Abstract:We consider an elliptic system of Hamiltonian type in a strip in ℝ^N , satisfying the periodic boundary condition for the first k variables. In the superlinear case with critical growth, we prove the existence of a single bubbling solution for the system under an optimal condition on k. The novelty of the paper is that all the estimates needed in the proof of the existence result can be obtained once the Green’s function of the Laplacian operator in a strip with periodic boundary conditions is found.

Abstract:We consider an elliptic system of Hamiltonian type in a strip, satisfying the periodic boundary condition. In the superlinear case with critical growth we prove the existence of bubbling solution for the system under suitable conditions on the coefficient function. As a result, we obtain the existence of periodic solution for the system in RN, if the coefficient function is periodic in its k variables. An non-existence result is also obtained. The novelty of the paper is based on the construction arguments and obtains the periodic solution for the system in RN directly, which we believe that the idea and the method can be applied to other related problems with periodic boundary conditions. Abstract:In this paper it is proved that the period function of reversible Lotka-Volterra quadratic systems is monotone, unless the associated center is isochronous. For this class of quadratic systems, the traditional criterion function on the monotonicity of period function does not work, we improve the criterion function to new different forms such that it can be used for different values of the parameters in the system. Furthermore, to overcome the difficulty that the exponential function of the parameter appears in the first integral, in our study we combine the analytic expressions with their geometric meanings and symbolic computations. These methods may be used for other problems.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the existence of periodic solutions for coupled Rayleigh system (CRS). A sufficient criterion for the existence of periodic solutions for CRS is provided via an innovative method of combining graph theory with coincidence degree theory as well as Lyapunov method. As a subsequent result, coupled Lord Rayleigh system is also discussed. Subsequently, a sufficient condition is given to determine the existence of its periodic solutions. Finally, a numerical example and its simulations are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed criterion.

Abstract:Characterizing existence or not of periodic orbit is a classical problem, and it has both theoretical importance and many real applications. Here, several new criterions on nonexistence of periodic orbits of the planar dynamical system are obtained and by examples shows that these criterions are applicable, but the known ones are invalid to them. Based on these criterions, we further characterize the local topological structures of its equilibrium, which also show that one of the classical results by Andreev (Am Math Soc Transl 8:183–207, 1958) on local topological classification of the degenerate equilibrium is incomplete. Finally, as another application of these results, we classify the global phase portraits of a planar differential system, which comes from the third question in the list of the 33 questions posed by A. Gasull and also from a mechanical oscillator under suitable restriction to its parameters.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the following nonperiodic Hamiltonian elliptic system {−Δu+V(x)u=Rv(x,u,v)in RN,−Δv+V(x)v=Ru(x,u,v)in RN,u(x)→0andv(x)→0as |x|→∞, where R(x,z) is superquadratic in z as |z|→∞ with z=(u,v). By applying a critical point theorem for strongly indefinite functionals, we prove the existence of solution for the above system.

Abstract:The precise periodic solution and uniqueness of periodic solutions of some relative rotation nonlinear dynamical system possessing linear rigidity and nonlinear damping force and forcing periodic force is investigated. Firstly, the stability and uniqueness of limit cycles of a kind of autonomous nonlinear dynamical system are discussed. Secondly, the necessary condition of uniqueness of periodic solutions of the system is presented by using qualitative analysis method. Abstract:Firstly, we propose a concept of uniformly almost periodic functions on almost periodic time scales and investigate some basic properties of them. When time scale T = R or Z , our definition of the uniformly almost periodic functions is equivalent to the classical definitions of uniformly almost periodic functions and the uniformly almost periodic sequences, respectively. Then, based on these, we study the existence and uniqueness of almost periodic solutions and derive some fundamental conditions of admitting an exponential dichotomy to linear dynamic equations. Finally, as an application of our results, we study the existence of almost periodic solutions for an almost periodic nonlinear dynamic equations on time scales.
