Abstract:Objective To compare the visual quality after spherical(Acrysof Toric IOL,SN60TT)and aspheric(Acrysof IQ Toric IOL,SN6AT)astigmatism type of intraocular lens implantation.Methods Fifty-five eyes of 52 patients with cataract were divided into two groups:the observation group of 21 patients(23 eyes)received the AcrySof IQ Toric IOL implantation,and the control group of 31 cases(32 eyes) received the AcrySof Toric IOL implantation.The postoperative uncorrected visual acuity,best corrected visual acuity contrast sensitivity wavefront aberration were examined.Results There was no statistical difference in uncorrected visual acuity and best corrected visual acuity at postoperative 1 week,1 month,3 months between two groups(all P>0.05).The preoperative corneal astigmatism of observation group and control group were(2.236±1.249)D and(2.393±1.320)D,respectively which at postoperative 3 months were(0.394±0.242)D and(0.537±0.286)D,respectively, there were statistical differences between pre-operation and post-operation of two groups(all P<0.05)but there was no statistical difference in pre-operation and postoperation between two groups(all P>0.05).Three months after operation,the contrast sensitivity of the observation group in the night with glare or not was higher than the control group,the difference was statistically significance(all P<0.05).The RMS values of 4th-order spherical aberration and total high order aberration in the observation group were lower than those in the control group at 6 mm pupil diameter three months postoperatively,the difference was statistically significant(all P<0.05).The IOL rotation at 1 week,1 month and 3 months postoperatively in the observation group were(3.38±1.91)°,(3.39±1.91)° and(4.24±2.08)°,respectively, which in the control group were(3.57±1.80)°,(3.86±2.20)°and(4.94±1. 85)°,respectively,there was no statistical difference between two groups(all P>0. 05).Conclusion The IQ Toric IOL is effective in astigmatism correction and has good rotational stability.At the same time,it can reduce the spherical aberration,increase contrast sensitivity and improve postoperative visual quality.
