Abstract:To control multiple numerical control(NC) machine tools in a distributed numerical control (DNC) system in flexible manufacturing system(FMS) in real time, the paper describes the FANUC DNC2 protocol in detail by use of the model of 5 layers OSI net protocol, suggests a design method of real time control program for DNC by use of the oriented-object technique, builds up a hardware structure for the DNC system. And a DNC software has been developed. Application indicates that the DNC sof tware is reliable and can be easily operated.

Abstract:STandard for the Exchange of Product model data-compliant Numerical Control data interface(STEP-NC) data model and machining program structure were firstly analyzed.Machining program information extraction system was designed.Principles and realization method of model entity construction,lexical analysis,entity-instance matching and information assorting with feature reconstruction were discussed in detail.Based on above-proposed model,the STEP-NC information extract experiment prototype system was developed,and it was proved to be effective in reading the examples of ISO STEP-NC FDIS.

Abstract:To improve the lower precision and the stability of the domestic EDM CNC system ,the research developed the high-speed and high-precision EDM CNC system which on the basis of the modern PC platform and NC controller. In this system ,a PC and Windows operating system was employed as the principal computer, and the PCI,DSP,FPGA was employed as the subordinate computer. It was able to achieve multi-axis orbital machining and high-speed complex jump machining. By being applied to EDM machine and carrying out the experiments of jump and multi-axis orbital machining,the system validated its performance of high stability and reliability.

Abstract:To improve production rates and the economic benefits, process parameters need to be monitored and adjusted automatically in the machining. At present, it is mainly concentrated on the study of the algorithms about tool wearing and tool breakage, and theory modeling of interrelated models in the processing machining. The monitoring systems independent of CNC are also investigated to realize the status monitoring on external parts, which result in lower integration and difficulty in operation. Consequently, a modular and configurable machining system of three axis milling is established, with the ability of constant cutting force, which is a part of CNC system and can coordinate with traditional CNC to implement the function of integration state monitoring. With this system it can realize the real time status monitoring in machining, and improve the work-piece's quality and efficiency by controlling the constant cutting force between the work-piece and the tool. © 2009 IEEE.

Abstract:Due to the weak integration of the CAD/CAPP/CAM/CNC process chain in practice, NC manufacture of mechanical components is often a time-consuming and error-provoking process. This paper proposes an integrated system that is capable of CAD information extraction, automatic process planning, real-time machining and in-process measurement for NC turning operations. The proposed system consists of a PC-based decision-making system (DS) and a DSP-based execution system. The DS and ES, which communicate via data bus, work in close collaboration to perform process planning, machine control and workpiece inspection tasks. In order to support dynamic decision-making, a basic approach to on-machine inspection is designed and implemented using laser sensors. Both the hardware and software structures are also discussed and a prototype for manufacturing simple rotational components is demonstrated.

Abstract:Digital Twin has become a frontier research topic in recent years and the important development direction of intelligent manufacturing. For numerical control machining, a Digital Twin system can be used as an intelligent monitoring and analysis center by reflecting the real machining process in a virtual environment. The machining simulation is the key technology to realize this kind of application. However, existing machining simulation systems are designed for off-line situation that cannot be used directly in Digital Twin environment. The challenges for machining simulation are analyzed and explained in this article: (1) complete process data representation in simulation system; (2) executing in cooperating with computer numerical control system; (3) more efficient simulation algorithm. In order to meet these challenges, a new machining simulation system is proposed. STEP-NC standard is used to save complete process data exported from the computer-aided manufacturing system and synchronization algorithm is developed based on the communication data of computer numerical control system. Most importantly, an optimized tri-dexel-based machining simulation algorithm is developed to perform high efficiency that can follow the real machining process. Finally, a Digital Twin system for NC machining is presented that has been tested and verified in a workshop located in COMAC (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Ltd).

Abstract:STEP-NC (formalized as ISO 14649 and ISO10303 AP238) is a new interface standard between CAD/CAM and CNC, currently under establishment. Upon completion, it will replace ISO6983 (G & M codes). To study implementation technology for STEP-NC, a virtual system for 3D milling machining was established, which can take STEP-NC program as input. A functional architecture for this system is first proposed, and then followed by the software design for each constituent module. The key implementation technology involved includes: (1) STEP-NC program interpretation, (2) entity recognition, (3) entity mapping, (4) tool path planning, and (5) machining simulation. Abstract:To overcome the shortcomings existing in today's decayed tooth cavity remedy in dentistry,a special CNC(computer numerical control) dental ceramic grinding machine and its CAD/CAM system were developed with modern computer science and control technology.The system is realized with VC++6.0 integrated development environment in Windows 2000 and is composed of modules such as the real time precision control of trajectory,DIP(digital image processing),process planning,HMI(human machine interface) and etc.Building on the characters of dental ceramic grinding,the system's automatic NC programming is developed with DIP method.Thereafter the automatic process planning and the correction of the interference of cutter's trajectory were realized.It's proved by experiment the fine machining of dental ceramic can be realized effectively with the system.
