Abstract:Throughout this paper, all groups are finite and sigma is some partition of the set of all primes P (that is, sigma = {sigma(i) vertical bar i is an element of I}, where P = boolean OR(i is an element of I)sigma(i) and sigma(i) boolean AND sigma(j) = empty set for all i not equal j). A subgroup A of a group G is said to be sigma-subnormal in G if there is a subgroup chain A = A(0) <= A(1) <= . . . <= A(n) = G such that either A(i-1) >= A(i) or A(i)/(A(i-1))A(i) is a sigma(j)-group for some j = j(i) for all i = 1, . . ., n. Abstract:Let be the set of all prime numbers, I be a set and be a partition of . A finite group is said to be - primary if it is a -group for some , and we say that a finite group is - solvable if all its chief factors are -primary. A subgroup H of a finite group G is said to be - subnormal in G if there is a chain of subgroups of G such that is normal in or is -primary for all . Given subgroups H and A of a -solvable finite group G , we prove two criteria for H to be -subnormal in . Our criteria extend classical subnormality criteria of Fumagalli [5], which themselves generalize a classical subnormality criterion of Wielandt [13].

In this paper, we investigate the structure of a finite group G under the assumption that all maximal subgroups are c -subnormal subgroups and present some new conditions for supersolvability.

Abstract:Let $$\sigma =\{\sigma _i |i\in I\}$$ be some partition of all primes $${\mathbb {P}}$$ and G a finite group. A subgroup H of G is said to be $$\sigma $$ -subnormal in G if there exists a subgroup chain $$H=H_0\le H_1\le \cdots \le H_n=G$$ such that either $$H_{i-1}$$ is normal in $$H_i$$ or $$H_i/(H_{i-1})_{H_i}$$ is a finite $$\sigma _j$$ -group for some $$j \in I$$ for $$i = 1, \ldots , n$$ . We call a finite group G a $$T_{\sigma }$$ -group if every $$\sigma $$ -subnormal subgroup is normal in G. In this paper, we analyse the structure of the $$T_{\sigma }$$ -groups and give some characterisations of the $$T_{\sigma }$$ -groups.

Abstract:Let $\sigma=\{\sigma_j\,:\, j\in J\}$ be a partition of the set $\mathbb{P}$ of all prime numbers. A subgroup $X$ of a finite group $G$ is~\textit{$\sigma$-subnormal} in $G$ if there exists a chain of subgroups $$X=X_0\leq X_1\leq\ldots\leq X_n=G$$ such that, for each $1\leq i\leq n-1$, $X_{i-1}\trianglelefteq X_i$ or $X_i/(X_{i-1})_{X_i}$ is a $\sigma_{j_i}$-group for some $j_i\in J$. Skiba~[12] studied the main properties of $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups in finite groups and showed that the set of all $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups plays a relevant role in the structure of a finite soluble group. In [5], we laid the foundation of a general theory of $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups (and $\sigma$-series) in locally finite groups. It turns out that the main difference between the finite and the locally finite case concerns the behaviour of the join of $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups: in finite groups, $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups form a sublattice of the lattice of all subgroups [3], but this is no longer true for arbitrary locally finite groups. This is similar to what happens with subnormal subgroups, so it makes sense to study the class $\mathfrak{S}_\sigma^\infty$ (resp. $\mathfrak{S}_\sigma$) of locally finite groups in which the join of (resp. of finitely many) $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups is $\sigma$-subnormal. Our aim is to study how much one can extend a group in one of these classes before going outside the same class (see for example Theorems~3.6, 3.8, 5.5 and 5.7). Also, $\sigma$-subnormality criteria for the join of $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups are obtained: similarly to a celebrated theorem of Williams (see [15]), we give a necessary and sufficient conditions for a join of two $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups to always be $\sigma$-subnormal; consequently, we show that the join of two orthogonal $\sigma$-subnormal subgroups is $\sigma$-subnormal (extending a result of Roseblade [11]).

Abstract:Let A and G be finite groups such that A acts coprimely on G by automorphisms. We prove that if every self-centralizing non-nilpotent A -invariant subgroup of G is a TI-subgroup or a subnormal subgroup, then every non-nilpotent A -invariant subgroup of G is subnormal and G is p -nilpotent or p -closed for any prime divisor p of | G | . If every self-centralizing non-metacyclic A -invariant subgroup of G is a TI-subgroup or a subnormal subgroup, then every non-metacyclic A -invariant subgroup of G is subnormal and G is solvable.

Abstract:Suppose that $ \sigma = \{ {\sigma}_{i} : i \in I \} $ is a partition of the set $ \mathbb{P} $ of all primes. A subgroup $ A $ of a finite group $ G $ is said to be $ \sigma $- subnormal in $ G $ if $ A $ can be joined to $ G $ by a chain of subgroups $ A = A_{0} \subseteq A_{1} \subseteq \cdots \subseteq A_{n} = G $ such that either $ A_{i-1} $ normal in $ A_{i} $ or $ A_{i}/ Core_{A_{i}}(A_{i-1}) $ is a $ {\sigma}_{j} $-group for some $ j \in I $, for every $ 1\leq i \leq n $. A $ \sigma $-subnormality criterion related to products of subgroups of finite $ \sigma $-soluble groups is proved in the paper. As a consequence, a characterisation of the $ \sigma $-Fitting subgroup of a finite $ \sigma $-soluble group naturally emerges.

Abstract:Let $t$ be a fixed natural number. A subgroup $H$ of a group $G$ will be called $\mathrm{K}$-$\mathbb{P}_{t}$-subnormal in $G$ if there exists a chain of subgroups $H = H_{0} \leq H_{1} \leq \cdots \leq H_{m-1} \leq H_{m} = G$ such that either $H_{i-1}$ is normal in $H_{i}$ or $|H_{i} : H_{i-1}|$ is a some prime $p$ and $p-1$ is not divisible by the $(t+1)$th powers of primes for every $i = 1,\ldots , n$. In this work, properties of $\mathrm{K}$-$\mathbb{P}_{t}$-subnormal subgroups and classes of groups with Sylow $\mathrm{K}$-$\mathbb{P}_{t}$-subnormal subgroups are obtained.
