Abstract:Software development is considered to be a kind of collaborative activity now. In this paper, we first analyze the software development activity using activity theory, and highlight its collaborative features. We then propose an architecture of process-centered context-aware software development environment, CASDE, which fully considers the key elements of PCSDEs, especially the context element. The supportive and integrated nature of the environment is emphasized in CASDE. As illustrated in activity theory, the architecture can support the three levels of collaboration, i.e., co-ordinated, co-operative, and co-constructive level. In particular, the co-operative level is supported sufficiently by the introduction of context model and context process mechanism. Based on the architecture, the software development activity can be more collaborative and quality of software system can be improved

Abstract:currently the context models focus more on the expression ability rather on the automatic deployment and execution capability. Also a context aware platform is required to support the modeling and automatic deployment and execution of the context aware system. This paper aims to build an executable context model and define the architecture of the context aware system as well. Firstly a context-aware services development model is proposed. And then the architecture of the context-aware system is defined. The lifecycle of such system includes two phase, namely design phase and running phase. In service design phase, the development model can describe user's context, situation, and services' configuration information. While in running phase, the execution engine can build the instances of a model and navigating the execution of the model, namely, receive the context changing events, manage the user's Scene transitions and invoke the context-aware services according to the scene's configuration. In addition the model is exemplified with an elder health monitoring model.

Abstract:In recent years, with the deepening research of SoftMan, the traditional SoftMan communication mode has begun to appear insufficient on the ability of expression and communication efficiency. Aiming at the problems, based on the study of previous SoftMan system and its communication theory as well as the SoftMan Knowledge model and context awareness mechanism, the paper draws lessons from the mature language specification of Agent communication, proposes the CSMKC (Context driven SoftMan Knowledge Communication) framework, designs and implements its message layer, Knowledge layer and scene layer detailedly, achieves the communication of knowledge level between different SoftMans as well as the maintenance of situational context basically. Experimental results show that when the system is to complete a task, the higher situation dependence, the more obvious advantages of CSMKC in communication consumption.

Abstract:Context-aware computing is a class of new conceptual pervasive computing system, which spring up and develop rapidly recently. In order to screen heterogeneity of ubiquitous networks and support rapid development of applications in context-awareness, the idea of middleware is widely adopted. In this paper, the middleware is proposed to support the application development of context-awareness under the wireless sensor networks environment. It applies the updated service-oriented and light-weight structure with excellent expansibility and efficiency in the running process. The runtime structure of the middleware is presented. During the process of context-awareness, the new method of awareness synchronization is designed to ensure the sensitivity to context switch. The algorithm of the energy efficiency during the context-awareness process is designed and evaluated. At the end of the paper, a healthcare scenario is used to validate the design methodology and demonstrate the supporting function of middleware.

Abstract:A new context management framework, which supports the interaction between different domain context managers, is proposed. Two different context producer-consumer patterns are defined to support context-aware applications. To deal with the mobile entity problem in cross-domain context sharing, a transparent query mechanism that enables applications to obtain context information about mobile entities from remote domains is presented. The capability of our framework is demonstrated through a user scenario.

Abstract:We envisage future context-aware applications will dynamically adapt their behaviors to various context data from sources in wide-area networks, such as the Internet. Facing the changing context and the sheer number of context sources, a data management system that supports effective source organization and efficient data lookup becomes crucial to the easy development of context-aware applications. In this paper, we propose the design of a new context data management system that is equipped with query processing capabilities. We encapsulate the context sources into physical spaces belonging to different context spaces and organize them as peers in semantic overlay networks. Abstract:A context-aware middleware,named MCSM(Mobile Context Sensing Middleware) is proposed based on mobile devices in this paper.MCSM can dynamically sense the device's current internal and external computing environment and the user's activities,and then provide such information to the upper application through a unified interface.In order to cope with the high dynamics of external sensor data,an XML-based context data description language(CDDL) is applied by MCSM.A MCSM-based prototype system shows that MCSM has good running performance and scalability,and can significantly improve the efficiency in the development of context-aware applications as well.

Abstract:Nowadays, with the development of Internet of Things and cloud computing technologies, people's daily life becomes more intelligent than ever before. As one of the most important constitute part, context aware computing technology has attracted more attentions and play an important role in providing intelligent and suitable services for users. In this paper, we will introduce a context aware service provision method for the smart campus (iCampus) environment. First, we will present a conceptual space based context modeling method. Then we will analyze a smart campus scenario and show how to use this formal model to represent a smart campus scenario. Third, we will show how to discover and compose services from three different levels, i.e. Contextual level, functional level and non-functional level. Finally, we will use an example to verify our method and give solutions.

Abstract:In the era of Web of Things and Services, Context-aware Web Services (CASs) are emerging as an important technology for building innovative context-aware applications. CASs enable the information integration from both the physical and virtual world, which affects human living. However, it is challenging to build CASs, due to the lack of context provisioning management approach and limited generic approach for formalizing the development process. We therefore propose ContextServ, a platform that uses a model-driven approach to support the full life cycle of CASs development, hence offering significant design and management flexibility. ContextServ implements a proposed UML-based modelling language ContextUML to support multiple modelling languages. It also supports dynamic adaptation of WS-BPEL based context-aware composite services by weaving context-aware rules into the process. Extensive experimental evaluations on ContextServ and its components showcase that ContextServ can support effective development and efficient execution of context-aware Web services.

Abstract:Context-aware applications demand for a distributed middleware that can collect, aggregate and deliver contextual data for applications. This paper presents one of the main components, Context-Sources Abstraction (CSA), in a middleware for building context-aware applications. The CSA component includes a set of query interfaces and an event notification mechanism to applications. In this way, the access to the hardware are encapsulated by the middleware and virtualized to the end-point applications. The architecture of the CSA and the common functions of CSA are discussed.

Abstract:Based on the object and the event context involved with Internetware,and the whole lifecycle of them,this paper studies the architecture and the supporting system of Internetware in a context-driven way to support self-adaptation and self-evolution for service entities.While the detail of the context of service entities having interaction and collaboration relationship on the Internet is analyzed,a context ontology for the Internetware is proposed firstly.Then the architecture of Internetware based on context awareness is given,and the mechanism for the Internetware to aggregate on demand and evolve dynamically under this architecture is described.Combined with the runtime features and the elements of service entities,the design of the supporting environment in the above application scenes is also given in this paper.Finally,an implementation based on OSGi service platform is given.

Abstract:Unlike those traditional layered architectures, a non-layered protocol architecture for WSNs is proposed in this paper. The goals are greater flexibility and reliability with less network resource consumption. Based on the concept of micro-modularization, the context-aware architecture allows functions to be automatically composed within each sensor node according to the context information. An experimental simulation shows that, our proposal efficiently utilizes network resources, meanwhile provides good network performances. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.

Abstract:Context-aware computing is a computing paradigm in which applications can discover and take advantage of context information. Faced with the diverse mix of distributed and heterogeneous sensors, embedded devices and mobile devices in the ubiquitous computing environments, it is fairly difficult for users to develop context-aware applications. This paper proposes ScudWare, a middleware to support the development of context-aware applications. We introduce the developing language, compiling and assembling of a context-aware application. To illustrate the developing process, we design an example which shows how the application adapts to changes in the environments.

Additionally, the architecture of middleware mainly contains five layers and two cross-layer modules: hardware abstract, service registry, context model, reasoning and application presentation layers; energy management module and security module. Abstract:Context-aware systems generally use contexts to drive higher applications.Because context information is diverse in types and values,the systems developed are poor in extensibility and stability.This paper proposed a situation-driven model for context-awareness computing.The framework is based on situation information,and it can shield the heterogeneity and diversity of original context information.Situation-recognition is the kernel of this framework.The situation is recognized from basic context information,and is used to drive related applications.This framework simplifies the processing on designing a system,and is helpful in improving the systems' extensibility and stability.The mechanism of situation recognition based on neural network avoids the problem of knowledge explosion when it uses the mechanism of reasoning.A prototype system was implemented,and it validated the proposed infrastructure.
