Abstract:P-code is chiefly applied to precise positioning service presently,which has a higher tolerance to jamming and spoofing compared to C/A code.Meanwhile,the acquisition of the weak signal in complicated environment requires higher sensitivity and shorter time.This paper proposes the improvement method of Fast Fourier Transform(FFT)-based acquisition searching in both frequency domain and PRN code phase domain—overlap average method.The algorithm has been validated by Matlab simulation and implemented in Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA) by certain design.It can improve the hardware efficiency and decrease the acquisition time.

Abstract:PN code acquisition is an important part of PN code synchronization in spread spectrum communication system,and the acquisition method based on matched filter is appropriate for short PN code acquisition because of its short acquisition time.In order to solve the problem that digital matched filter occupies too much device resources,the paper introduces an implementation architecture of matched filter based on FPGA,which is suitable for the application in which signal is over sampled.This architecture needs no multiplier unit and reduces the number of adders,meanwhile it doesn't increase the complexity of the system

Abstract:This letter proposes a parasitic elimination bootstrapped switch and a fast settling residual amplifier to be used in multiplying digital-to-analog converter (MDAC) in order to improve the performance of pipelined ADC at high frequency. The parasitic elimination bootstrapped switch improves the sampling spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) by more than 6 dB by shielding the nonlinear parasitic capacitance of the MOS transistor substrate. In addition, at high frequency, the negative zero point introduced by the later stage switch-capacitor circuit (which is easy to be ignored) will seriously deteriorates the settling time of residual amplifier in the former stage. A new zero-pole elimination technique is proposed, which greatly reduces the settling time of residual amplifier by nearly 11% and further improve the performance of MDAC. Simulated in 28 nm CMOS technology, as the input signal is 1.38 GHz, the former stage of the pipelined ADC implements high-speed high-resolution to obtain a SFDR of 75.77 dB and a signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratio (SNDR) of 68.05 dB at a sampling frequency of 2.2 GS/s.

Abstract:Two methods of rapid code acquisition based on FFT are presented, one method is based on fractional multiple sampling rate convertor, and the other is based on decimation. To reduce hardware resource, two rapid code acquisition circuits utilizes duplicate design. Two designs applied parallel pipeline structure to improve the processing speed. Block floating-point arithmetic is used to enhance the dynamic range and computation accuracy. Two designs are implemented with a chip of FPGA respectively, simulation and measurement results show that the rapid code acquisition circuit based on fractional multiple sampling rate convertor costs more hardware resource, but can gain higher acquisition accuracy to be compared with the method based on decimation.

Abstract:Fast PN code acquisition is a key technique in spread spectrum communication system. Traditional PN code acquisition algorithm costs comparatively long time in highly dynamic Doppler shift situation. An algorithm based on partial matched filtering (PMF) and fast Fourier transform (FFT) is analyzed. The method enhances the usable range of Doppler shift and shortens the time of PN code acquisition. The simulation by using Matlab verifies that the algorithm is correct and effective.

Abstract:The acquisition of Pseudo-Noise (PN) code is one of the essential technologies in Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DS/SS) communication. Conventional Parallel Matched Filter (CPMF) features in high acquisition speed but it will consume a large amount of hardware resource in the case of long PN code. This paper focuses on reducing the hardware consumption and proposes a novel matched filter architecture: Time Division Multiplex Matched Filter (TDMMF). With identical processing gain as CPMF, TDMMF can save the hardware consumption by 50, 75% and even more through reusing the shift registers, multipliers and accumulators. This makes the proposed TDMMF suitable for high speed acquisition of long PN code. © 2011 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Abstract:The proposed FPGA-based system uses DMA technology to cache multi-channel parallel data, and to send data to processing system orderly after data re-organization for display and analysis. Embedded technology is used to make system portable for operation environment of electronic equipment. Parallel digital signal acquisition experiment result shows that this system can acquire 62 channel digital signals correctly and synchronously at four gear sampling frequency of 5 MHz, 2.5 MHz, 500 kHz, and 50 Hz.

Abstract:A new architecture to realize fast acquisition for DSSS signals is proposed. This method based on parallel search of Doppler and code phase makes acquisition time hold a constant value. This architecture utilizes duplicate design to realize FFT and IFFT, and calculates the FFT of local code by software and stores its conjugate in BPROM; block floating-point arithmetic is implemented to enhance the dynamic range and computation accuracy. The whole design is implemented with one chip of XC2V3000-4 FPGA. When working clock is 58.08 MHz and code acquisition precision is 1/4 chip, the acquisition time is 2.72 ms.

Abstract:Presents a new code acquisition method to solve the problem of long code-acquisition time in high dynamic DSSS receivers having large frequency offset. The study analyses first the relationship between the length of the matched filter and SNR after correlation. It then compares the performance in different detection algorithms, and analyses the performance of FFT frequency correction technology. The method presented adopts segmented matched filter detector, maximum-selection detection algorithm and FFT frequency correction with quadratic interpolation. A new code acquisition circuit module is designed. The result of Matlab simulation shows that the new acquisition method can tolerate larger frequency dynamic range and can rapidly finish code acquisition under lower SNR.

Abstract:The pseudo-code acquisition method based on matched filter has been used and researched more and more widely because of its short acquisition time.In a digital communication system,especially a system based on a SDR(software defined radio) hardware structure,digital matched filter is very useful.In order to acquire better acquisition performance,an acquisition method based on digital matched filter is presented,which is suitable for occasions that the Doppler frequency is low.This method retains the advantage of matched filter in acquisition time,meanwhile,reduces the false alarm probability and has better precision performance.This method has been successfully used in a DS-SS system.

Abstract:Pseudo noise(PN) code acquisition with very low false alarm and miss probability in a limited period of time is required for the short frame burst-mode directsequence spread-spectrum(DSSS) communication systems.A novel noncoherent approach,based on multi-symbol accumulation-to-PN code acquisition and digital matched filters(DMFs),was proposed to solve the problem.It is an improved mode of the traditional DMF single dwell algorithm.By using the method of multi-symbol accumulation,the proposed algorithm can increase the signal-noise ratio(SNR) of code phase detection statistics,so the mean acquisition time is greatly shortened under the constraints of low input SNR and low false alarm probability.Its performance in QPSK-DSSS systems was analyzed.The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm is able to capture PN code fast under the constraints of low SNR and low false alarm probability.

Abstract:The digital matched filter(DMF) is studied extensively in order to derive the analytic expressions of the PN code acquisition by one dwell decision and two dwell decision approaches respectively. Numerical analysis is also given. It is shown that the proposed circuit based on the DMF can accelerate the process of PN code acquisition. Therefore, It is beneficial to the burst mode transmissions. Under the condition of low SNR, The speed of PN code acquisition is sensitive to the threshold of detector, in such circumstance, the approach of two dwell decision has better performance than the approach of one dwell decision.

Abstract:Considering that high computational complexity exists and it is hard to find the theory to refer when we select register state for the rapid PN code acquisition algorithm based on iterative massage passing(IMP),a modified rapid PN code acquisition algorithm based on IMP is proposed.Based on the analysis of the probability density function of posterior information,an evaluation function is constructed to measure the reliability of estimation vector of register state using a posteriori probability log-likelihood ratios(APP LLR).Then we select the estimation vector according to the reliability from high to low as register state to perform correlation test.If the correlation value is greater than the threshold value,the acquisition is successful and the acquisition procedure is stopped.Otherwise, the same operation is performed for the next estimation vector.If all the correlation values are smaller than the threshold,the acquisition fails.Finally,analysis and simulations are performed based on several m-sequences with large order.Results show that the complexity of modified algorithm is reduced to some extent,the convergence property is improved substantially and acquisition performance can be improved about 1～3 dB.This algorithm can be applied to the rapid PN acquisition,especially in spread-spectrum communication system with long PN code.

Abstract:A new improved architecture to realize rapid acquisition for direct sequence spread-spectrum signals was presented.To reduce hardware resources,this architecture utilized duplicate design to realize FFT and IFFT in the same unit and calculated the FFT of local code by software and stored it in ROM;this design applied parallel pipeline structure to improve the processing speed;block floating-point arithmetic was used to enhance the dynamic range and computation accuracy.The whole design was implemented with only one chip of XC2V3000-5 FPGA.When working clock was 29 ns and acquisition precision was 1/4 code,the acquisition time would be within 4.145 ms.The validity of design is verified by simulation and measurement results.

Abstract:Exact synchronization of PN code is the precondition of the excellences of spread spectrum communicating system, and how to rapidly and effectively make the PN code to exact synchronization becomes the key of the excellent performance of spread spectrum communicating system. After the analysis of simple serial acquisition and hybrid acquisition, this paper introduces a new acquisition method called rapid PN code acquisition using iterative message passing algorithm (IMPA). According to the channel message, rapid PN code acquisition using IMPA can obtain the local sequence directly which is roughly synchronous with the received sequence via iterative computations of the message above factor graph. The method changes generating mode of local sequence in traditional PN code acquisition algorithm. The paper shows the principle and the process of realization of the new approach, and carries out the simulation of performance of rapid PN code acquisition using IMPA, simple serial acquisition and hybrid acquisition. Simulation results show that the mean acquisition time of rapid PN code acquisition using IMPA is much shorter than both serial and hybrid search strategies. The detection probability of proposed algorithm is equivalent to the detection probability of simple serial acquisition.

Abstract:A novel DPC structure based on FPGA technology is proposed,which is based on decimation-in-time parallel radix-4 FFT algorithms.This paper develops the universal radix 4 butterfly which can be used in the three stages while doing the DPC.It can increase the usage of hardware resource.A parallel memory accessing for this DPC algorithm is used,which is based on "in-place" principle and allows conflict-free access to the 4 operands needed for calculation of the universal radix 4 butterfly in one clock.Block floating point algorithm is adopted which has the merits of high speed of fixed point and high accuracy of floating point.Results show that it computes a complex 4 096 point DPC within 140 μs.

Abstract:Based on the theory of digital matched filter and advance-lag loop,a circuit of capture and tracking of PN-code with FPGA is realized using VHDL programming.The design of all module of the circuit is discussed in detail,the circuit simulation and validation is completed,and the simulative waveform is showed.Result shows that the circuit works normal and reliable,and the system extension is convenient and flexible,which can meet the design requirements well.

Abstract:In high dynamic environment, the PN code acquisition is one of the most challenging step in the process of DS/SS systems Synchronization. Segmented matched filter (SMF) provides rapid acquisition with large frequency offset. A new scheme that differentially combine inner-symbolic sub-SMF correlation outputs and coherently accumulate over a number of consecutive symbols is proposed, and the maximum selection method is used to find the optimal aligned codephase. The theoretical derivation of probability density function of the detection variables in the proposed detector is done. Numerical simulation results with high dynamic GPS receiver show that the detection performance is tolerable to a large amount of initial frequency offset and data modulation of the DS-SS signal.
