Abstract:2-Aryl-3-Npropanoyl-5-(3-pyridyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoline(3a~3h) in yield of 65%～81% were synthesized by cyclization between propanoic anhydride and benzoyl hydrazones which was obtained by condensation of 3-pyridylbenzoyl hydrazine with arylaldehydes.The structures of 3 were confirmed by 1H NMR,IR,MS and elemental analysis.

Abstract:Condensation of 4-nicotinic hydrazine with 4-nitrobenzaldehyde,4-chlorobenzaldehyde,2-chlorobenzaldehyde,2,4-dichlorobenzaldehyde,3-nitrobenzaldehyde,4-methoxybenzaldehyde,furaldehyde and acetylbenzene produced corresponding hydrazones.Cyclization of intermediates with acetic anhydide gave the title compounds in good yield.Structures products were confirmed by elementary analyses,IR,~1HNMR,and MS spectroscopy,and fragmentation mechanism of MS spectra was discussed as well.

Abstract:Seven novel 2-aryl-5-[(4-arylthiazol-2-yl)methyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles(7a~7g) were synthesized by cyclization of N,N′-diacylhydrazines(6) in the presence of POCl3.6 were obtained from thioamides and α-bromoketones by a four-step reaction.The structures of 6 and 7 were characterized by 1H NMR,IR,MS and elemental analysis.

Abstract:Condensation of 2-bromo-4-fluorobenzoyl hydrazine(1) with aromatic aldehydes produced corresponding hydrazones(2a～2i).Cyclization of 2a～2i with propanoic anhydide gave the title compounds 3a～3i in good yields of 79.3%～85.5%.Their structures were characterized by means of elemental analysis,IR,(~(1)H NMR) and MS spectra.The preliminary antibacterial tests showed that most of them had good antibacterial activities.

Abstract:1,3,4-oxadiazolines are found to possess significant biological activities such as antibacterial,antifungal effects.According to these,we designed and synthesized some new 1,3,4-oxadiazoline derivatives.First,Ethyl 4-methylbenzoate was prepared by reaction of 4-methyl benzoic acid with anhydrous ethanol in the presence of sulfuric acid.This propound reacted with hydrazine hydrate in the presence of anhydrous ethanol as solvent to give 4-methylhydrazin(1).In the presence of anhydrous ethanol,(1) reacted with aromatic aldehydes to produce corresponding hydrazones(2a~2j).Then 2a~2j cyclodehydrated with acetic anhydride to afford the title compounds(3a~3j).The mild reactions and good yields are the merits of this method.The title structures of 3a~3j were confirmed by elementary analyses,IR,~(1)H NMR,and MS spectroscopy.

Abstract:Ethyl and phenyl oxanilates were readily prepared from N-(2-bromobenzyl)anilines and oxalyl chloride monoethyl and monophenyl esters, respectively. It was found that the ethyl oxanilate survived in the presence of K2CO3 in DMA at 120 degrees C and underwent an intramolecular direct arylation using Pd(OAc)(2)-dppf, furnishing the 5,6-dihydrophenanthridine derivative. In contrast, the corresponding phenyl oxanilates decomposed upon exposure to K2CO3 in DMA at 120 degrees C and were transformed into N-arylisoindolin-1-ones via Pd(OAc)(2)-dppf-catalyzed intramolecular decarbonylative coupling. Except for the 4-methoxy-substituted oxanilic acid phenyl ester, other phenyl oxanilates possessing electron-withdrawing (NO2, Cl) and weak electron-donating (Me) substituents provided the N-arylisoindolin-1-ones in 43-80% yields.

Abstract:Six novel 2,5-bis[4-(2-arylvinyl)phenyl]-1,3,4-oxadiazoles were synthesized by introducing 1,3,4-oxadiazole moiety into the stilbene skeleton. The synthesis route included the cyclization of p-toluic acid and hydrazine hydrate catalyzed by polyphosphoric acid (PPA), bromination of 1,3-dibromo-5,5-dimethylhydantoin (DBDMH), esterification, and the Wittig-Horner reaction. All the title compounds were characterized by (1)H-NMR, MS, and elemental analysis. UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence emission spectra in THF solution were investigated; the compounds may have potential for use in organic optical materials.
