Establishment and implementation of chemical laboratory access system

Abstract:With various hazards including toxic chemicals ,pressure vessels and high‐temperature equipment ,the personnel safety in university chemical laboratories is of great importance .Based on the experience in safety management accumulated in the past years ,the laboratory access system is established and carried out in Department of Chemical Engineering of Tsinghua University .It is mandatory for all researchers in laboratories to obtain the safety pass (S‐pass) before they can start their work by learning essential safety knowledge , passing safety examination ,doing risk evaluation and signing a commitment .This system is proved to be quite effective for improving the safety consciousness of researchers and decreasing the risk in laboratories as well .It can also provide beneficial reference for other universities and colleges .
