janko in [4]. The authors give the complete classification of such kind of p-groups.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the structure of finite CN-groups, which are groups with every subgroup c-normal. We obtain the following results: A group G is a CN-group if and only if each subgroup of G∈is normal in G. A group G is a CN-group if and only if the G is solvable and c-normality is transitive in G. Let P be a p-group where p is a odd prime. Then P is a CN-group if and only if Φ(P)≤Z(P). We also get some criteria of CN-group in terms of direct product of CN-groups.

Abstract:Let G be a finite group and H a subgroup of G.It says that H is an S-quasinormal subgroup of G if HP=PH for any Sylow subgroup P of G;H is an S-quasinormally embedded subgroup of G if every Sylow subgroup of H is a Sylow subgroup of some S-quasinormal subgroup of G;H is a C*-normal subgroup of G if there exists a normal subgroup K of G such that G=HK and H∩K is S-quasinormally embedded in G.Let d be the smallest generator number of a p-group P.Consider a set Μd(P)=P1,…,Pd of maximal subgroups of P such that ∩di=1Pi=Φ(P).The aim is to investigate the structure of finite group G under the assumption that all members in Μd(P) are C*-normal in G,and generalizes some recent results.

Abstract:We use ?-quasinormal condition on minimal subgroups to Characterize the structure of a finite group through the theory of formation. We give some equivalent conditions of a nilpotent group or a saturated formation containing the nilpotent groups. Our results generalize earlier theorems of Yokoyama, Ballester-Bolinches and Pedraza Aguilera.

Abstract:Let p be a prime and Fp be a finite field of p elements. Let FpG denote the group algebra of the finite p -group G over the field Fp and V(FpG) denote the group of normalized units in FpG . Suppose that G is a finite p -group given by a central extension of the form 1→Zpn×Zpm→G→Zp×⋯×Zp→1 and G′≅Zp, n,m≥1 and p is odd. In this paper, the structure of G is determined. And the relations of V(FpG)pl and Gpl, Ωl(V(FpG)) and Ωl(G) are given. Furthermore, there is a direct proof for V(FpG)p∩G=Gp .

Abstract:A subgroup of index p k of a finite p-group G is called a k-maximal subgroup of G. Denote by d(G) the number of elements in a minimal generator-system of G and by δ k (G) the number of k-maximal subgroups which do not contain the Frattini subgroup of G. In this paper, the authors classify the finite p-groups with δd(G)(G) ≤ p2 and δd(G)−1(G) = 0, respectively.

Abstract:Abstract A finite group P is said to be primary if for some prime p. We say a primary subgroup P of a finite group G satisfies the Frobenius condition in G if is a p-group provided P is p-group. In this article, we determine the structure of a finite group G in which every non-subnormal primary subgroup satisfies the Frobenius condition. In particular, we prove that if every non-normal primary subgroup of G satisfies the Frobenius condition, then is abelian and every maximal non-normal nilpotent subgroup U of G with is a Carter subgroup of G.

Abstract:Let $p$ be a prime and $\mathbb{F}_p$ be a finite field of $p$ elements. Let $\mathbb{F}_pG$ denote the group algebra of the finite $p$-group $G$ over the field $\mathbb{F}_p$ and $V(\mathbb{F}_pG)$ denote the group of normalized units in $\mathbb{F}_pG$. Suppose that $G$ is a finite $p$-group given by a central extension of the form $$1\longrightarrow \mathbb{Z}_{p^n}\times \mathbb{Z}_{p^m} \longrightarrow G \longrightarrow \mathbb{Z}_p\times \cdots\times \mathbb{Z}_p \longrightarrow 1$$ and $G'\cong \mathbb{Z}_p$, $n, m\geq 1$ and $p$ is odd. In this paper, the structure of $G$ is determined. And the relations of $V(\mathbb{F}_pG)^{p^l}$ and $G^{p^l}$, $\Omega_l(V(\mathbb{F}_pG))$ and $\Omega_l(G)$ are given. Furthermore, there is a direct proof for $V(\mathbb{F}_pG)^p\bigcap G=G^p$.

Abstract:For a group $G$, a {\it normalizer covering} of $G$ is a finite set of proper normalizers of some subgroups of $G$ whose union is $G$. We study $p$-groups ($p$ a prime) without a normalizer covering. As an application, we determine some non-nilpotent groups having a nilpotent normalizer covering.

Abstract:Let G be a group and [Formula: see text]. G is said to be a [Formula: see text]-group if [Formula: see text] is a chain under set inclusion. In this paper, we prove that a finite [Formula: see text]-group is a semidirect product of a Sylow p-subgroup and an abelian [Formula: see text]-subgroup. For the case of G being a finite p-group, we obtain an optimal upper bound of [Formula: see text] for a [Formula: see text] p-group G. We also prove that a [Formula: see text] p-group is metabelian when [Formula: see text] and provide an example showing that a non-abelian [Formula: see text] p-group is not necessarily metabelian when [Formula: see text]. In particular, [Formula: see text] 2-groups are characterized.

Abstract:Let A and G be finite groups such that A acts coprimely on G by automorphisms. We prove that if every self-centralizing non-nilpotent A -invariant subgroup of G is a TI-subgroup or a subnormal subgroup, then every non-nilpotent A -invariant subgroup of G is subnormal and G is p -nilpotent or p -closed for any prime divisor p of | G | . If every self-centralizing non-metacyclic A -invariant subgroup of G is a TI-subgroup or a subnormal subgroup, then every non-metacyclic A -invariant subgroup of G is subnormal and G is solvable.

If P is seminormal in G, then the following statements hold: 1) G is a p-soluble group and P′ ≤ O p (G); 2) l p (G) ≤ 2 and l π (G) ≤ 2; 3) if a π-Hall subgroup of G is q-supersoluble for some q ∈ π, then G is q-supersoluble.

Abstract:If $G$ be a finite $p$-group and $\chi$ is a non-linear irreducible character of $G$, then $\chi(1)\leq |G/Z(G)|^{\frac{1}{2}}$. In \cite{fernandez2001groups}, Fernández-Alcober and Moretó obtained the relation between the character degree set of a finite $p$-group $G$ and its normal subgroups depending on whether $|G/Z(G)|$ is a square or not. In this paper we investigate the finite $p$-group $G$ where for any normal subgroup $N$ of $G$ with $G'\not \leq N$ either $N\leq Z(G)$ or $|NZ(G)/Z(G)|\leq p$ and obtain some alternate characterizations of such groups. We find that if $G$ is a finite $p$-group with $|G/Z(G)|=p^{2n+1}$ and $G$ satisfies the condition that for any normal subgroup $N$ of $G$ either $G'\not \leq N$ or $N\leq Z(G)$, then $cd(G)=\{1, p^{n}\}$. We also find that if $G$ is a finite $p$-group with nilpotency class not equal to $3$ and $|G/Z(G)|=p^{2n}$ and $G$ satisfies the condition that for any normal subgroup $N$ of $G$ either $G'\not \leq N$ or $|NZ(G)/Z(G)|\leq p$, then $cd(G) \subseteq \{1, p^{n-1}, p^{n}\}$.
