Abstract:The major part of chromogenic lignin derivatives in pulping and papermaking wasterwater is difficult to be decolored,its color and COD are also high.Therefore,the effluent from secondary treatment must be advanced treated for further reducing the color and COD,improving effluent quality,to meet the requirement of the newest "discharge regulation of water pollutants for pulp and paper industry"(GB3544—2008).The new technology and its application for papermaking wastewater advanced treatment were introduced at home and abroad,the development and application of magnetic pre-treatment,the enzymatic advanced treatment,biological genetic engineering technique,biomimetic-coagulating technology,photochemical catalytic oxidation and combined process in particular.

Abstract:The process of coagulation and air flotation was designed to deal with papermaking wastewater. The average removal rates of SS, COD and BOD5 reached 92%, 95.4%, 64.7% and 90%, respectively, which satisfied designed discharge standard. The drainage and paper pulp can be reused in production, which realized the closed circulation of using water in producing and wastewater zero discharge. This process prevents the defects of large space of biochemical disposal and high investion and function expense, and featured low cost, stable treatment effect, as well as easy maintenance, so the environmental benefit is remarkable.

Abstract:Large amount of lignin、hemicellulose and other organic chemicals were discharged into revers and seas along with waste water or burned for low-value utilization during the process of pulping and papermaking.This not only caused serious environmental problems,but also wasted a lot of renewable resources.Therefore,for the paper industry have introduced a variety of environmental polices and implemented higher environmental standards.Some enterprises have to face the risk of shutting down because of the high treatment cost and higher environment protection.The serious problem was how to realize the reuse of paper industry wastewater and ultra-low emission in modem paper industry.In this paper,the recent research advances and engineering practice of common paper resource utilization technology and ultra-low emission technology were summarized,such as anaerobic fermentation for biogas,sludge resources utilization,advanced oxidation process,membrane separation technology,active carbon absorption and separation technology,sand filtration technology,magnetic finishing technology and constructed wetland research.This conclusion could promote scientific research and engineer utilization of paper wastewater and ultra-low emission technology and a clean and green production for the paper industry.
The Water Pollution Status And The New Development Of Treatment Technology Of Papermaking Wastewater On Seven Major River Basins In China

Abstract:The papermaking wastewater discharging status in seven major river basins in China was introduced in this paper. Papermaking wastewater accounts for 17.4% of all discharge of wastewater in the survey studied, and it is the first COD sources which COD discharge amount accounts for 35.3%. The index-pollution contribution rate is utilized to analyze the impact of wastewater drainage generated in papermaking industry on these seven river basins. The characteristic of papermaking wastewater and the present new development of treatment technologies on the four types of papermaking effluent in China are summarized. Then the Integrated Technology of Wastewater Treatment for treating recycled fiber papermaking wastewater is mainly presented. Finally, the improving technology for papermaking effluent in china is in prospect.

Abstract:An advanced process for treating de-inking wastewater is described.The principles,schematic flow diagram,and major structures of this advanced treatment process are presented,and the effects of parameters of design and operation of this process are discussed.A de-inking wastewater treatment project has been set up using this process in a big papermaking factory.The effluent water from this process meets the limits of the class two in the National Comprehensive Wastewater Discharge Standards (GB8979-1996).Measures have been proposed to troubleshoot the problems in the oepration of this process.

Abstract:The treatment process and performance of papermaking mill waste water were introduced in this paper.A comparison of all treatment processes was presented.Combinations of anaerobic and aerobic treatment processes were found to be efficient in the removal of soluble biodegradable organic pollutants.Color can be removed effectively by fungal treatment,coagulation,chemical oxidation,and ozonation.Chlorinated phenolic compounds and adsorable organic halides(AOX) can be efficiently reduced by adsorption,ozonation and membrane filtration techniques.

Abstract:Main sources and characteristics of regenerated papermaking wastewater were analyzed.Various treatment measures were summarized and reviewed according to the pollution characteristics of wastewater.Research results showed that SS content could be effectively removed from wastewater by coagulation precipitation or air float,and the biodegradability of wastewater could be improved,therefore it was the most widely used as a preprocessing method.The combination of anaerobic and aerobic biological treatment process,as the main process of wastewater treatment,could be made full use of the advantages of these two processes,and most of BOD5,COD,parts of chlorinated phenolic compounds and adsorbable organic halides (AOX) could be removed.Through chemical oxidation method,stubborn organic matter and color could be further removed,and it was often used as tertiary treatment with consideration of factors such as cost,operation and management.Wastewater reuse and zero discharge are the future direction of this area.

Abstract:Process of Static screen-Flocculation-A/O was adopted for treatment of the effluent from recycled paper mill.The quality of effluent discharged from the second clarifier reached the local discharge standards of Guangdong Province.Testing results showed that removal rates of SS and COD after physic-chemical treatment were up to 90%,and 50% respectively,while those after biological treatment was at 50%, 90% respectively.The operation cost was 0.533RMB per ton wastewater.This technology of A/O combined with physic-chemical process was reasonable and feasible for the treatment of wastewater from paper making with recycled fibers.

Abstract:More than 695.7 million m 3 of papermaking wastewater is discharged globally. It contains a mixture of complex pollutants, of which lignin is the major constituent (600–1000 mg/L) of papermaking black liquor, making it the second-largest energy-containing biomass globally and accounting for 47.4% and 59.4% of chemical oxygen demand (16,400 ± 120 mg/L) and chroma (3100 ± 22.32 mg/L) of papermaking wastewater. The complex process and dissolved pollutants are responsible for high pH, biochemical oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, total suspended solids, dark color, and toxicity. Papermaking wastewater has emerged as a substantial source of environmental pollution as the conventional wastewater treatment processes are high cost and seldom efficacious. This work introduces the shortcomings of the common treatment methods for papermaking wastewater and lignin, focusing on lignin biodegradation and discussing the metabolic pathways and application prospects of lignin-degrading microbial species. A comprehensive review of the existing lignin treatment methods has proposed that the reasonable amalgamation of biodegradation and various physicochemical techniques are environmentally friendly, sustainable, and economical. Lignin extraction from papermaking wastewater by technology combination is an effective approach to recover valuable organic materials and detoxify wastewater. This review focuses on recent breakthroughs and future trends in papermaking wastewater treatment and lignin removal, with special emphasis on biodegradation, recovery, and utilization of lignin, providing guidance for the mechanism exploration of lignin-degrading microorganisms and the optimization of high-value chemical production.

Study On Advanced Treatment Of High Yield Pulping (Apmp) Effluent

Abstract:High yield pulping technology consumes less energy in refining, and causes less wastewater and less pollution, additionally the yield rate is higher and pulp strength is better. However, the wastewater results from this method have high density and colority, the discharged wastewater still contains various toxic chemical contaminant, this pollution problem isn't allowed to ignore. To solve the problems of the papermaking wastewater new discharge standards and reuse, according to features of poplar APMP pulping effluent, A coagulation-anaerobic baffled reactor(ABR)-sequencing batch reactor(SBR)-biological aerated filter(BAF) process used for the effluent advanced treatment was studied. The result shows that about 90% suspended solids in the original wastewater are removed by coagulating sedimentation pretreatment, be lessening contaminating load of follow-up handle. The B/C of wastewater is raised 0.27 to 0.38 by ABR anaerobic reaction, the biodegradability of wastewater is great improved. Resolvable contaminant in the wastewater is removed by continuous aerobic SBR, the out water of the second sedimentation basin is going to advanced treatment by BAF, the average CODCr and colority of the treated water respectively are 78.3mg/L and 41times, the quality of the final water not only can completely satisfies the new discharge standard (GB3544-2008), but also the recycle requirements. The handling system has many merits with simple technological process, high efficiency, stability reliably running, and low cost.
