Abstract:The characteristics of fully-graded concrete of different moduli have not been paid much attentions to over a long period of time. The tensile stress of concrete is normally the key factor in the high arch dam design, so the analysis based on the different modulus elasticity theory is necessary. Especially, if a high arch dam to be constructed is located in a region of high seismic intensity, the earthquake resistance to ensure the dam safety is the most important technical problem to be solved, therefore, the requirement for tensile stress control of the dam body is very high. In the present study, static and dynamic flexural-tensile tests were performed on fully-graded concrete by use of the third point flexural loading method and the electro-hydraulic servo system for the study of the variation of the tension and compression elastic moduli and the Poisson ratios of the concrete in dynamic and static states. The results show that the ratios of compression and tension elastic moduli are 0.89 and 0.87 respectively in static and dynamic states, that the compression and tension elastic moduli in the dynamic state increase by 5.4% and 8.5% as compared with those in the static state, that the compression and tension Poisson ratios reach 0.88 and 0.68 respectively in static and dynamic states, and that the flexural strength of the concrete in the dynamic state is 21.7% greater than that in the static state.
