Abstract:Organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs), as novel and attractive kinds of organic electronic devices, have gained extensive attention from both academia and industry. The unique device architectures can simultaneously combine the electrical switching functionality of organic field-effect transistors and the light generation capability of organic light-emitting diodes in a single device, thereby holding great promise for reducing the complicated processes of next-generation pixel circuitry. This review involves the design, fabrication, and applications of OLETs with a comprehensive coverage of this field with the aim to give a deep insight into the intrinsic mechanisms of devices. Challenges and future prospects of OLETs are also discussed.

Abstract:Since the invention of organic light-emitting diodes(OLEDs) by Dr. CW Tang in 1987, researches in related fields have been developed rapidly. Now, small to medium size OLED displays have already been commercialized. Large OLED TVs and OLED lightings have also emerged in real applications. The further development of the OLED technology calls for intensive research on organic light-emitting materials and devices. This report reviewed the most focused issues as well as the main progress in the field of OLEDs in the recent years. It is shown that researchers have paid attentions to both technical innovations and theoretical researches, such as the design of new molecules, developing of new device technology, and understanding of light-emitting and transporting mechanisms of organic semiconductors.The developing trends of organic light-emitting materials and devices are summarized as follows: 1) molecular design for high performance phosphorescent materials; 2) novel fluorescent materials and their light emitting mechanisms; 3) new technologies for high performance white OLEDs; 4) new technologies for solution-processed devices and flexible devices; 5) the influences of molecular packing, disorder and doping on the charge transporting properties of organic semiconductors. Moreover, the current situations and developing trends of international OLED display and lighting industries are discussed.

Abstract:Organic light emitting device research has developed during the past 40 years, especially in the last decade, organic light emitting devices have been extensively studied due to its desired properties. OLED possessed other significant advantages, such as low thickness, light weight, low fabrication cost, low power loss, better vision, fully solid state, self-luminous, low driving voltage (3-12V) and compatible with flexible substrates etc. OLED have gained tremendous attention from industry and academia because of the potential to replace current display technologies. First, we review the history of the field of OLED and discuss the current development trends, some common organic materials have been simply introduced. Then a detailed review on the structure of the devices, the luminous mechanism, especially fabrication methods of full-color display as well as the fabrication crafts has been done in this paper.

Abstract:The development history, structure, working characteristics, methods of getting color display of OLED and its advantages/disadvantages, developing situation and trend have been reviewed. The performances of low molecular OLED and high molecular PLED, OLED and LCD have been compared in detail. Particularly the display principle of OLED was described in detail. Moreover, the structure of passive driving circuit and active driving circuit were summarized, and it is considered that the active driving OLED would be the terminal results. Finally, the development status of OLED both at home and abroad is described.

Abstract:Organic light-emitting diodes ( OLEDs) are solid state light emitting devices. They have broad prospects in the field of wearable devices owing to their flexibility nature, low driving voltage and low power consumption. Small to medium size OLED displays have already been commercialized. Large OLED TVs and OLED lightings have also emerged in real ap-plications. We review the most focused issues as well as the main progress in the field of flexible OLED technology in the recent years. The developing trends of flexible substrate material, flexible thin film transistor material, flexible OLED emit-ting layer and flexible thin film encapsulation layer are summarized. We also introduce some emerging flexible device fabri-cation technologies, such as flexible fabric substrate, polymer fibre based light emitting cell, the symmetric panel stacking device structure and slot-die coating technology. Lastly, we look to the prospect of the flexible OLED materials and devices technology.

Abstract:Organic light-emitting diode (OLED) is an emerging technology of organic electronics that exhibits an assortment of salient and attractive features like self-emitting ability, great flexibility, true dark tone, transparency and many more. Along with display applications, OLEDs are prudent for light detection-based applications. Enormous research work has been reported to refine the OLED technology in terms of structures, materials, performance parameters, lifetime and applications. There is a vast scope for developing white OLED devices for utilization in solid-state lighting applications. This review paper summarizes recent advancements in different aspects for OLEDs over the last decade. The main focus is to diversify different multilayer structures of OLEDs highlighting the role and significance of charge injection, charge transport, emission and blocking layers. Also, a timeline analysis for characteristics parameters, layer-wise materials and fabrication techniques is presented. Further, different performance improvement techniques based on layers, parameters and colour emission are demonstrated. This article also illustrates prudent applications based on organic thin-film transistor-driven OLED, sensors, military and healthcare. Some challenges and reliability issues are also discussed with a scope for future work for OLED.

Abstract:Abstract: Organic light emitting diode (OLED) is a device that uses organic semiconductor materials to emit light under the action of an electric field. Compared with traditional luminescent materials, they have the advantages of good softness, low-temperature resistance, wider field of vision and low energy consumption, and have been widely used in the field of display and lighting in recent years. In addition, compared with red and green light-emitting materials, the maximum external quantum efficiency of blue-light materials-based devices is high, but the CIE coordinate performance is poor and the blue emission is difficult to achieve high efficiency and high color purity at the same time. Researchers continue to design new molecular structures in order to synthesize new high-efficiency blue light materials. It is found that different molecular structures have different effects on the performance of OLED devices. In the design and synthesis of blue-light materials, various light-emitting groups are often used to regulate the stability, singlet-third-line state of the target molecule energy level difference, excited state lifetime, aggregation state structure, electricity luminescent color and its OLED performance, etc. The introduction of different light-emitting groups into the blue light material greatly improves the performance of the material. This paper mainly reviews the research status of blue organic electroluminescent materials in the past five years from different molecular structures, further discusses the photoelectric properties of each compound and the properties of devices based on this material, and briefly analyzes the advantages of molecular design and device production. And finally discusses the improvement methods of blue OLED light-emitting materials in order to provide a reference for future research.

Abstract:Abstract Organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) have become a mainstream display technology in consumer electronics. Self‐emitting ability, transparency, true dark tone, and capability of being made flexible are some of the features of OLED displays, leading to a superior performance compared with liquid crystal displays. In addition to displays, OLEDs are also a strong candidate for lighting applications. Despite great advances in improving the internal quantum efficiency of an OLED to nearly 100%, the external quantum efficiency is still lacking behind due to optical losses. This review reports the latest advances in the optical design of OLEDs that address the external coupling efficiency of OLEDs. Discussed at first are the fundamentals of OLED optics and how the refractive indices of different layers in an OLED stack affect the extraction efficiency. Then, this paper reviews how microlens arrays, scattering layers, and corrugated structures can be used to recover the optical losses and improve the external efficiency, and the general optical designs for different optical structures for light extraction are presented.

Abstract:Organic/polymer light-emitting diodes (OLEDs/PLEDs) have attracted a rising number of investigations due to their promising applications for high-resolution fullcolor displays and energy-saving solid-state lightings. Near-infrared (NIR) emitting dyes have gained increasing attention for their potential applications in electroluminescence and optical imaging in optical tele-communication platforms, sensing and medical diagnosis in recent decades. And a growing number of people focus on the "heavy metal-free" NIR electroluminescent materials to gain more design freedom with cost advantage. This review presents recent progresses in conjugated polymers and organic molecules for OLEDs/PLEDs according to their different luminous mechanism and constructing systems. The relationships between the organic fluorophores structures and electroluminescence properties are the main focus of this review. Finally, the approaches to enhance the performance of NIR OLEDs/PLEDs are described briefly. We hope that this review could provide a new perspective for NIR materials and inspire breakthroughs in fundamental research and applications.

Abstract:White organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are ultrathin, large-area light sources made from organic semiconductor materials. Over the past decades, much research has been spent on finding suitable materials to realize highly efficient monochrome and white OLEDs. With their high efficiency, color tunability, and color quality, white OLEDs are emerging as one of the next-generation light sources. In this review, the physics of a variety of device concepts that have been introduced to realize white OLEDs based on both polymer and small-molecule organic materials are discussed. Owing to the fact that about 80% of the internally generated photons are trapped within the thin-film layer structure, a second focus is put on reviewing promising concepts for improved light outcoupling.
