Abstract:Objective:To understand the influence strength of doctor-patient conflicts on young medical staff's retention. Methods:A total of 600 young medical staff were randomly selected from the hospital. The self-designed questionnaires on the relationship between doctor-patient conflicts and retention of young medical staff were used as investigative tools. Results:Doctorpatient conflicts cognition and the possibility for doctor-patient conflicts to happen had a statistically significant effect on young medical staff's retention(P<0.001).Doctor-patient conflicts cognition was negative(b =-1.782,OR =0.168),indicating that the increase of doctor-patient conflicts cognition was a risk factor, which meant the higher the score of doctor-patient conflicts cognition was,the lower the stay intention would be.The possibility for doctor-patient conflicts to happen (b =-0.416) was also negative, indicating there was a negative correlation between the incidence of doctor-patient conflicts and the retention. The risk of the retention that happened doctor-patient conflicts was 0.66 times as those didn't.Conclusion:The doctor-patient conflicts have a great impact on the retention. It is suggested to enhance the retention by improving doctor-patient conflicts cognition and reduce the incidence of doctor-patient conflicts.
