Abstract:Given a class ℑ of finite groups, a subgroup H of a group G is called ℑ n - normal in G if there exists a normal subgroup T of G such that HT is a normal subgroup of G and ( H ∩ T ) H G / H G is contained in the ℑ-hypercenter Z ∞ ℑ ( G/H G ) of G/H G . We obtain some results about the ℑ n -normal subgroups and use them to study the structure of some groups.

Abstract:In this paper,we prove that a finite group with exactly two conjugacy classes of non-nilpotent maximal subgroups is solvable.Furthermore,we give an equivalent characterization of a finite non-solvable group with exactly two classes of non-nilpotent maximal subgroups of the same order.

Abstract:Let $G$ be a finite solvable group and $H$ a non-normal core-free subgroup of $G$. We show that if the normalizer of any non-trivial normal subgroup of $Fit(H)$ is equal $H$, then $H$ has a nilpotent normal complement $K$ such that $G=KH$ and $KZ(Fit(H))$ is a Frobenius group.

Abstract:In this paper, the structure of uncountable groups with finitely many normalizers of large subgroups is studied and the connections between this property and other natural finiteness conditions on large subgroups of uncountable groups are investigated. In particular, groups in which every large subgroup is close to be normal with the only obstruction of a finite section and groups with finitely many commutator subgroups of large subgroups are considered. Moreover, groups with a finite covering consisting of groups with normal large subgroups are studied.

Abstract:Given a finite group $G$, we say that $G$ has weak normal covering number $\gamma_w(G)$ if $\gamma_w(G)$ is the smallest integer with $G$ admitting proper subgroups $H_1,\ldots,H_{\gamma_w(G)}$ such that each element of $G$ has a conjugate in $H_i$, for some $i\in \{1,\ldots,\gamma_w(G)\}$, via an element in the automorphism group of $G$. We prove that the weak normal covering number of every non-abelian simple group is at least $2$ and we classify the non-abelian simple groups attaining $2$. As an application, we classify the non-abelian simple groups having normal covering number $2$. We also show that the weak normal covering number of an almost simple group is at least two up to one exception. We determine the weak normal covering number and the normal covering number of the almost simple groups having socle a sporadic simple group. Using similar methods we find the clique number of the invariably generating graph of the almost simple groups having socle a sporadic simple group.

Abstract:Landau's theorem on conjugacy classes asserts that there are only finitely many finite groups, up to isomorphism, with exactly $k$ conjugacy classes for any positive integer $k$. We show that, for any positive integers $n$ and $s$, there exists only a finite number of finite groups $G$, up to isomorphism, having a normal subgroup $N$ of index $n$ which contains exactly $s$ non-central $G$-conjugacy classes. We provide upper bounds for the orders of $G$ and $N$, which are used by using GAP to classify all finite groups with normal subgroups having a small index and few $G$-classes. We also study the corresponding problems when we only take into account the set of $G$-classes of prime-power order elements contained in a normal subgroup.

Abstract:Throughout this paper, all groups are finite and sigma is some partition of the set of all primes P (that is, sigma = {sigma(i) vertical bar i is an element of I}, where P = boolean OR(i is an element of I)sigma(i) and sigma(i) boolean AND sigma(j) = empty set for all i not equal j). A subgroup A of a group G is said to be sigma-subnormal in G if there is a subgroup chain A = A(0) <= A(1) <= . . . <= A(n) = G such that either A(i-1) >= A(i) or A(i)/(A(i-1))A(i) is a sigma(j)-group for some j = j(i) for all i = 1, . . ., n. In this review, we discuss some known results of the theory of sigma-subnormal subgroups and also some open questions in this line research.

A subgroup $H$ of a group $G$ will be called $\mathrm{K}$-$\mathbb{P}_{t}$-subnormal in $G$ if there exists a chain of subgroups $H = H_{0} \leq H_{1} \leq \cdots \leq H_{m-1} \leq H_{m} = G$ such that either $H_{i-1}$ is normal in $H_{i}$ or $|H_{i} : H_{i-1}|$ is a some prime $p$ and $p-1$ is not divisible by the $(t+1)$th powers of primes for every $i = 1,\ldots , n$.
