Research on Firms' Human Capital Investment on Workers

Abstract:This paper examines the relationship between the receipt of firm-provided training and the characteristics of workers, firms and match of firm-worker, and explores the impact of firm-provided training on wage level using data from recent survey. The result shows that firm-provided training investment is unequal considerably. Workers with high skill level and rank obtain plentiful human capital investment, but general workers located in manufacturing and technology sectors acquire less training resource. State-owned enterprises invest too much on workers' general training instead of firm-specific training, and foreign-owned enterprises are the other way round. Firms with dense technology and capital or rapid technology change pay more attention to workers' training than others with traditional dense labor. The study discovers that most of firm-provided general training affects wage level significantly yet. These results make for us to understand the turnover behavior of state owned enterprises' workers in labor market.
The Occupational Categorization of Farmer Laborers and Human Capital Restriction

Abstract:Job selection is related to human capital. In the urban job market,farmer laborers mainly select their jobs in the fully competitive one for rural laborers. As a result,human capital has become the precondition for their job selection. The questionnaire and demonstration analysis for farmer laborers in the Hangzhou area indicate that educational level may decide their position as manager,technician or company employee; that job training experience is conductive to the employment rate in service industry,factory industry and construction industry,while age is the key factor in this regard; and that the working experience in the cities is positive for the laborers to select their jobs. It is thus concluded that on the basis of compulsory education,we should invest more human capital in developing vocational education and enhancing job training and vocational guidance. Firstly,we categorize the occupation of farmer laborers,according to the questionnaire statistics,into the following five: (1) managers and technicians; (2) company employees; (3) wholesalers and retailers; (4) service workers; and (5) construction and other industrial workers. In addition,we measure their human capital situation by educational level,vocational training,working experience in the cities,age and sex,which can reflect their individual characteristic as extrinsic consideration. It is obviously manifested in the distribution chart that there is close relationship between educational level and occupation. Secondly,we have established a Multinomial Logit model regarding farmer laborers' job selection to analyze the influence on the jobs exerted by various human capital factors. The analysis shows that different factors,such as educational level,job training,working experience in the cities,age and sexes,produce different effects on their urban employment respectively. Unlike the working experience in the cities which is a positive factor,lower-level occupations are mainly related to age,job training,while higher-level occupations are to educational level. Consequently,human capital is the essential factor,which restricts the farmer laborers to improving their social and economic status to break away from the current vulnerable group. Given the fact that the farmer laborers themselves are unable to invest human capital independently,it is suggested that government guarantee the compulsory education in rural areas,especially vocational education,with a view to increasing their competitive ability to find a job and upgrading themselves to a higher-level occupation.

Abstract:Based on adaptive performance theory,the survey study focused on training evaluation criteria was carried out in 6 typical cities in China including Shanghai,Beijing,Hangzhou,Chongqing and Guangzhou,and 334 valid samples were got in this survey.The results of exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis revealed a reliable four-dimension construct in management training settings.They were named: dealing with work pressure and emergency,adapting to diverse culture and complex interrelationship,on-job learning continuously and solving problems creatively.Finally some suggestions for further study were discussed.

Abstract:The IPMA-HR competency model forms the basis for a certification training program developed by International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) for HR professionals, which has been introduced into China in recent years. The program is welcomed by Chinese HR professionals and serves as fairly popular and influential competency training for human resources and the HR certification system of China. However, few scholars have conducted systematic tests and analyses on the model's stability, dependability and its scientific nature and no actual measurement has been performed on its reliability and validity as well. From empirical study perspective and on the basis of field survey and data collected in this study, we aim to test and analyze the four fundamental roles and twenty two competencies designed in the IPMA-HR Competency Model through using two main methods: the reliability & validity test and the path analysis. Besides concluding with positive findings of the program, we also summarize the practical applications of the IPMA-HR Competency Model in China's HR management and training market and propose our suggestions to improve the competency model in terms of a cultural identity perspective.

Abstract:Transferring rural labour to non-farm industries and cities is important to solve the problems of agriculture and countryside,and is necessary to economic and social development.At present,the low skill levels of rural labour force delay the transfer process.Therefore,it's quite urgent to enhance the training of farmers on non-farm skills and improve their employment capabilities.Based on the theory of human capital investment,the paper analyzes the market mechanism of rural labour force training with the method of microeconomics.The policy implications of the analysis are exerting the roles of the market mechanism and adopting the training mechanism of government dominance and marketalized operation,in order to ensure equity and efficiency.
Determinants in Landless Farmers’ Willingness to Accept Training and Its Solutions

Abstract:In recent years, as an invisible vulnerable group in the course of China’s reform, opening-up and urbanization, landless farmers’ reemployment has attracted great attention from all walks of life. Promoting landless farmers’ skill training, improving their comprehensive quality and upgrading their employment abilities are deemed as one of the most effective ways to solve their reemployment issues. However, landless farmers are uninterested in some existing training programs. A questionnaire survey of landless farmers in the Sandun town of Hangzhou city on their demands for training was conducted. The analysis of individual, household, social and political factors affecting landless farmers’ willingness to accept training showed that their previous skill training experience, employment relationship, attitudes toward training effect and training time had significant effects on their willingness to accept training. Landless farmers who had previous skill training experience and positive attitudes toward training effects were more willing to participate in the training. Training programs in the evenings rather than in the weekends would increase landless farmers’ possibilities to participate in training. Therefore, the departments concerned should make more efforts to publicize the training activities, improve their positive effects, optimize the course setup, quicken the system construction and hence improve the reemployment abilities of landless farmers through training.

Abstract:With the rapid development of economic production, the number of blue-collar employees continues to grow, and the problems of blue-collar employees have become increasingly prominent. This paper takes the blue-collar employees of foreign enterprise in Yizhuang Economic Development Zone, Daxing District, Beijing as a sample to analyze the sources of stress. Because the questionnaire involves a lot of directions, the main methods of this study are principal component analysis and factor analysis. It is found that the main factors of stress for blue-collar employees in Yizhuang Economic Development Zone, Daxing District, Beijing are: "physical health", "living environment", "enterprises internal environment ", "family relationship environment", "employees personal development and expectation", "interpersonal relationship" and "family development expectations (housing)". At the same time, the study puts forward some constructive suggestions on the problem of stress sources. In the aspect of relieving pressure, the company should design the reasonable salary and performance system, arrange the work task reasonably, increase the training of psychological counseling to relieve the pressure of blue-collar workers. Individual blue-collar workers should learn time management, self-regulation when faced with stress, communication and help seeking. The government should strengthen the safeguard measures for blue-collar workers, strengthen market supervision, improve the relevant labor market policies, strengthen the employment guidance for the unemployed, implement compulsory education, and gradually improve the education level of blue-collar workers.

Abstract:Curriculum resources have become a new research field, which is an important factor that restricts the intensity of physical education reform. The human resources in sports and health courses are the most important resources in sports and health curriculums. This paper presents the analysis of the current situation of human resources management in sports and health courses in Kunming key middle schools. In this paper, the authors introduced different methods to help carry on the analysis, such as literature research, questionnaire survey, interviewing, mathematical statistics and comparison & analysis. The paper explores the main factors that affect the efficiency of human resources management in sports and health classes, such as age, sex, education, etc.. Besides, it also shows the worrying situation of teacher training. The aim of the paper is to improve the utilization of human resources and propose helpful suggestions on the development of human resources management in sports and health courses.

Abstract:: In the process of comprehensively implementing the rural revitalization strategy, the population issue has become one of the key factors limiting the overall revitalization of rural China. The results of an empirical analysis of the five aspects of education, training, medical care, culture and management in Xihe Town, Xinhua County, Hunan Province, a representative large inland agricultural town, show that the level of education, knowledge and skills training, rural cultural construction and management of grassroots human resource organisations have a significant positive effect on the degree of development, but the effect of the level of medical care and health care is not significant. This leads to the proposal of a development strategy for human resource development in Xihe Town from various types of education and training systems in rural areas, rural health care systems and talent incentive policies.

Abstract:Small and medium-sized enterprises in China have always played an important role in the national economy. However, in the context of global economic integration, small and medium-sized enterprises in China are now enduring numerous unfavorable effects caused by decline in economic growth, domestic inflation, the continuous appreciation of RMB, blocked export, the tension of capital lack, shortage of talented people, etc., which lead to more and more serious predicament. Affected by talents issues most, the enterprises are facing Human Resource Plight—Difficulty in recruiting, employing and maintaining talented people. This research will reveal the existing difficulties and problems by analyzing the status quo of the plight. Finally, the research will work out various feasible countermeasure programs from aspects of recruitment, training and development and salary system design, based on theory of Human Resource Management. Meanwhile, healthy development of SMEs can’t be separated from the joint efforts of government and society.

Abstract:With China's economic development and capital accumulation in the industrial sectors, the human capital level of the labours moving from the rural areas could no longer meet the demand of the industrial sectors. Therefore, "structural shortage of technical labour" emerged in the labour market as a result of excess of demand for high-skilled workers. Previous literature mostly focused on the relationship between rural human-capital level and labour movement, income change and economic growth, but in this article, the authors focus on the study of the relative disparity of urban and rural human capital and labour movement, as well as the effect of the change of urban-rural human capital gap on industrial output, profit and social welfare. This article shows that bridging the urban-rural gap in respect of human capital level could not only improve the situation of the "structural shortage of technical labour," but also have a positive effect on the general social welfare.

Abstract:Objective: The purpose of this study is to explore and propose strategies to promote the return of rural population and effective human resource development in China, and to learn from the successful experience of European countries, especially their education and training systems, social security mechanisms, characteristic industries and infrastructure construction, in order to facilitate the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy. Theoretical framework: Based on literature review, SWOT analysis, and international comparative research methods, this study builds a theoretical framework to identify the key elements of rural population return and human resource development, including vocational education and training, social security system, the cultivation of characteristic industries, the construction of infrastructure, etc., and reveals the similarities and differences between China and Europe in these fields through comparative analysis. Design/Methods/Approach: Adopt a combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, firstly, through an extensive literature review to build a theoretical foundation; Second, data from official and international agencies are used for quantitative analysis, including processing and visualizing data on rural residents' incomes, investment in education, and population structure. Subsequently, SWOT analysis was used to assess the current state of human resource development in China's rural areas. Finally, the data obtained are exhaustively analysed, combined with European cases and specific strategic suggestions are proposed. Significance: The results of this study will provide a comprehensive strategic framework for human resource development in China's rural areas, emphasizing the implementation of multidimensional strategies such as optimizing investment in education, vocational training, and improving the social security system, which is of great practical importance to promote the healthy return of rural people and promote the sustainable development of the economy and economy. rural society. The proposed strategies can not only guide policy-making, but also provide a scientific basis for the development path of rural areas.

Abstract:On the act of changingChina to a learning society, trainers can play an increasingly important role. Chi-na is abundant with human resources. There are numerous employees,but the quality of those employees is relatively low. It is urgent for enterprises to turn from quantity advantages of human resourcesto the quality advantage. The role of trainer and its corresponding responsibility is important. At present, the lack of training system in our country leads to some significant challenges, such as imperfect quality system, unclear principal-agent relationship between trainer and training institutions, and the lack of government supervision and industry standard. <br> This paper studied the existing problems of the training industry by conducting surveys and interviews with38 trainers. This paper chose the training industries of western developed countries such as the United States, Germany, Australia as the research object, analyzed them respectively from the following five aspects: supervision system of gov-ernment guidance, industry standard coordinate system, the professional qualification system, market access system, and the relevant supporting systems. <br> This article summed up the successful experience of western countries, then proposedseveral trainer system design recommendations. First of all, government participation is important, which can strictly regulate trainer qualifications and training organizations market access system. Second, establishing the contract relationship is necessary, which can clearly define the rights and obligations of trainers and training institutions. Third, promoting the professional as-sociation can deepen formulation of quality supervision and standard of industry association. Finally, it is important to adopt international occupational standards, instead of national standards, for the training division.

Abstract:With economic globalization and the constant deepening of Chinese market economic reform, there occurs increasingly fierce competition among enterprises. Due to unique values, scarcity and inimitably organized classical characteristic, the human resources of modern enterprises become an integral component of modern enterprises’ competitiveness. How well human resources support the core capacity and competing advantages of an enterprise depends on employees’ core expertise and skills that create values for clients. The training system that is oriented on corporate strategies and core capacities is thus an important basis for cultivating and improving corporate employees’ core knowledge and skills. In this paper, we select GF company as the research object, making full use of human resource management related theory, literature research, case method, interview method to put forward an optimization design of GF company training system.

Abstract:With the development of knowledge- economy,human resource has become a key factor in creating competitive advantages for enterprises.How to get development via HRM(human resource management) is becoming one major concern for many decision-makers in SMEs(small-and-medium sized enterprises).Generally,HRM in SMEs is described as substandard,provisional and unprofessional,which has brought some particularities to HRM development.In present study,the up-to-date researches are summarized at first.Then the demands for HRM development and the current status in SMEs are analyzed,basing on the perspective of enterprise life cycle under Chinese practical situation.Finally some suggestions for the Chinese SMEs which are facing to HRM problems in different life stages have been provided respectively.
