The Border of Pedagogy and the Future of Education Science——Toward a Unique and Independent "Education Science"

Abstract:A discussion of the "border of pedagogy" is helpful to reexamine the issue of "pedagogy independence",to find new impetus,to explore new approaches and to promote new cooperation for pedagogy. The border of pedagogy has its unique connotation,nature and basis of division. The latter includes the mission,objectives,issues, methods, perspectives and assumptions of research,etc. They alone cannot construct or explain the border of pedagogy,unless they are integrated into a "pedagogic standpoint". The exploration of the "border of pedagogy",the "pedagogic standpoint" and their correlation with each other aims to probe into the "scientific logic" of educational science,to get rid of its reliance on "scientific standards" of philosophy,natural sciences,and humanities and social sciences,and to form its own scientific vision and scientific standards for education science. This kind of new vision and standards can lead to the independence of pedagogy as a unique concept.
