Tetracyclic Triterpenoids from the Bark of Melia Azedarach

Abstract:Eight compounds were isolated and purified from the bark of Melia azedarach L.and identified as meliastatin 3(1),dubione B(2),toosendanone A(3),sendanolactone(4),melianodiol(5),1-tigloyl-3,20-diacetyl-11-methoxymeliacarpinin(6),stigmast-5-en-3β,7α-diol(7) and stigmast-4-en-3β,6β-diol(8).Compounds 7 and 8 are obtained from Melia for the first time,and compounds 1,2 and 3 are obtained from Melia azedarach for the first time,and compounds 4,5 and 6 are obtained from the bark of Melia azedarach for the first time.
